“Surely, they have disbelieved who say: ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary.’ But the Messiah [i.e. Jesus] said: ‘O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord, and your Lord.’” Qur’an 5:72
It’s amazing to think that the Blessed Mother was carrying around (half of?) the human body of Jesus Christ within her body since the day she was born. In fact, her ovaries were developing while she was still within St. Anne’s womb so we might possibly say the same for her mother, at least for a short time. It’s worth thinking about. It’s a reminder to me of the depth of God’s love for us that the Son surrenders Himself into our hands in such a fragile way, in obedience to The Father.
I agree and your deeper appreciation is wonderful. It is not possible to be Christian without faith in the Incarnation and Mary's Yes was the human dimension to this to good to be but is forever truth.
It was by God's grace that I saw and watched your video. What marvelous exchange! I understood because Jesus can only perform healing and miracles when He has a human body. Therefore our bodies are sanctified because of Him! Thank you very much Thomistic Institute!
Understanding this grows and matures as the human moves thru the cycle of life. So is it with much of our Christian Faith. For me it means always reading Holy Scripture-never finishing.
Turn away from Christianity and catholicsim. They worship an Alien, turn away from it now. Jesus was an alien he wasn't son of god. He was an alien in human form. He was crucified for blasphemy. Turn away from him now. Turn away from the bible. He isn't son of god. Don't accept the holy spirit. Trust me I know the truth. He isn't what u think he is turn away.
This explanation helped us to understand that God died literally not in Divine Nature but as a second Divine person who assumed the human nature and co-exist in One body. It means that even if God (who is And who was a second Divine person) can experience a real death. This was actually a great video who concisely discussed the hypostatic unity of Jesus' nature. I am hoping that some Catholic Faith Defender in the Philippines would watch this short video so that they may be enlightened that only the divine person dies and not the nature. Thanks, Thomistic Institute.
Love is a willing of the other as other. For God to will our divinity, which became a mere a spark at Fall instead of dazzling light before the Fall, and reveal to us our true dignity and worth is the highest good of God. But he had to pay the price, freely n willingly--and that's the highest kind of love. "U r redeemed not with gold or sliver but with the Blood of Jesús Christ" said St. Peter. The life of God, revelad in the love of Christ, is our última redemption.
Thanks God for teaching Jesus , I have expediences for many yeas I was praying to understand about trinity after many years God show me three persons departure d three persons and also united in one person how made three and one for Divine Justice for one objective acting as one and three .

@@mdanas2475 the texts provided assume that in no case at all a word in God can be conceived eternally withing His eternal Mind and such us His Word and in that manner His Son is the Word conceived from all eternity so that there is no error attributed when it is revealed gradually and believed that His Son is Our Lord or that He is only His Word & Son of God for a Word Pre Exists mentally without being uttered and so when when says His One Word by which He creates all things as both Genesis and John say it excludes the Son, for He is His Word and hence, He Himself is uncreated and therefore God and the creation of all things excluding His Son takes place not as an afterthought to creation, but as rather God creates by His Word -Son- all things as God for the Word of God is God Himself. Can you explain Christ's Divine Person in light of the fact that Christ, in addition to having a complete Divine Nature, has a complete human nature with a human soul, intellect and free will. Maybe what I'm asking is, what makes a person a person if not his free will and intellect?
Father said Christ's Divine Nature was joined to His Human Nature in a hypostatic union. Both Natures fused. It's a mystery not explicable to human minds.
I came here looking for answers as to the nature of Christ. I have heard this statement in Christendom "Fully God and Fully man" to describe Christ which seems at odds with some scripture, see Philippians 2 for example. The heading statement here seems more applicable "True God and True Man". 6:54 "The eternal Son doesn't change in his divinity" seems also to be difficult to reconcile with Phil 2. Philippians 2:5-9 English Standard Version Anglicised 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, Reading the text it seems Jesus was fully God i.e. equal with him but did not hold onto that position but humbled himself and came in the likeness of men. That likeness of men described is not equal to God, though in the form of God but emptied of himself i.e. God attributes? I assume this is omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence? The newly conceived Jesus surely was neither all powerful, all knowing or omni present? Jesus as a boy increased in wisdom Luke 2:52. By comparison, omniscient God cannot grow in wisdom. Seemingly the Son had changed from the pre-incarnate Word. In Jesus' ministry the Spirit of God rested on him. He performed miracles, "knew all things" and displayed God attributes but did nothing of himself but only the will of the Father, the Father being greater. God is the greatest, not man or even God made man it would seem? Anyhow, back to the text, God exalts Jesus highly. As we know He is exalted to the throne of "God and the Lamb". Thanks in advance!

@@ThomisticInstitute many thanks. That was very interesting. I don't think I am buying the line "fully God and fully man" still. What I have heard in the link seems to support that statement? If Jesus retains all the divine attributes and becomes man as well then is the Word incarnate actually "Super God" i.e. God+something else? If you follow that line of thinking then the God/man Jesus is actually greater than the Father, not the Father greater than Jesus? For Jesus to be less than the Father wouldn't he need to empty himself of at least one of the attributes of the Father? I didn't see the points I mentioned about the plausibility of the incarnate Word still operating in the full attributes of God i.e. omniscience/omnipotence/omnipresence and such. Rather than the "Fully God and full man" statement I would prefer "the image of the invisible God, humbled/emptied and made flesh/man" which I see as far more scriptural. We also need to consider the fact that Jesus is the firstborn of many brethren i.e. he is the prototype of the born again man. If he is "fully God" then that is far more difficult to reconcile than an "emptied God".
@@filtafacta The newly conceived baby in the womb is fully human, though it has none of the attributes of an adult. A child is fully human, though it cannot think like an adult. In the same way, Jesus was "fully God," though having emptied Himself of His Divine attributes while He lived on Earth.
Can someone answer two questions I have? 1. Jesus is one person with 2 natures. Is he one substance or two substances? 2. In his personhood is he a divine person or a divine-human person? Thanks
Howdy, I hope this answer will help you. As regarding your second question; Jesus is a divine person only. Jesus was not, is not, and never will be a human person. Now to your first question; The second divine person of the Holy Trinity always possessed His divine nature, just as the Father and the Holy Spirit always possessed their divine natures. When the second person of the Holy Trinity became incarnate (the Incarnation of Jesus), the second person took on a human nature, and from then on, He had (and has) the two natures, one divine, and the other human. If you read the Dogmatic Definition of the Hypostatic Union at the Council of Chalcedon, you will find much information in it. It says in the Definition that Jesus is consubstantial with the Father in His divinity, and the same consubstantial with us as regards His humanity. The most important and useful thing for me in learning the dogma of the Hypostatic Union was to learn (and I mean get it down pat) that Jesus is a DIVINE person, never a human person. After you get that down, then the duality of natures becomes much more learnable.
"Consubstantial" in the most recent English version of the Nicene Creed sounds like jargon! I realize that's from the Latin term, but older English versions of the Creed going back to Cramer's first Book of Common Prayer translated "consubstantiálem Patri" as "of one substance with the father" which is both easy to understand and much better English. Post Vatican II versions had 'of one being with the Father' which was completely unacceptable, given what a loaded word 'substance' was for the Greeks.
I'm a Catholic ...but there is much in what you say....for theology I think you need a symphonic mindset ....otherwise one becomes a hopeless literalist....even Aquinas was smart enough to speak of analogy...sadly it seems many of his followers were not!

The Dialogue spoken by Saint Catherine of Siena while in trance describes in great detail how Christ is, wholly God and wholly man. Except the teachings have one major issue... the dialogue is mostly plagiarised from the Bhagavad Gita, filling in the Christian doctrine of Christ from that of Krishna and Arjuna.
Although parts of the Bhagavad Gita date before Christ, the parts relating to the person of Krishna were composed after the sixth century AD, by which time Christianity had been present in the east for centuries. The allegations of plagiarism are based on out of date, 19th European Scholarship. Much of that was atheist scholars who didn't even properly understand protestant theology, let alone pre-Reformation Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox theology.

@@srich7503 I am telling you that Jesus proclaiming those words, which as prophesied beforehand, is not an indication that God is a triple-minded tri-unity consisting of three witness bearing individuals. Christ and I are one. Whoever has seen me, has seen the Son. With that being said, there is only one God, and that is my God and Father, and He is also the God and Father of Jesus of Nazareth, who is the Christ. Now trinitarians are indeed like the pagans, serving multiple gods. You’ll deny this by saying that God is one being, or one essence, so you can avoid the claim that you serve multiple gods. You have no Scripture that says that God is an essence, or that God is a being. In the end, you worship three people, and you worship all three of them as God. Therefore, you have three gods. Have you not read about Israel in the Old Testament? Have you not read how they followed false gods over and over again? Christians have since done the same thing, following false gods, just as the Israelites did.
@@srich7503 The only way for a triune god to exist, and for your triune god to be the true God, is to prove that God is an essence, or as your teachers like to say, a being. Do you have any Scripture that teaches that God is an essence, rather than an individual person that bears witness?

I see your idea of why you might think he could be God, but Jesus clearly did say , I only do what my Father says to do , so that is pretty clear .. no need for further speculation . I believe we should do the same..only do the Will of the Father and not that of man.
He also said "before Abraham was, I AM" and "I and the Father are one" (among all the other passages where the Trinity is referenced) so you not acknowledging those and using the Son doing the Father's will as an argument for your heresy that the Church condemned since the first centuries is just senseless.
Jesus was God and man which is what the trinity states and we have a lot of church fathers making this clear to us... i would suggest you read the trinity... Since the only one true God (JOHN 17:3) has only one name, this would mean he does not have many names. It is true he has many titles, but they are only titles not names, nothing more nothing less.
The problem with Chalcedon it is makes it sound like Jesus did miracles by his own attributes of deity. But Scripture does not bear this out. The book of John illustrates many times that Jesus did miracles by the Father dwelling in him in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is why Jesus did no miracles in his childhood, or early adult life. It was after the Holy Spirit came upon him that the miracles started. Hope that helps.
@@agentclol According the Scriptures, especially John's Gospel, Jesus was a man whose identity was that of the 2nd person of the Trinity, the Logos made flesh. He did his miracles after the Holy Spirit came upon him by the power of the Father working in and through him. He did not do miracles by his own attributes of deity.
@@Mike65809 He clearly stated in the Wedding at Cana that at that point in time, it wasn't His time yet to do miracles, as He wasn't doing His ministry yet. His miracles come part and parcel with His ministry. Apparently His Mom and likely His foster Dad knew but they kept mum about it, but it did not stop His Mom from having Him intervene and perform one to help the newlyweds on their special day.
To say that the Holy Spirit came upon Him at a certain point in human life is risking the heresy of separating the Trinity just because the Son assumed humanity on earth. He was always God on earth while also man. You cannot separate the fact that the Father and the Spirit are always with Him, as they are, rather, He is God. This is why we read several passages saying that He was filled with the Holy Spirit, or that the same Spirit drove Him to do things.
@@gstrikr7 I can't agree. He is the "anointed one" or Christ, just because the HS came upon him, as the scripture plainly states, otherwise the Spirit descending upon him as a dove was just a show and didn't do anything. One problem with believing Jesus was fully God in his attributes and not just identity (in the time of his Incarnation) is that we end up with a split Jesus between his humanity and divinity. I know Chalcedon addresses this simply by saying there was no division, but that is a cop out. Jesus had to learn wisdom as a child and even as an adult, still did not know the day or hour of his return. To split him between his humanity and divinity is a Nestorian understanding which is not correct. If you let the Scripture define him, you will end up with him emptying himself of the miraculous to become a man and only doing miracles by the "Father working in me," as he said. He did his works and spoke his words only as the Father directed him. As for his miracle as Cana I am not sure what his mother was thinking because he did not do miracles as a child. If he did, I would imagine his family would have believed in him, but they didn't, as the text says in Jn. 7.

Jesus praying to the Father since He is incarnated in human condition really doesn't prove the unitarian heresy or erase all the biblical passages where the Trinity is referenced and the doctrine of the original Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. So please have the good sense to acknowledge that.
Jesus said "I came down from heaven" and "I am from the realms above". This was Not Almighty God talking but His SON, Jesus Christ! So just as the 'saints' "will all be changed, that which is pysical will BECOME spiritual" Jesus did that in AREVERSE! His prehuman existance as the 'only begotten son from the Father" was changed from being a glorious Spirit ( see John 17:5) ti that of being a complete human being, as he said I CAM DOWN FROM HEAVEN. |This was No incarnation, It was NOT God himself coming to earth, being a little baby, needing food, getting tired, sleeping, praying to th Father for help! This was TOTALLY God's dear SON!
I prefer to heed the apostle Paul's words as he was the only person ever who was personally appointed by the resurrected Jesus Christ! "God is on one side and all people on the other side and Christ Jesus, himself man is between them to bring them together by giving his life for all mankind" ( 1 Tim 2:5,6 'The living bible'.) Here Paul uses ANTILUTRON the Greek word meaning a 'corresponding ransom' . This uphold God's law of a 'life for a life'. Thus Paul called Jesus the "Last Adam" (1 Cor 15:45) Thus It is clear from scripture that for the ransom sacrifice of Christ he could NOT be God himself but a perfect human being. Nothing More or less was required to balance out the sin we inherited from our first parent Adam. 'Trinitarians' dont understand this vital bible teaching!
Really… and with the plethora of interpretations of the Bible in the world today what makes yours the correct one? Is it the infallible one? If not, who really cares? On the other hand there is this to ponder and answer ‘IF’ you dare… History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century, just 75 years AFTER the council of Nicaea which began the Trinitarian doctrine and subsequent councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
I can generally agree with you as an Eastern-Orthodox, but you forgot to mention the most popular heresy today, namely the one of the Oriental churches, which rejects the two natures/hypostatic union, for a single nature and a claim that we can't comprehend the nature of God, while those who accept this heresy and then try to rationalize their christology are ending with either denial of the human nature, what leads to gnosticism, or claim that a human being is literally part of the Trinity/God, what leads straight to idolatry.
You distort the teachings of the Oriental Orthodox. The Incarnate Word, in our belief, is one nature out of two nature's fully human fully divine through hypostatic union. Word perfectly united the human essence to him while not changing God's head when he took on humanity. Through his union with the body, the limitless God became limited and the invisible God became visible with the same appearance as us, the eternal God died in the flesh he fully united with. In the same way, human flesh united with logos without losing any of the characteristics of humanity. The body of the incarnate God possesses every attribute of divinity and is not only a body following the hypostate Union. Jesus flesh now gives life and is worshipped. God became man so that man could become God, according to Saint Atenetitous. There is no separation in the nature of the incarnate word after the hypostatic because of the two natures are united as the two substance united to become one substance like wise two natures united without mingling in perfect union.
@@equalityandjusticeforall3190 The whole problem is, that the Hypostatic Union means unification of Jesus and Logos into a single Hypostasis, or Person of Christ, while the two natures remains fully distinct, and doesn't exclude each other in any way within this Union, so we're talking about a single Hypostasis or Person, with two distinct natures, meanwhile the Oriental churches recognize Christ as a single nature, with two distinct persons, what contradicts the Hypostatic Union, and leads straight to idolatry, as you've demonstrated, by mixing humanity with divinity.
“Surely, they have disbelieved who say: ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary.’ But the Messiah [i.e. Jesus] said: ‘O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord, and your Lord.’” Qur’an 5:72
Jesus was a metaphor for the New Adam that arises within everyone that repents. All believers in YHWH have the same incarnate God nature that fights our 1st Adam. It was ALLEGORY or metaphor about each believer. Not a literal God man. No one can die to pay our sin debt of eternal death. If so he would still be dead.
The Jesus of the new testament is the 'son of God'. As John summed up his gospel "These things have been written that you may believe that Jesus Christ is the SON OF GOD" ( John 20:31). When accused of being God, Jesus replied "I am God's son" (John 10:36). So who are we to believe? you're missing the CONTEXT (when i was a protestant i did that too!), Our Lord also said 'call no man teacher' (rabbi) - I guess you have no objection to school teachers. St Paul referred to himself as a 'father' in the spiritual sense. The Lord Jesus in St Matthew chapter 23 was condemning the scribes and the Pharisees' pride in their function and titles ('master' 'teacher' 'father') - He did not literally mean those 3 titles/words could never be used. At the Last Supper the Lord established His priesthood. the Bible is not as one dimensional as protestants think and a sentence should NEVER be taken out of context.
If you want salvation, you must worship one God who has no partner. I hope you adhere to the monotheistic Christianity brought by Jesus (peace be upon him) and not the polytheistic Christianity with multiple gods. Jesus guided you to worship one God and never said that He is God Himself. You believe that Jesus was human and he was killed and crucified, so how is it possible for God to be killed and crucified ?

Freedom of belief is one of the most important human rights, so you have the right to believe what you are convinced is true. Also, every person has the right to explain his beliefs to others without offending their beliefs. I personally respect all religions and beliefs, and the difference in our religions and beliefs does not spoil the love between us.
In the Bible you will find by comparing Rev. 22:16 with Rev. 22:6-9 that a Holy Prophet Jesus sent, who has seen God clearly face to face in heaven calls Jesus LORD GOD of the Holy Prophets. Let's break this down.... 1. Jesus says He sent His Prophet. Only God can send His Prophets. 2. The Holy Prophet Jesus sent says Jesus is LORD GOD of the Holy Prophets. I'm sure God's Holy Prophets know who God is. 3. This Prophet is a UNIQUE VOICE IN THE BIBLE. Why? So, if you were raised to believe in Allah then right at this very moment, the odds are overwhelming, that you would be quoting from the Koran and you would be absolutely convinced that Islam is the true religion. Or, if you were born in Japan and raised by Japanese parents you would at this very moment believe just as strongly in Buddha...or if you were born in Israel and raised by Jewish parents you would believe at this very moment just as strongly in the Jewish God. If you are honest with yourself you will admit that your answer is YES. And each religion says that only THEY are the TRUE religion. And each religion says you will burn in HELL if you don’t follow that particular religion. The result has been never ending wars and death. I prefer to believe in the scientific method of thinking. All religious people have the answers to every question. Scientists admit that they don't know the answers to everything. Scientists strive to find out the answers to difficult questions. Just because science doesn't have all the answers does NOT prove that there is a God.
@@heather1985october I was raised non-religious in a secularist country, and I am now a Catholic, by the grace of God. Many people of every non-Catholic worldview have converted to the Catholic Faith, despite their upbringing or surroundings, which refutes your point. If you were raised by and among atheists, you have to admit that you yourself could be blindly accepting atheism only for that reason. If you were not, you have to admit that you also changed your opinion for some other reason than merely your upbringing or surroundings. Many atheists who flatter themselves with the name of 'scientist' do pretend to have the answers to certain very important questions (the age of the universe, the origin of life and mankind, whether there is abundant evidence for a spiritual world and God, etc.), but they most definitely do not. If you are honest, you will have to admit that *1. the existence of many contradictory opinions around the world does not prove that none of them can be correct* and that *2. the absence of a certain opinion in even a large part of the world does not prove that it cannot be correct.* Please let me know if you understand these simple facts.
You are talking of a being outside of Time, Space and Matter, indeed, the very source of being itself. We can only understand it imperfectly, it is logical but unfathomable from our limited perspective. That might sound like a cop out, but consider this: a square is 2D, with all the corners at right angles. A cube is a square in 3D, with all the corners at right angles. A tesseract is a cube in 4d, with all the corners at right angles. A tesseract makes logical sense, but it's unfathomable from our limited 3D perspective.
Jesus is the eternal Word and God himself. Who manifested in flesh as man the son of God(last adam). He is not eternal son but eternal word with the Father.
Word and Son are used synonymously. Sonship just means that the Word is relationally distinct from the Father by way of Filiation (the Son is eternally generated through an intellective act by the Father and is the perfect image or Word of the Divine Essence.) When we say "eternal son" we are not asserting that the incarnation is eternal, we are just saying the Word is eternal. I believe you are misunderstanding the term Son and applying the concept of incarnation to it.
Why quote the 'chuch fathers'? Most of them were interllectual philosophers steeped in Greek thought! Just stick to the Holy scriptures which say nowhere that Jesus was 'true God & true man'! The great Creator of the universe has never for a split second been anything less than what he is! To suggest that part of Him became a mere human being is actually blasphemy! Jesus always extolled and directed worship to his FATHER, not to humself; "The true worshipers will worship THE FATHER in Spirit and truth" ( John 4:23,24) Amen
Why quote the church fathers??? History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time.
Is the Trinity true? “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one! Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:4 “You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you did love Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. Yoḥanan (John) 14:28 Yeshua said these words, and lifted up His eyes to the heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come. Esteem Your Son, so that Your Son also might esteem You, “And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Messiah whom You have sent. Yoḥanan (John) 17:1, 3 Yeshua said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Elohim and your Elohim.’ ” Yoḥanan (John) 20:17 “He who overcomes, I shall make him a supporting post in the Dwelling Place of My Elohim, and he shall by no means go out. And I shall write on him the Name of My Elohim and the name of the city of My Elohim, the new Yerushalayim, which comes down out of the heaven from My Elohim, and My new Name. Ḥazon (Revelation) 3:12 And you belong to Messiah, and Messiah belongs to Elohim. Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 3:23 For even if there are so-called mighty ones, whether in heaven or on earth - as there are many mighty ones and many masters - for us there is one Elohim, the Father, from whom all came and for whom we live, and one Master YESHUA Messiah, through whom all came and through whom we live. Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 8:5-6 one Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 4:6

🙏O Jesus, how sweet and thoughtful, You are! Thank You for the gift of You🙏
It was by God's grace that I saw and watched your video. What marvelous exchange! I understood because Jesus can only perform healing and miracles when He has a human body. Therefore our bodies are sanctified because of Him! Thank you very much Thomistic Institute!
Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner! ❤ thank you
The Christology represented here is complete really erroneous both in terms of conciliar christology and in terms of apostolic christology
He humbled himself to share in our humanity so that we may be able to share in His Divinity- Marvelous!
He isn't what u think he is turn away.
i wish everyone would devote their life for Christ ❤
Another way to look at this is thinking about how all humans are 100% the child of their mother and 100% the child of their father. We aren’t 50/50.
Thank you for explaining it so that this engineering mind can grasp it. Very well done!

So clear! thank you, Father!
Thanks be to God 🙏✝️

But they Say, "The Christ is the Son of God," for they Changed the Truth of God into a Lie, and Revered and Served the Creature More than the Creator

Short answer. Miaphysitism is heresy. Catholics are duophysitists.
Philippians 2:5-9
English Standard Version Anglicised
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
Reading the text it seems Jesus was fully God i.e. equal with him but did not hold onto that position but humbled himself and came in the likeness of men.

There is a question that we don't see much:
- Why is there a second person in the Trinity: Jesus?
Why the second person in the Trinity is also a man?
Because we were made in his image, and only by sacrificing Himself as a man could He pay our debt
If Jesus Christ is human and divine, does that mean Humann nature is also in Trinity inside Jesus?
It's easy to learn that "consubstantial" means "of one substance". May it spur the clueless to look up and ponder the meaning.
Searched for an apt answer and I found here.

First part of the video is all about the Church putting out fires left, right and center.

You still affirm Christ as man and God though right?
Why pray to mary and saints,if you believe that God ressurected his only son . Why if Peter proclaimed on the day of Pentecost that Jesus was ressurected, l think he quoted Psalm 110. So your prays to Mary and saints prove you do believe in the resurrection. Your jesus is still hanging on the cross.

John 17:1, 3
New King James Version
Jesus Prays:
17 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, (A)the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, ..
3 And (D)this is eternal life, that they may know You, (E)the only true God.
Jesus praying to the Father since He is incarnated in human condition really doesn't prove the unitarian heresy or erase all the biblical passages where the Trinity is referenced and the doctrine of the original Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. So please have the good sense to acknowledge that.
Be mortal and immortal at the same is illogical.
Not really. Not to me. Maybe it’s just not understandable to some, kind of like the pythagorean theorem.
Theological arguments.
Really…
and with the plethora of interpretations of the Bible in the world today what makes yours the correct one? Is it the infallible one? If not, who really cares? On the other hand there is this to ponder and answer ‘IF’ you dare…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time.
No intellectual person can ever understand Jesus. God was IN Christ... God was never a man
The Bible and the Church show literally the opposite no matter how much CAPSLOCK and ellipsis you use in your hererical lacking of good sense comments
don`t understand it
The Jesus of the new testament is the 'son of God'. As John summed up his gospel "These things have been written that you may believe that Jesus Christ is the SON OF GOD" ( John 20:31). When accused of being God, Jesus replied "I am God's son" (John 10:36). So who are we to believe? Jesus & his apostles? or much later monks, priests, theologians influenced by Greek philosophy & paganism!
read the first chapter of John
@@flavjetto123 Read the whole gospel, especially the end! "These things have been written, that you may believe that Jesus Christ is THE SON OF GOD and that believing you may have everlasting life!" ( John 20:31. This sums up the whole pupose of his gospel! Amen to that!
@@flavjetto123 Yes! this chapter makes clear that Jesus Christis the Son of God! Verse 14 "The word became flesh and we had a view of his glory, that of an ONLY BEGOTTEN from a Father". (Then John reinforces this in...) Verse 18 "No one has SEEN GOD at any time! ( Yet John 'saw' Jesus! So did his disciples and thee Jews!). So now read John 20:31; "These things have been written that you may believe that jesus Christ is the SON OF GOD and that by believing ( believing what?) you may have everlasting life".
the old heresies are back , dumber than ever
Matthew 23:9 KJVS
[9] And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
you're missing the CONTEXT (when i was a protestant i did that too!), Our Lord also said 'call no man teacher' (rabbi) - I guess you have no objection to school teachers.
All clear? No... it still a mystery 🤨
If you want salvation, you must worship one God who has no partner.
I hope you adhere to the monotheistic Christianity brought by Jesus (peace be upon him) and not the polytheistic Christianity with multiple gods.
Jesus guided you to worship one God and never said that He is God Himself.
You believe that Jesus was human and he was killed and crucified, so how is it possible for God to be killed and crucified ?
and with the plethora of interpretations of the Bible in the world today what makes yours the correct one? Is it the infallible one? If not, who really cares? On the other hand there is this to ponder and answer ‘IF’ you dare…

Why? He is the only one `having seen God face to face in heaven', SEEING GOD CLEARLY, to tell us Jesus is GOD!
NO ONE IN THE BIBLE HAS SEEN GOD FACE TO FACE IN HEAVEN TELLING YOU JESUS IS LORD GOD OF THE HOLY PROPHETS, except for the Holy Prophet Jesus sent!!
que tiene que ver el trisquel con la Tradición Católica? esto me parece heretico
There is no such thing as ‘the Eternal Son of God’?! 🤦♂️ The Second Person of the Trinity, the Son of the Father, is God Himself (Jn.1:1) NOT ‘God’s son’.
The Son of God is temporal and refers to the Messiah/Christ as the HUMAN incarnation of YHWH (Jn.1:14).

If you had been born in Saudi Arabia and raised by Muslim parents then right at this very moment you would believe in Islam and Allah and Mohammad! Can you understand that simple fact? Please let me know.
So?
Not necessarily. People who were raised by Mohammedans can convert to the true Faith, just as people who were raised by Catholics can apostatise and follow a false prophet to their destruction.
@@jaspermay5813 Hi Jasper May and Hi also to JP. Thanks for your comments. The point that I am trying to make is that the overwhelming majority of people just blindly accept the religion that they were taught to believe in.

How God creates God? How God have God? This thing always make Christianity none sense for me.
God beget.
You believe in the incarnation sonship?
Word and Son are used synonymously. Sonship just means that the Word is relationally distinct from the Father by way of Filiation (the Son is eternally generated through an intellective act by the Father and is the perfect image or Word of the Divine Essence.) When we say "eternal son" we are not asserting that the incarnation is eternal, we are just saying the Word is eternal. I believe you are misunderstanding the term Son and applying the concept of incarnation to it.
The theology concept is merged to mitras gods
Why quote the 'chuch fathers'? Most of them were interllectual philosophers steeped in Greek thought! Just stick to the Holy scriptures which say nowhere that Jesus was 'true God & true man'! The great Creator of the universe has never for a split second been anything less than what he is! To suggest that part of Him became a mere human being is actually blasphemy! Jesus always extolled and directed worship to his FATHER, not to humself; "The true worshipers will worship THE FATHER in Spirit and truth" ( John 4:23,24) Amen
