    Just bought the 75anniversary ,,,watch this vid before attempting to strip it down. Easier for me to watch it being done ,,,than read the manual,,,thanks for your time and effort….

    Thank you for sharing your video! When you are inserting the bolt back into the slide, are there grooves or a notch to ensure it goes in the correct way (the top facing up, etc). I’m on the fence on getting this for the simple disassembly or the Kel-Tec P-17 for price.

    My first pistol. Had lots of stove pipes, then smoothed out. Likes copper plated types.

      super expensive for a .22 pistol $550.00. only runs on expensive CCI ammo..better of on a Taraus x22 only $325.00 and eats everything no jams and accurate...i have both so I know

      @JohnPublic-dk7zd 2 місяці тому

      @paulbunyun...I'll agree the gun a bit pricey, but ours will run any standard velocity, or faster, ammo...currently running very nasty federal range pack ammo through it, dud rounds will happen...cci costs too much to run on regular range visits (well, for us it costs too much), so we make do with cheaper bulk...nothing wrong with the tx22, they are known to run and run...

    Mine is extremely tight. Currently I can’t push in the upper release. And the slide release is very stiff. Check everything before you take delivery.

      Always put the safety ON before you try. If safety is off(so you can see the red) you can't disassemble the pistol.

    Okay...i tend to run a bore solvent patch through the barrel, let it steep for a few minutes, then run the brush through the bore...i know the dry brush won't damage the barrel, but i don't get running the dry brush through first...after running the brush through the 'wet' barrel, one dry patch, one oil patch, then dry patches until clean...please enlighten me on the idea i'm missing here...as for the bolt assembly we leave the spring in, but elsewise we do the same procedure...we clean after every range visit, usually running 50-100 rounds, because as you note .22 is dirty, every brand out here...we do like the gun, a lot...

      NRA instructor LOL. How about safety checking your firearm FIRST to make sure it’s unloaded. Seriously! Can’t even watch the video because I have no respect for someone that doesn’t do a basic safety check first. Bye!

    How often do you recommend "cleaning" your Ruger Mark IV? For instance, I'd usually use anywhere from 10-25 rounds at the shooting range. I'd go maybe 2-3 times a month(July/August), but more like 2. Possibly once a month from September-June.

    • @Godlyyy.
      @Godlyyy. 11 місяців тому +3

      Since no one responded to your question, ideally you'd want to clean it after EVERY range trip to not allow buildup. But, if you don't shoot too much, I would clean every 2 trips or so. It's gonna shoot no matter what, just all up to you!

      @@dbzownz12345 Similar to the Mark IV? Closest is going to be the browning buckmark. If you're just looking for .22's then there's the walther P22, FN 502, Glock 44. Can't really go wrong with either. The 502, seems pretty nice!

      @@Godlyyy. I'll look into them. I really was looking to go to the shooting range maybe once every 2-3 months so I wanted a reliable firearm that wouldn't need cleaning too often. Been told the P22Q isn't great for that target practice & was told by somebody at gunshop I went to. Apparently it can jam up after so many shots? Do you share that opinion? I know Glock's are solid buy too

      You go to the range twice a month and you shoot 25 rounds, then you leave? 25?

    Extra lubricant picks up carbon and makes sludge. Great comment. Thanks.

    • @JohnPublic-dk7zd
      @JohnPublic-dk7zd 2 місяці тому

      That is very true...but some guns just like to be run 'wet', our lcp ll a perfect example...it starts getting filthy around 60-70 rounds, and by 100 it wants to gag...the flip side is the gun usually can reach 100 without any failures if the ammo cooperates...we clean if just one (1) round fired, so the sludge gets removed...the flip side, our 22/45 lite gets very little lubrication, as it seems to prefer that...gotta go with every gun on an individual basis, they will let you know how they like to be run...

    Dry brushing a barrel is literally the worst possible way to clean it. If you want the gun to remain accurate, you need to use solvent soaked patches and a rod ONLY. Those stiff copper brushes are for cleaning chambers.. not for cleaning barrels.

    • @Mr-117

      Nope. Lol just nope. Barrel will be fine. Plenty of arguments and videos and reading material proving otherwise if ya dont believe a comment from a stranger, but no need to be scared. Fcat check yourself on that and don't just look at arguments that agree with you lol.
