Nice build! I'll likely give this one a try. Quick tip for building in case anyone needs it: You can cycle through snapping points on the build piece you're placing using Q and E. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but it makes placing roof peaks and crosses or anything where you don't have much space to aim /*way*/ easier. The bulkier build pieces, like stone walls, have a snapping point at each corner. It can be a lot to cycle though at first, but it makes building curved stone walls easier imo.
Nice little but appealing build. Some thing that is not working is the chimney. You can see the smoke is not venting out. I think the half wall space for ging out is not sufficient.
@Donald Rohrbacher yes and no. You can see in the video that there is too little space for the smoke particles to move out. As long as the chimney is long enough, they will disappear by time, so your character will not be harmed. But they do not really ventilate out.
Super quick and simple but it still looks good. I wanted to thank you for making this begginer friendly (even with the chimney thing :p). I enjoyed your instructions and commentary along the way. Thanks!
Oh yeah. This is doable. I'm totally going to make this on my water front property. Currently occupying a three wall and thatch roof dig that's awesome.
Your chimney is blocked, that why your fire also went out @12:00 definitely a flaw in this design. Smoke needs 1m of space to escape/vent, you blocked it at the top (smoke can never travel through half blocks) Easy fix put the roof on the other side so that its higher. Not having smoke vent is one of the most common beginner mistakes ("Why do my fires go out?").
I appreciate the piece of advice. I learned this the hard way through others comments as well. I have an updated video here: ua-cam.com/video/SNWxEE9OP5A/v-deo.html
It's because the chimney opening is too small. Replacing the half wall at the top of the chimney with two 1 meter beams might give enough ventilation. If not replacing the full wall underneath with a half-wall or using a 45 degree roof piece or a peak on beams should work.
I always find using 1x2 walls on the bottom makes the build look messy if you want to add 1x1+ windows but regardless nice build edit: after seeing the interior, that chimney design isn't really very functional, probably re-think that for the next one
@@virosclipz oh no no,I tinkered around with the house I completely removed the ventilation problems. Also made a chest space on that part where you kinda extend the house, tore it down after I made a storage room outside.
Definitely not the easiest build! But also definitely some great pointers to go from easy to better looking lol. Which is good for us. we're just starting out
Finally a “ starter” house that doesn’t take total deforestation to build.
Not a single tree was chopped down considering that the devcommand cheat was used to build the house
Since I have a creativity of a shoe, my bases usually look like cardboard boxes. This video helped me build a nice looking small base. Thank you.
Nice build! I'll likely give this one a try.

Notice your fire going out? It's being smothered, you need a 2×2 meter space for smoke particles to go through.

Chimney seems to be working fine for me.

Absolutely, thank you for the kind words!

Nice, well done, thank you! Long live to Valheim!🙂
Realy perfect and effecient for klassic beginner. Thax a lot for this tips. Y wish yo god luck. :D
look forward to more builds :)
fire keeps going out

Sweet.
nice and quick
this has quite a lot of smoke problems, can't make it work, but I can definitely live with it
There is an update chimney video on my page!

Very nice. I'll try something similar to this
that chimny is not working btw , the gap at the top is not letting out smoke , it needs to be bigger then 2x4 blocks

Sorry, but you will take smoke damage with the chimney design.

This are Meadows, not Mistlands! 😎

God I suck at building
