She had alot of friends in the music industry, and some of that is/was likely due to the fact that her father was a founding member of one of the best R&B groups ever, Kool & The Gang, Dennis Thomas.
He passed away in August of 2021, so he and his beautiful daughter are now reunited again for an eternity, may God keep both of their souls...🙏🏼...

I’ve always like him! Love him on family matters and he made me laugh hysterically! Truth be told, l watched the show b/c of him mostly. He made the show interesting and funny plus more. What a fine man he turned out to be! I’ve a lot of admiration for him, the way he’s so close and raised his daughter👏🏾, l can go on! Moreover, when this young woman (Michelle Thomas) who passed away so sadly, his love interest on the show, may She Rest In Peace, l thought oh boy. These two are something else, they deserved each other 😂. The duo complemented the show. That’s life, we lose people we love, we mourn them and we move on. However, we never forget them and we keep their spirits alive and close to our hearts. Until next time!!!

My grandmother LOVED Family Matters and specifically, Jaleel's character. I was a kid when this show was on and I remember calling her and she would answer the phone cracking up laughing. She was a quiet, thoughtful, beautiful spirit but Jaleel would have her laughing in tears.. she died in 94 and hearing him speak on the death of his friend brought up so much

Let’s be real, Michelle’s death was shocking. One minute she was on the Y&TR, next she was gone. She had so much talent and it’s sad how young she was when she passed away. Erkle was the only reason I watched Family Matters. Normally I would leave the room to read a book instead of watching a sitcom. Jeleel made Erkle a funny, believable, and lovable character.🤗💚

Because you decided I was the one you'd come at we're going to go there... have you ever been declared dead or been near death? I have twice now and both times were filled with good, most recently getting to see my grandma Betty and if it weren't for her telling me I have more to do on this earth, that I had to fight to live I wouldn't be here right now. I'm being tested as everyone is and I do wish I could catch a break but at the same time it reminds me of the times I've prayed to God. To allow me to be sick and not the child I saw going through treatment with me. I chose to believe it's worked as that child is cancer free and I'm not. I live for spiritual and “woo woo stuff” and I truly believe there is so much we can’t explain, but that there is truly life and love beyond this physical realm. (Although there are many frauds and opportunists who manipulate and play on people’s emotions for a quick dollar )

It’s sadly actually not funny. He was emotionally drained, and they filmed this in home where he doesn’t have to confront the pain if he doesn’t want to. He actually had to recover from this. Most people No that he has a difficult time talking about her death and try to be gentle with him if the subject comes up. Here his emotions and pain were used for the entertainment of an audience.

The screen chemistry you and Michelle as Maya gave me hope for finding someone myself some day being the level of nerd I always have been. I was so sad when she passed the way she did. Crazy part about this is that I thought about this woman a week ago. It's amazing how we all can connect and feel vibration from love ones and others outside of family. I felt her and always would think about her often. She died too soon.

The woman, actress was so beautiful and just kind…her reputation preceded her. I once ran into her at the Santa Monica stairs. Michelle was petite and just radiant. I was coming up the stairs and she was coming down and I was caught by surprise seeing her there in person and she saw my expression and just gave me the biggest smile. I worked in entertainment over 20 years and met countless celebrities and my favorite run ins have always been impromptu. It was shocking to learn she passed so suddenly, but she was like Chadwick and didn’t tell many people.
Jaleel is so real. I need more of him on my youtube screen. Hope he develops his own yt channel...big smile on my face, watching this!!

I went to one of his live shows in NYC several months ago and he did readings of people in the audience. When he’s on tour, I believe he does shows around the country (maybe world?) and reads people in the audience. For a couple of people in the audience at the NYC show, he had his team set up private readings because the stories behind the people that came through were so personal and private that he didn’t want to keep doing the reading in public.

I grew up on Family Matters. I just want to thank this man for all his work. I have some of the greatest memories with my grandma/Dad and other family members that have passed on. I can smell my grandma cooking till this day when I watch your show. Thank you

I wish all the best and happiness for Jaleel. Growing up, he and the rest of the Family Matters cast gave me a family when I needed it but didn't even realize it. They showed us what a family should be in the best of times and the worst of times. I'll always be grateful for that.
