We have a store in nearby Ann Arbor that sells the Filson Mackinac Cruisers. I initially bought the regular one, and it was nice, but I could feel the breeze through it, and knew that it would not be what I wanted here in Michigan. So I went back and got the double (which has a second layer "cape" over the arms, shoulders, and the top half of the back and chest, there are two layers of wool). Now, the double is great, and I would get that if you're going to be out and about in cold weather. The double is worth every penny you pay extra for. I was able to wear the double in weather down into the low teens. The single, I would not have been able to do that. The single is more for cool weather, not cold (unless you have extra layers).
Gonna be real here, it's less "work wear" but the Schott NYC 32 Oz Peacoat is this thing but better for almost half the price. Filson is way overselling these. I think I'm going to buy the peacoat and modify it to be more outdoorsy, leather patches where needed and whatnot.
Found one of these today! Absolutely gorgeous. You won't believe this but it looked brand new. The store is called "The Shed". It consists of many different booths owned by vendors of collectibles, from comic books, knives, furniture, clothes and on and on.... This Mackinaw Cruiser was hanging in one of those booths. I've had my eye on it for a while. It was priced at $285.00 for awhile. Went in today.... Here's the clincher. $50.00!! I'm telling ya, I was blown away. Best purchase I've made in quite awhile. Forest green color. Brand new in looks and feel. 👍

I've just bought a Macinaw Jac shirt and like it but wonder if I should have got one of these. Not many places to see these and try them on in the UK where I am. Still great quality products...

Nice stuff and review, can you tell me about what size you bought the jacket, and your size, just to get an idea, reason being is i am a size 42/44, but 6ft tall, and can't decide between the regular or long version of it.. And there isn't any retailers in my area, so trying one on, is not possible...Thanks for your time!
Hi, I normally wear a large and purchased a 42 regular in the Alaska fit. The Seattle fit was too narrow in the arms for me. It sounds like you may fit into either a 42 or 44 regular. The best bet is to call Filson, share your measurements and get a professional size recommendation from them. The extra-long sizes are 1 1/2 inches longer in the sleeves and body. If you read the reviews, most of the folks buying the extra-long garments are 6' 3" or taller. Best of luck

I have four mackinaw cruisers and three Filson cape coats. I always wear the mackinaw cruiser when driving my convertible Ferrari.
