      @@GrillinandChillinwithColeman O wow, don't think you could go wrong there. Great visibility and I've always loved the design, stands out from 172's. I'd get one '69+ with at least 180HP though. A guy in our chapter has an 200HP RG, it can be surprising how long it takes to get off the ground on a warm day. I've flown 172's from 150-180 hp and there's times you definitely appreciate the extra ponies on tap. As always, make sure you get a good pre-buy.

      Thank you my friend. I made the same turkey again today and it went over well. Thanks for watching and the feedback. One thing I found that improved the rub was to add 1/2 cup of avocado oil before I blend it. It seemed to spread better.

    I smoke turkeys but only once year, so I like to watch videos to get my head around it again. This is probably one of the best vids I've seen. Couple of questions though... I didn't catch a cooking temperature. Also, you added hot sauce to your brine. Some people don't like spicy. Because you only added it to the brine, I'm wondering what that adds to the turkey? Thanks in advance!!

    • @GrillinandChillinwithColeman
      @GrillinandChillinwithColeman  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching Rex and I appreciate the kind words. I smoke the turkey at 350, and it took this 13 pound turkey about 3.5 hours. I add the hot sauce just to give it an extra layer of flavor. it does not add any heat to the turkey, but it does help round out the Surat that I added. I also think it adds to the color. Again, I appreciate you watching. Please consider subscribing. Also, email me your address and I will send you out a G & C sticker.

      Great question! I slipped and forgot to film that part. The first thing I do, is strain out all the solids with a colander . Next I skim out all the oil by letting it sit for a few minutes. In a few minutes, the oil with come to the top and I spoon it off. Lastly, I put the broth in a sauce pan and slowly stir in some flour or corn starch until it thickens. Thanks for watching.
