Desert survival skills:
Get buckets, shovels and plastic wrap or plastic tarps and rocks
Dig holes, one for each bucket. Cover the hole in the plastic over the bucket. Put rocks on the edges of the plastic so it doesn’t blow away and put 1 rock in the center to weigh the plastic down. Condensation will drip into the bucket giving you fresh water. This is a condensation still and you can collect a lot of water with a few.

You do not know what you are talking about - the event is one of the cleanest in the world - I have been to many music and art festivals and have never met people more conscious about cleaning up after themselves. Obviously not everyone is like that, but a great majority are. Whatever is left over is picked up by the Burning Man staff, who patrol the entire site with bags, picking up the tiniest pieces of trash (MOOP). A few years back they banned feather boas because the feathers tended to fray off. No outside dirt or plants of any kind are allowed in.
It's irritating to see all the stupid comments on here, by people who don't have any first hand knowledge.

When i went to Burning Man I refused to rough it. A motor home was mandatory. It had a fully stocked kitchen, cold fridge, generator and additional van with more food and supplies. If I was dumb enough to attend again and this happened, I'd be chilling inside with all my food, drinks, snacks and plenty of movies and video games to keep us entertained while we waited.

The gates are closed because otherwise, it requires bringing in a lot of heavy vehicles to tow out all of the stuck ones, especially large and heavy RVs.

I have a friend there, she goes every year and was able to pop online to let us know she’s fine and it’s not as bad as the news is making it sound. She said it’s been the best burning man she’s been to in a long time!

Sounds like the desert is winning the war this year... Hahaha I live up in the area...I can tell you from experience ain't nobody riding a bicycle in that mud.... That's mud like no other...when it gets saturated your not driving anything but a bad ass 4x4 and even that can be really bad.....a couple more rain storms and the heavy things will start to sink just setting still... it's all up to mother nature at this point..it's been raining at my house all day off and on... I'm 40 Miles away..rained like hell this morning.... normally it's the dust that makes burning man a terrible adventure plus the cost of the ticket...
