If you don't have pigment ink, stamp with an embossing ink then sprinkle on your embossing powder. When you run your piece through the laminator the heat will melt your powder and trap it in between. Love all these ideas!
Educate me, please...that is such an interesting premise, but you really can't use an embossing buddy in that application, so how would you keep the embossing powder JUST on the stamped places where you want it? Don't mean to be a nay-sayer, but I'm thinking the static of the plastic laminating sheets would have the embossing powder all over inside the pouch.
Love all these different techniques! Who knew?! It never ceases to amaze me what brilliant ideas crafters come up with. I'll be using these different techniques for sure. Thank you, Jennifer
You're killing me. I said no more spending money and...and...you tag teamed me!!! Jennifer and Gina and a new laminating Technique? Give up now dorothy!!!!! I am beyond amazed. Really. I used your link to order Gina pkg. Omgoodness. So excited. As always love your vids !
Silly me, I commented before watching the entire video. Of course you figured out the shaker card. Like I said, queen of techniques. You are so awesome. Thank you for all of the education over the years.
I have been stamping on the inside of laminating pouches for years, but I never thought to use laminating pouches in a card. I do it for stamp storage. I stamp images on the inside of the pouch so that the stamp aligns with the image just as it does on the original registration sheet that comes with the stamp. I organize my stamps by theme rather than by manufacturer. I put white cardstock in the laminating pouch too so that I can write down info about the stamp and to make a sturdy backing. I love a good technique video.
rtd1791, that is a BRILLIANT concept!!! I too am organizing all of my stamps and dies by theme, am almost finished doing clear/cling stamps and all dies, then I have to decide what to do with my wood-mounted stamps. I have used a ton of double-sided tape rolls to affix clear stamps to the acetate that usually came with the stamp set, but this would have been SO much better!!! I have put my stamps and dies in folders as well... If I was doing it again, I might not, but I had put too much into this to change... I do use laminating pouches for rubber cling stamps--when I started out doing this, I contacted manufacturers to see if it was safe to use acetate with the cling stamps and was told it was fine, but later was told that I should not use them. Instead of buying lots of commercially-available laminated pages, I bought an inexpensive laminator and used pouches myself. I love your idea and had to stop and say how brilliant is your idea.
O - M - GOSH & BY GOLLY!!!! I've SOOOOOO been puzzling over how I was going to make index sheets for the theme-based sorting I'll be doing -- AND YOU BLESSED ME with the ANSWER!!! I thought of StaZon-stamped acetate sheets, but wasn't certain as to just how durable they would be over time, and, never having had experience w/ that product, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to brave it (It has a "reputation", you know! tee-hee) Thank you, THANK YOU, rtd1791!!!!! (By the way, any input on HOW you sort the sentiments stamps? Or do you use AIRTABLE or EVERNOTE to keep them from getting "lost"??) (PS: THX AGAIN!!!)
I never knew this was a thing! I started doing it recently and thought I was so clever and inventive 😂😂😂 even posted a video on my Instagram! ( @paintopuissant ) So fun to learn!
Oh my word, I had laminated a stamped book mark & thought, hmmm, I bet I can make a shaker card with this plastic since it’s heat resistant & hardens after it goes through the laminator. Brilliant minds!!! I hadn’t tested this out yet, so I’m so very grateful you discovered this & utilized & shared this technique! You’re fabulous Jennifer!!! You’re cards are GORGEOUS!!! As always, thanks you so much for sharing your time, talent and creativity! Stay well, blessings always!!!
Mine bombed! I even used the flourish stamp like you showed, used my heat gun because it was a new ink pad. Just didn’t dry it enough, I guess. It melted big time. LOL. but I think it can be used as a background for shaker card so all is not lost. I will try the technique again and just leave it alone until I am absolutely certain it is dry. This is a great idea and I’m looking forward to getting it right the second time. Thanks, Jennifer. These are wonderful ways to use these beautiful stamps.
This is brilliant!!!! Thanks for sharing....a tip, instead of putting the scrap of card stock in the top of the pouch, you can fold a piece of standard typing paper in half horozontally, and put the end of the pouch in it, like a folder and run that through, that way you can use the typing paper over and over.
That doesn't work for me... Or yes it works but the lamination does not look that good at the area where the paper was... Maybe it's my laminator or the cheap laminating pouch?!
Hello,Jennifer!I have been following your work since” Creative Keepsakes”,and you always growing and coming up with amazing ideas which are very exciting and most importantly doable…Thank you very much for keeping reigning fire in me and, hopefully,in many others for the love of papercraft🫶🏻
This is so clever! Instead of a piece of scrap cardstock, you could do a bookmark since you cut it off anyway. That way you don't waste cardstock and laminating sheet.
What a great technique! I have to say that the use of my laminating machine is very limited. Thank you for giving me some great inspiration and the step-by-step tutorial.
OMG Jennifer, I have been using this technique for several months now, because I didn't have the right acetate. I also discovered it by accident when I was making my stamp storage pouches. You can also use the laminated sheets for making shaker cards. I find that they hold up very well. I knew that it would eventually be you who figured this one out. You are the technique queen.
All I can say is WOW!!!!! I have just put the laminator away. It'll be out again very soon. I hope you are all keeping well. Best Wishes from New Zealand.
@@nmccleary3889 As far as i know we only have about 8 cases in the whole country and they are mostly in Auckland. They are all in isolation. These are stopped at the boarders. Anyone comming to New Zealand has to go into isolation for 2 weeks before going anywhere else. It seems harsh but it is working. Stay well and safe.
You’ve made me so happy! I have tons of laminate pouches but no acetate! Now I can make beautiful cards with what I have! I learned my lesson in September! If you see a set you really want, buy it ASAP. If you wait, you’ll lose!
WOW! You really knocked this new release out of the park Jennifer! Fabulous cards! I have so much acetate, I'm definitely trying this technique, thank you!
These are awesome. Ever since I discovered you and your videos I have become addicted to watching them! I don't always get the same results but I keep trying.
Brilliant you are genius. I watched your video with sequins in the pouch and used black and red sequins for Valentine's backgrounds. I just did the same with fall leaves and a few sequins for bookmarks. I used the 3m pouches but for the bookmarks, I think 5m would be a little sturdier. I can't wait to try the techniques you showed in this video. thanks so much.
OH sorry I thought I was on Kristina's channel! This is the occasion to thank you too Jennifer for so much fun techniques, for inspiration and so beautiful cards. :-))
I cannot tell you how much I love this technique!!!! For years I have been making acetate cards using stazon.... but as you said, the fine detail was difficult to obtain.... can't wait to break out my laminator and give this a try. Thanks for all you do!!!
Hi Jennifer. Laminating is so fun and I have been doing similar things and lots of others too, Wonderful to see what you have come up with ! Thanks for sharing.
Both videos today have been packed full of great info, tips & tricks. Can't wait to try them all. I'm interested in how you came by the laminated pouch technique "by accident" :) Believe me, my "accidents" do not come of looking this stunning! Thanks for sharing your amazing talent.
So so very beautiful 😍 I would have never thought of stamping on the laminate pouches then running them through the laminator. Definitely going to try that.
You can use the colored scraps at the top of your laminate page to die-cut sentiments. They would be nice and shine like glossy accents without the mess. I actually chop up my laminate pouches and use a piece just big enough for my die, cut the paper just slightly larger, then put both thru the laminator in a folded piece of parchment. Then die-cut. I save every scrap of laminate. Love your cards. Thanks for sharing.
So gorgeous! Instead of a scrap paper you could insert a cardstock wich is prepared to be the card inside... you could write your greeting on it and laminate it, so your card leaves the laminator almost ready to send out 😊
A two Jennifer video day is my favorite kind of day!
This is an absolute amazing technique. I have to try this.
This video has made me look at my laminator in a whole new way.
This video never gets old, I think I've seen it 2 dozen times or more. You are so very talented and make creating magical.🦋
If you don't have pigment ink, stamp with an embossing ink then sprinkle on your embossing powder. When you run your piece through the laminator the heat will melt your powder and trap it in between. Love all these ideas!
So Crystal, the embossing powder doesn't smudge with the pressure when it goes through the laminator?
I was thinking the same thing.

She DOES get our minds into "high gear"!! I, too, have "jumped ahead" before watching "the whole thing"!!!!
Thanks Jennifer ! That tip about folding the card and running thru the laminator is awesome.
Ditto!

Wow, how creative. Just got my new laminator and am ready to go. Thank you so much for sharing this. Much appreciated.
Have fun!
I loved that Hanukkah is included in this set!! Bravo!
This is so clever! Instead of a piece of scrap cardstock, you could do a bookmark since you cut it off anyway. That way you don't waste cardstock and laminating sheet.
great idea! i acutally write notes on them with a wet erase marker. and then clean to reuse. should have mentioned in the video
I was thinking the cardstock could be slightly narrow, then stamp with sentiments. When cut and applied it would look like it's floating.
