Awesome game with you Matata. Wish you the best of luck in the tournament and rematch in the finals for sure! Crew, check out his channel for some amazing catan strategy videos and vibes. 🎉😎
2 people start the game with 3 resources (kinda) that don't synergy well and all of them end on 9 with everyone having winning chances. What a Game to watch and study. 23 trades, 74 trade offers and the diversity in those trades and discussions. This is definitely one for the books. And as usual DandyDrew leading the trades.
Amazing game, and what a baller game to start with! All 4 of these players are not just amazing players but have also been instrumental parts of champs history (and future)! Looking forward to some amazing games!
Praise the good Lord. Was so hoping for a new video after opening my laptop and booooooom. Thats a thumbnail I like to see! In all seriousness. Thanks Dandy! I already know its a banger!
Also, as much as a plow hurts, we have to agree that it’s part of the game and necessary for balance. It’s a legit strategy to start on the stronger Wood/Brick to try to get to the resources you don’t have faster, and if possible deny OWS players settle spots.
@@destrik4115 blocking is part of the game too, so its legit not to honor after plowing. Black thinks this is the correct play, but i actually disagree, i think the brick port of him has actually huge value with 2 3´s or 2 5´s. Legit just plowed him and still was butthurt " i have written here, this is the third time in a row u've done that so" talking about not respecting the non block, which is part of the game, just like plowing.
Hello Dandy! Been watching for about half a year now, huge huge fan. I wanted to reach out because I am participating in my first Catan tournament this month on the 18th in Denver, Colorado, and was wondering if you had any tips specifically for in-person tournament play. I’ve been playing locally and online for about 15 years now, and obviously you shouldn’t give all of your goodies and tips out, I understand entirely. However, any specific knowledge about in-person tournament play that a beginner in the pro-scene would benefit from, would be greatly appreciated. Again, huge huge fan, hope you’re having a fantastic New Year! Thank you for your time and videos!
Hi DDG! Thanks for the kind words. Nice to hear about your upcoming tournament. For the record, I’ve never held back on my strategies or tricks of the trade… We are here to grow the community and provide the best insights we can. First thing to know about in-person tournaments is that it’s usually made up of casual players with a few higher level players in the mix. I wouldn’t call the local qualifiers a pro-scene by any means. A lot of people get into their head about playing in these events and it holds them back from having the confidence to go for it. If you’ve been playing online for a long time and watch this channel, you are already in a great spot to compete. One of the key aspects of playing over the board is the social dynamics. Keep a fun and friendly presence from the time you meet the players and be lightly social. The ability to maintain a positive and enjoyable social image is one of the most powerful levers you can pull while playing in person. Most of the online players don’t appreciate it as much and can become a super power if you dial it in. You will get more trades, less blocks/steals, and just have more fun when you figure out the social game! The last piece of advice is playing solid setups! Focus on a going for a win condition (Army or road) and keep the play simple - Don’t try to get fancy or cutesy with your setups. Development cards are very strong in person and shouldn’t be avoided. Social game + playing fundamentally good setups could easily end up helping you win your first tournaments in person. Good luck and we are excited to hear how it goes!
@ Did my reply get deleted for a particular reason, or am I tripping and just accidentally didn’t send it and discarded it lol? Either way, my response (in short) was that I really appreciate the advice, you definitely remedied a lot of my concerns about over the board play and I’m super excited for the 18th. If I ever see u on Colonist in a ranked Lobby, I’ll be sure to say hello fs. Again, thank you so much for your time, I will definitely let you know how it goes after the fact and I hope to see more of your content in the future. Keep up the good work, phenomenal channel, I hope you and your family are in good spirits and health going into the New Year! Good Luck at World Championship in a few months! Rooting for you!
Really fun game! Small thing about your video, can you zoom in to fill the screen? I’m watching on a phone, and I have to zoom in. I’m not even that old. Or I have to get that screen somewhat close to my face.
Red and Black just blew it there with that trade, they all basically needed to port their ore / wheat away to make it more unlikely for you to hit. Great game though, congrats 🙂
4210 gives me a surplus of sheep which I know has early game trade value. I would rather have a trade-able resource early on than take a diverse but inflexible starting pick. 2310 gives me very little leverage to get my setup moving.
What is this clickbait? Good game, but a game like this happens every 2-3 days on Champs. Bucks clearly wasn't at 9, and what were those trades??? Very questionable moves. Drew got way too much help popping. How are they helping him fight for army after knowing he had 2 non-knights? Crazy! Noisepond played the best by far. Going to the wheat port instead of plowing the brick port was very smart.
The game ended 10-9-9-9. To say anyone helped too much when it balanced down to the very last turn makes no sense. It’s clear Bucksas wins with army, which is why they helped me dev while clearing my hand. It doesn’t take much to see that if they don’t help, the game is over even sooner. Not sure where your absolutely certain takes are coming from but they aren’t congruent with what actually happened.
GGs!!! What an epic game
I’ll see you in the finals 💪🏾
Awesome game with you Matata. Wish you the best of luck in the tournament and rematch in the finals for sure!

Im betting it all against you
From that starting position that was impressive. Convinced the table to gang up on someone with less points than you 😂

20:00 I honestly don’t think Ive seen Drew win a game without scamming
the better player scams, the suckers get scammed, they havent caught on that this extortions can just be ignored with no repercussion
nah bro this is CRAZY, these guyys are just cracked
Amazing game, and what a baller game to start with! All 4 of these players are not just amazing players but have also been instrumental parts of champs history (and future)!

Wow, dude! I thought you were click-baiting, but this is a fantastic game
great game. really cool seeing how pros work with players.
"oh yeah, where are my 2 cards a55hole?" 😂
Such an enjoyable game to watch. Great game to all four players Going to have to get back into Catan!
That’s what this channel is all about. 👏
Happy new year drew!
i am not feeling well. Your video put a smile on my face. TYSM Drew
Glad youre getting these MLC videos out right away! Excited for the whole season!! 😎
Wow we got some real beard action going on for this one
leaving blue the 6/5 was risky imo. That roadbuilder plough balanced the game a lot! Very interesting to watch!
Great watch. Had a few laughs while listening to the banter.
Praise the good Lord. Was so hoping for a new video after opening my laptop and booooooom. Thats a thumbnail I like to see! In all seriousness. Thanks Dandy! I already know its a banger!
Dunno why Black was pressed about Drew not honoring the non block literally right after plowing him
yeah it's pretty impressive how calm drew stayed about the plow imo.
You don’t? Because there was never an agreement not to plow, and the non-block was something Drew had agreed to. I would’ve been mad too
Also, as much as a plow hurts, we have to agree that it’s part of the game and necessary for balance. It’s a legit strategy to start on the stronger Wood/Brick to try to get to the resources you don’t have faster, and if possible deny OWS players settle spots.

Why are the numbers random? Will it be like that the whole tournament?
The players are playing on Base Random boards! As such, the numbers on the tiles won't follow a set spiral pattern!
Wow, never knew juicyj plays catan, nice 😮
Fun to watch!
BOOPERINOS!
The non block then also stealing is dirty

Also what a insane game this is how a game should go .
A lot to learn of this game alone.
6s were insane this game. What a game!
Dandy videos at 2am hit different
Amazing game, but pls remember to zoom in on the board 😂❤ can’t see sht on a phone
Shave Santa 😂😂😂
New Year, New Beard!! 🎉
@DandyDrew why you didn't take 2-3-10 as the second settlement?
4210 gives me a surplus of sheep which I know has early game trade value. I would rather have a trade-able resource early on than take a diverse but inflexible starting pick. 2310 gives me very little leverage to get my setup moving.
I had the 70'd like, im that guy..
i dislike you
Amazing game!!
Dandy beard emote incoming
holy goat
I don't think that there should be any communication between players in high end Catan tournaments.
blue sounds like such a baby
i'll be ur bby 🍑

Did my part. Stopped watching at 20:30 after he did a non-binding nb.
