- LED video lights have an optional handle battery like the ZSYB 100w battery handle for the Yidoblo 100w LED light and the Zhiyun X100 plus the handle battery by Colbor and others. Do I like them? Are they worth it for video LED lights and portable video lighting like wedding video and photography lights and lighting?

It's so much fun to be talking to other professionals in the field, and have them mention, "Have you seen that Markus guy on UA-cam? He's the BEST!" I always reply, "Take a look around my set. Most of the gear you're seeing was tested and recommended by him!" (like the Manfrotto geared head that CHANGED MY LIFE!!) Please don't EVER stop doing what you're doing!
Camera conspiracies was talking you up recently and rightfully so! ❤️

As someone who has no interest in handle battery. I was indeed here just to hang out with Markus 😂
Just commenting and liking to show support
This man has ALL the toys lol. It’s great.
Weight and balance are some fundamental facts often overlooked by many professionals in this field, so it is a very valid point mentioning how heavy it is to be placed on top of a light stand.
I have learned a lot in my 40+ years as a professional photographer. Really appreciate your observations and recommendations!
To be fair, hummus is delicious! 😄
We use a Osmo Pocket 2 to record our local neighborhood poetry readings and use a 'smatree portable Osmo Pocket 2 battery grip' to power the camera beyond its own capacity. It's a bit bulky beyond the actual camera but delivers in terms of extending the camera's recording capacity while remaining inconspicuous on a tripod.
From this perspective it's a 'yes' vote, at least in terms of Osmo pockets 1 & 2. (we haven't found a need for the 3, yet)
Btw your content is always excellent, keep it up.
Hug from San Francisco!
I bought a much smaller one before, to keep my ZV-E10 going for longer between battery changes.
I also bought a dummy battery that works via USB PD, but that wasn't ideal because if the cable from the powerbank gets knocked, the camera will turn off and whatever you were recording gets corrupted.
And when you plugged it into the wall, it would mess up the audio (even external input), I guess because of noise from the AC side.
Markus ??? attach a tripod mount to the bottom, then your selfie pole yes you need a lead but all the weight at the bottom makes it more stable . The only problem is are they allowed on flights
U mean a tripod leg base?
Then have the center column above the battery? That's a great way to increase the stability of stands! 👍
This new to me.... I guess they are cool, but I wouldn't get one... besides, I too have tons of gear. NOOO MOOORE..😊
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Markus fun stuff
Help, I’ve been diagnosed with GAS. I purchased 2 of these plus two lights that I totally don’t use or need since I have other lights that I don’t use or need. 🤷♂️😂
TY.
Markus, have you considered an update on the best nonDSLR cameras for video? My GX8s are wearing! As always thanks for all the tips you share.
Can the 🔋 of such handles be replaced? If yes, then it may be more worth getting. Especially if one can source for 🔋 of a better make.
Otherwise, the whole gadget would last only as long as the 🔋 that came with it.
I use one with my RX100 Mkvii for videoing on the go.
Thats like using a nuclear reactor to power a motorcycle
@@MarkusPix Yup, but I use a handle anyway so why not a power bank? I can video all week never having to change a battery.
I think if you bring that first handle battery on the plane TSA may say no cause there is a max capacity of batteries now-a-days.
100w, so they're ok
❤❤
You want the best a mam | man can get, they got 2 & 3 squirt gun batteries. So virtually, it's the lightest per cheap in the whole world. Then a buck step down is a 1.50$ bucks. A pair of 0.3mm aluminum, where is it going? 5x10's, pull it together with hose clamp and a bead of dry crazy adhesive. The next step up is your dirt bag 4s, it's much crapier to death, but you don't have to store it at 35%, the squirt gun batteries are mathematical parallel plate lithium. So then tap in tab 9s plus 5g battery, just grab the first thing Temu, *_313 marker ohuahua YES THEY GAVE ME_*
You seem to have a 'handle' on your equipment.
Not for me.
Poor design IMO. 😢

Hey Markus, long time follower of your channel! Love your content.
I have a question for you. We make outdoor adventure films, and currently use Sony a74 and it’s great. However we run into this issue where we always need to zoom way in, but also need talking head shots in the same setting. It’s a lens switching rodeo! We are usually in dirty and dusty environments so switching lenses can be a pain, especially dozens of times a day.
Here’s my question. We’re looking for a camera (camcorder) that will shoot good quality 4k, has a sensor good enough for outdoor low light and has a built in lens that can handle a 600mm equivalent zoom.
Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Sony Z90V or AX700 ua-cam.com/video/tqT7samSjsw/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/cwmOsquyiM8/v-deo.html
or smaller, lighter, more affordable option, Panasonic VX981 VX981 zoom ua-cam.com/video/KmZH3rGjjlQ/v-deo.html
and ua-cam.com/video/JZ-ERztAd2M/v-deo.html
Just remember with camcorders you won't get the super blurry background as with full frame.
I'm not a fan of that battery. heavy, wouldn't fancy holding that up for long with a camera in the other hand or camera mounted.
I'd like to see a drone carrying lights with a voice control.
- Alexa, move the light 10 degrees to the left!
- Moving the light 10 degrees to the left. By the way, a new second generation light drone is available now, would you like to purchase it?
😁
This handle battery is a neat idea, but it is just not for me. Personally, I prefer the NP battery handle that comes with the Neewer MS60C.
Thank you for doing these videos.
can you please take a picture with same camera specs of all your leds lights at 100% same distance pls to SEE how much light there is for real
Most of these large batteries will get taken out of your suitcase check in or carry-on so if you're traveling by airplane forget it
Good stuff!
Did you use the hummus joke because of my name ?
Hammer Handle?
Good info as always !
💯❤❤❤❤❤💯
I probably missed it but what is the lightweight light stand you showed with the blue accenting? Thanks!

@@MarkusPix thank you fella! 🙏
@markuspix Question: Is there a pocket-size off-camera flash? I would love to carry an off-camera flash on the street. Also: why is it that no camera manufacturers have included a trigger in their hardware? For God sake Sony - work with Godox and just include the radio trigger in the body.
AD100 is my fav compact flash ua-cam.com/video/7HYD9r1ZeAs/v-deo.html
Just got my first experimental order from Canvas Chimp, and I love it! Super-cheap, and great way to show off photos. Now I want to take more pictures. :-)
Hey Markus, Would you consider doing a video on lighting for eyeglass wearers and how to position lights when you don't have a camera man? Great video as usual. Thx
Having the option is always good, I kinda love that product.
Gracias, Markus 😊
I use a 99 watt handle battery (600 gr.) intended for the Color Wonder 100 on a light boom pole with a Godox LC30Bi (300gr.) as a counterweight.
I love that light, because of its built-in reflector, which results in very even lighting with virtually no hot spot.
In my opinion, a handle battery is perfect for such a scenario. I think having different battery types in different designs makes you more flexible for different use cases.
which handle battery
@@Chris-fq3nr Somehow my answer seems to have been deleted - perhaps because of the link to Amazon.
However, you can find the part if you enter the following in the Amazon search:
Colbor Power Grip 6600mAh 98W
The 400 gr. weight stated in the article description refers to the 77 watt version that is also available.
The price is not cheap and for considerably less you can get a power bank of the same power with PD 100 watts - but it is more complicated to attach than this part with its 1/4 " connection at the top and 1/4 " thread at the bottom.
The battery handle also has an additional 14.8 volt D-Tap connection, which delivers up to 10 A, i.e. 148.5 watts.
An identical white label version of the Colbor W100 light and battery handle is also available from Rollei.
