I grew up with a dad who never spent time with me. All he cared about was work. It traumatized me as a child and teen. I made sure when I had kids. I spent all of my time with them. It makes a difference. It’s up to you to change things..

I've never known my biological father but have a good relationship with my biological mother. My adoptive parents were young & immature at best if not narcissistic & toxic. I've never felt a sense of belonging or felt rooted in the way most people do. I know my families love me but I feel it has & always will come with conditions & lines I'm not to cross that I'm unable to see. It's a terribly lonely feeling to live with & I've come to accept that it's just the way it is for me. If you're like me, you hesitate to trust even the purest of intentions. Someone can profess their love & commitment to me but I can never let go of that ever present voice in my mind telling me that they will leave just like everyone else
@shanbanan I pray that you will find true belonging one day with your own core group of loved ones. It breaks my heart when the adults can't get it together so the kids can have legacy. But, you can start the legacy that you didn't get. Try to leave the past in the past and focus on creating an amazing future for you and your life. The people who are positive influences, and enjoy being with you, THAT'S YOUR FAMILY. Not through blood line, but naturally. They just love you for you. The others didn't know how to do that. However, it seems like you and your biological Mom may be ok. Work on building that relationship if you're both interested.

My roots now stem from my daughters & someday soon, their own children. While that is fulfilling beyond words, I still ache for that parental bond I was not allowed to make as a child. & it still haunts my own personal relationships. I do try & make the best of it though & use my experience to help others in similar situations

Congestive heart failure - problems with the heart can lead to lung problems such as a build up of fluid in the lungs, causing breathing problems such as shortness of breath, pain in the chest, chesty cough, fatigue etc it’s not a very nice thing to live with. :) just saying
