Railfanning Northstar Commuter Train Minneapolis, MN

7-9-18 We went to the Twins Cities for the weekend for railfanning and caught some Northstar at Fridley

the northstar used to run 2 times a day, but now in 2023 it runs 4 times a day

yes in the morning they have 3 inbound trains 1 outbound, and the afternoon they have 3 outbound trains and 1 inbound

Does BNSF always run through MN ?

The Northstar runs up the BNSF Staples Subdivision to Big Lake (hopefully all the way to St. Cloud in the future, bus service for now). BNSF has over 1500 miles of track in MN. Staples Sub goes NW from Minneapolis up to Fargo/Moorhead.
