I grew up with a dad who never spent time with me. All he cared about was work. It traumatized me as a child and teen. I made sure when I had kids. I spent all of my time with them. It makes a difference. It’s up to you to change things..
I get what you want, but you all need to realize and know what this all takes on Tyler phisically, because it's know he's been hospitalized for all this so everyone you need to know the sychorphichics he takes for you because he physically becomes sick

Tiffany I know what you mean girl, about feeling like you've always been on your own. I was adopted at age 5. I've never known my biological father but have a good relationship with my biological mother. My adoptive parents were young & immature at best if not narcissistic & toxic. I've never felt a sense of belonging or felt rooted in the way most people do. I know my families love me but I feel it has & always will come with conditions & lines I'm not to cross that I'm unable to see. It's a terribly lonely feeling to live with & I've come to accept that it's just the way it is for me. If you're like me, you hesitate to trust even the purest of intentions. Someone can profess their love & commitment to me but I can never let go of that ever present voice in my mind telling me that they will leave just like everyone else
@shanbanan I pray that you will find true belonging one day with your own core group of loved ones. It breaks my heart when the adults can't get it together so the kids can have legacy. But, you can start the legacy that you didn't get.
Try to leave the past in the past and focus on creating an amazing future for you and your life. The people who are positive influences, and enjoy being with you, THAT'S YOUR FAMILY. Not through blood line, but naturally. They just love you for you. The others didn't know how to do that. However, it seems like you and your biological Mom may be ok. Work on building that relationship if you're both interested.
@@yvonneratcliff47 thank you for your encouraging words. Yes my biological mom & I have a good relationship, not as close as I'd like but as close as it can be I think. My roots now stem from my daughters & someday soon, their own children. While that is fulfilling beyond words, I still ache for that parental bond I was not allowed to make as a child. & it still haunts my own personal relationships. I do try & make the best of it though & use my experience to help others in similar situations

I don't care how old we are, we want it, and again I agree that we ALL deserve it. The only acceptable reason for not having parental love and support is when the parents are deceased, other than that a parent is expected to be a parent until death. Unfortunately some people miss the memo, or just don't mentally have it to give.
I've never met you or your family, but just from what I am reading here, you turned out great inspite of difficult beginnings, and you are a kind, loving person. You are going to continue to be great and leave a great legacy. ❤🥰😍

I am aware that my life could have & still could be so much worse & I am grateful for EVERY opportunity & every hardship that brought me to be who I am. I feel her on the father tip. At least she knows who he is. I've never really known my father. Yes I've heard things through the years but never from my Mom who's now deceased. A shame really. I guess one of these days I'll know if need be ... 😐
And her father is still alive, but wouldn't accept the opportunity to live with her. That's sad that he denied being in her life again.
Now he claims he wants to, but she has been hurt too many times to give him another chance.
It's disappointing, but I think she is better off saying no this time around. I wonder if he is on drugs, alcoholic or some type of mental disorder that she is not equipped to deal with in her life.
