Can't believe I found this rare appearance by (as Jack said) 'the best friend a song ever had'. He looked so well and at the peak of his form, but the ravages of lung cancer took him backstage forever just one year later. Thank you Vas for a real gem.
you prolly dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the new series on Instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown =)
Certainly one of the greatest....and also a good man. I was 3 yrs. old when he passesd. Around 22 or 23 later @ 26 I started listening to his music and have not stoped. I have L-O.V-E..playing in the background. Continue to rest in Peace Mr. Cole and thank you
This was evidently released in January 1964. Nat King Cole passed away in February of 1965 just over one year away, it was his last television performance.
@@alphatwosiri6697 at that time smoking was ubiquitous and ads even showed drs promoting smoking. It isn't fair to blame anyone for living in a particular era and living by it's dictates.
I need a time machine to go back in time , i was born in 1984 but ...I think I' m from many years after that ... Watching this I kinda feel the nostalgia of been there laughing and enjoying ... Thxs for uploading this video
Oh thank god your back. I’ve been binging all of your Nat King Cole uploads for the past 2 weeks and have been patiently waiting for two months for a new upload! You are doing such great work preserving, restoring, and slightly improving this old footage of an absolute musical genius! Nat King Cole is my absolute favorite artist and preformer and in my opinion one of the best musicians of all time. He was such a class act. There has and never ever will be another Nat King Cole. This world didn’t deserve him and we lost him FAR too soon. I’m so glad someone loves Nat as much as me and has the expertise in restoring this footage and preserving it for us fans of today and and of tomorrow. Thank you thank you thank you so much Vas Géza!!!!!!! Your work definitely brings a smile to my face and definitely does not go unnoticed! Keep it up, for all fans of Nat!
A big wish from Hamburg: Can you also make clips of the great drummer gene krupa in this fantastic quality? Please do it and you will make thousands of swing fans all over the world happy!
Just to sign you, I'm working on Nat's 'Had full of stars' tune from 1951. It will be true multichannel stereo when it's finished. Check back in a few days. Have a great evening, Géza.
Mi ídolo Nat King Cole un año antes de su muerte su voz estaba más ronca por el cigarrillo, pero era tan grande o más importante que Frank Sinatra, pero era negro, ya saben, el Racismo!
My favorite Jack Benny show!

He should have controlled his smoking habits…

Nat's last performance is listed in IMdB as Nov 13, 1964 on The Jack Paar Program.

That rendition of When I Fall In Love... utter perfection, made me cry my eyes out. Lovely color work - thank you
It's Gordon Jenkins' 1956 arrangement.
Just imagine to be able to see/hear any of his performances live
I generally despise colorization but this was watchable and nicely restored. Thank you.

Originally telecast on January 21, 1964.
Wonderful program. Thank you!
That's Jeanette Eymann, Jack's secretary and part-time bit player, at 0:32 (Jack says "You're very pretty" to her).
Great DES stereo!

Excellent work. Did you use Artemis to upscale?
