I love that these two get on well , when Stephen played just like was being explained here ppl thought they didn’t get on, that’s was my true, Ronnie always said he thought Stephen was his hero but hendry couldn’t think that way when he was active, he was a bit like the old tiger where he didn’t give a f who you were , how nice you were etc he was beating you and that was it!. There's a distinction there. Quite a stark one at that. There's Hendry and Steve Davis, pure dominance and competitive excellence, calculated, emotionless. Clinical. Then there's Jimmy and Alex, creative geniuses, savants of the game. The opposite of clinical. You love to see them play, but that's it, they play. They do ridiculous stuff, and it's amazing. These are four absolute legends, but on the opposite spectrum. Ronnie is the only player that belongs to both groups. He's a legend belonging to both groups. For this reason Ronnie is my GOAT, despite some of the absolutely obnoxious Ronnie fans that feel the need to knock legends in their own right like Selby. Until Ronnie's 7th world title Stephen was my GOAT, but with that title it's become undeniable. Ronnie is it! Now Brecel is the first player since long that has achieved tremendous success with his world title while falling in the non-clinical group (ok, there's Judd, but his outrageousness seems more when the frame is as good as clinched, still, deserves a mention). Realistically, he'll never come close to Ronnie in his career, but an absolutely amazing achievement nonetheless! I hope he wins plenty more tournaments, because he excites me the same way Ronnie used to do...
@@wickedymike I genuinely believe there is a young player out there, (probably Chinese), who has been watching Hendry, O’Sullivan, Selby, Higgins and Williams and learning what it takes to win. It seems impossible to us now to think of Ronnie’s natural talent and achievements being bettered but eventually a player will eclipse him. The match between Si and Luca took the game to another level of ultra-aggressive snooker which will become the new standard in years ahead. A dominant player will emerge who will win 10 World Championships … Ronnie has set a target for young players to aim for.

How do these two play a game of snooker in a relaxed setting like this? I know it won’t be anywhere near as competitive as when they met as pros but do they still aim to rack up 60-70-80 breaks?
Accept that your abundance of emotions is an inseparable and necessary feature of the talent you have. Like most ultra talented people you have a task in channeling these emotions the right way. Controlling a volcano is absurd. You don’t need pharma, you need extra love and attention. The club of 27 are the failed examples of channeling…. Btw you are doing a great job.
Ronnie couldn’t perfect the game? Genuine question to snooker lovers as I’ve thought he was right up there and always found Stephen to be really boring and not what I would see as perfect at snooker. I thought Stephen was good but Ronnie was great but there’s much more qualified people than me to make a case for Stephen or Ronnie.
Ronnie's a perfectionist, and it's impossible to perfect the game. He was forever chasing the impossible. Ronnie is the greatest, and Stephen, though a winner, is realistic enough about his own talent to acknowledge that. They both have genuine respect for each other. Ronnie sometimes wishes his had Stephen's unemotional winner mentality (easier life without the deep emotions!), Stephen admires Ronnie's pure talent and longevity.
O'Sullivan doesn't feel for anyone. He's selfish and only feels for himself... Saying to Hendry are you feeling alright is just another way of patronising him after the defeat. O'Sullivan is not a nice person. A genius on the table, but a horrible person, who talks nonsense in interviews all the time.
Ronnie is just such a gent. Proper genuine real gentleman… Still on SPOTY though which is one of the strangest and greatest mysteries yet they give it to Andy Murray among others who don’t even know the meaning of what having a personality is!
