He's talking nonesense. There is enough capacity in the national grid even if everyone transitioned to using electric cars. In fact, right now the percentage of the capacity we're using is well below that of a few decades ago. Furthermore the vast majority of electric cars get charged overnight when nobody is using electricity anyway, so it's really not going to be a burden on the grid at all. Batteries lose capacity in these temperatures and it can take 2 hours to drive between adjacent towns. Fossil fuels are the only viable energy source. Although there is widespread belief that fossil fuel consumption is a major contributory factor in climate change, there is no definitive proof as to what extent it contributes, if it does at all. Also, supposed green systems are proving to be not quite as green as it has been suggested. In fact, it is quite possible that more fossil fuel will be used to build and run the so called green systems than the current use of fossil fuels.

It was interesting to read that in a survey of scientists by IPCC it removed all those who expressed the view totally against climate change and included those that were undecided as a for vote. hence the fallacy that 97% of scientists agree with climate change. "...a breath of fresh air." Well, THAT would be a welcome situation, Pete.
Why are you listening to a physicist handpicked by GB news over the thousands and thousands of climate scientists contradicting this guy?
He's talking nonesense. There is enough capacity in the national grid even if everyone transitioned to using electric cars. In fact, right now the percentage of the capacity we're using is well below that of a few decades ago. And the more people have solar panels and wind turbines on their houses, the more that's gonna reduce as well.
Furthermore the vast majority of electric cars get charged overnight when nobody is using electricity anyway, so it's really not going to be a burden on the grid at all. I don't know what nonesense he was saying about digging up transformers in back gardens.
Finally, you can quite comfortably power every country in Europe with about a thousand square miles of solar panels in the Sahara desert. So I don't know the nonesense he was talking about running out of renewable energy. It's just not true. What kind of physicist is he? Something the activists completely ignore is turning off the oil spigot without a replacement would cause a world-wide famine. The level of suffering would be immeasurable.
Absolutely correct they talk about Tipping points, stoping extraction of oil before we have real world solutions to power the world would be a un-recoverable Tipping Point.

I wish Brian had asked the toe rag what papers he has ever published.
As an engineer in Canada I have a little experience with energy systems for buildings. I have designed heating systems for buildings where the temperature can stay below -50C all day.
Well lets be real here, we both Canadians, we contribute about 1.5 % of the worlds pollution yet we need to change? The climate terrorists wont go to china or russia or india to tell them to drop their 15-25% but they tell us we need electric when its horrid to the environment, justin gonna try us like this forsure, its why we payin an extra 25c a litre
Not to mention the devastation and death in the Congo mining the Cobalt for all these batteries!
I watched a documentary screened on NZ Television a while back and you are indeed correct with your last statement.....just talking about C02 emissions in fully electric car production, that production puts around 18-20 tons of C02 into the atmosphere, whereas construction of a fully fossil fuel car produces 6-8 tons of C02

Pure reasonable knowledge. The eggs think they are smarter than the chicken. Thank you, Brian, for your expertise.
Finally they let someone sane speak about IPCC corruption etc
The IPCC are just another undemocratic NGO ( lackies of the biggest NGO, the UN. Their publications are NOT by scientists but are their interpretation of what some scientists say.
IPCC panel has 75% climate activists with no scientific qualifications relevant to climate. They are mostly mathematicians and psychologists. UN is similarly totally in awe of climate change. If you read in depth about climate change only about 18% of scientists are wholly in favour of this hysterical view regarding climate change and CO2, the vast majority are neither on one side or the other and have serious doubts. It was interesting to read that in a survey of scientists by IPCC it removed all those who expressed the view totally against climate change and included those that were undecided as a for vote. hence the fallacy that 97% of scientists agree with climate change. As someone else said, 97% is not a consensus it is dogma.
@@Goldenlion148 the scientific consensus is not 97%, it's 100%. Scientists round the world check each other's papers like the rest of us would spend our 'me time' keeping our wits sharp with a strategy game or a cross word. There's no good news, the 3% turned out to have one or more of the same few errors that became well known and easily spotted. As for the rest of what you've said, the IPCC is very big, it needs statisticians to correlate it. If psychologists are qualified statisticians then that's all well and good, the old school like Freud and Jung were too anecdotal and gave clients no protection against pseudo science with a lower recovery rate than no therapy at all. Your self-qualifying 'if you read in depth' cliché did make me laugh; it doesn't qualify a statistic and it was a prelude to a preposterous lie so I'm grateful for that even though your lies disgust me. I love Nana's work as a host - very calm and even-handed, asking sensible questions, and allowing the interviewees to explain their positions. And in the case of the activist, spout a whole lot of well-rehearsed cliches, whether they're true or not. Brian Catt was all over it - well done.
I love how the older gentleman corrects her about the hottest day ever. Imagine that, it was hotter during the Roman and Greek eras than it is today. This is something the climate crisis clowns refuse to tell you.
Yes. Something that has been well known for a long time. And if you go back into geological times you find innumerable periods where it was much warmer. In fact, we are living in a cooler than average period and CO2 levels have been many times higher in the past. 4.o
So what? Does being wrong about the "hottest day ever" change the fact that the world has warmed immensely in the last 100 years as a result of man made carbon emissions?
@@ORagnar
...but they have not grown as quickly as they have since the 1800s and they are currently the highest for 400,000 years. You also neglect to mention that those periods when CO2 was higher and the earth warmer, the sea level was about 5m higher than today.

I can only assume that they meant pre ice age since I am also aware of the tectonic plates creating our current land mass in the modern context.
