Mr. Okoye, THANK YOU for your work! Throughout all genres even, I cannot think of anyone better at in-depth music interviews and even guest selection. As a child I read the credits, now I know the work that went behind the names in those credits and the phenomenal music that was produced. You are a 💎💎💎💎 to say the least! Thank you and I will support.

I remember buying the Nobody Knows 12" on the same day as I purchased Society Of Soul's Pushin' 12" & being mesmerized by both. I always felt that Babyface kinda copped Tony's style 4 a lot of the The Day album.

Yes ...the chord progressions of nobody knows is so similar to babyface go-to chord progressions...not discrediting tony and his brother for the incredible song "nobody knows ".

Can you please give me the Babyface songs that use the same chord progressions as Nobody knows🤔

@TALKBOXING1 I'm just saying that's why people think it's produced by babyface...Tony's vocal expressions and the way he walks up to the 5 chord back to the 1 chord In "nobody knows ". And that's most of babyface catalog in that era.

There tone is similar but that's it tony is very dark and touch on subject matters music is different. He was very different if you listen music you would know he was unique. Grass is green , bird's eye view, hey blue , my stomach hurts , no time soon, no laughing

IMO Rich in his own right is a phenomenal artist...Back when Nobody Knows 1st came out ,,I felt what was going on..LA Reid and Face had recently parted ways and LAReid put someone in place to fill that Babyface void...I personally think RICH was the Pawn put in place by the company to spite Face..
9.99 people out of 10 thought (and some still think) that FACE sings Nobody Knows...Its almost as if RICH perfected a song that was meant for FACE. but FACE was no longer recording with his LaFace partner LAReid..and company...I'm glad RICH got his shot but I feel he was used and discarded upon LAReid and FACE reunion..Gotta Love The Business..
Rich deserves Flowers for singing a Masterpiece of a song and His Brother penned a classic.

While Tony Rich has talent, make no mistake if he didn't sound similar to Babyface than La Reid aint working with him. Nobody knows sounds like a cross between Babyface meets Tom Petty. Its the chords and tone. He got signed and worked with LA Reid just like Bobby womack wearing Sam Cookes clothes and married to his wife, it aint rocket science
