Holoholo with Mark Noguchi - Chapter 2 "Soul" | Toyota Hawaii Stories

- At the base of the Wai‘anae mountain range sits Mākaha, a small beach town and stronghold of native Hawaiian values. It’s a place where children learn to fish, swim, and surf.
See how one dynamic couple is rewriting this narrative by growing and nurturing a family of ocean-minded keiki who are committed to reconnecting and making the environment a priority.
Join Mark as he travels to Mākaha to the home of Duane DeSoto and Malia Ka‘aihue, a husband and wife team with an impulse toward all things pono.
No matter what Kimi Werner and Mark Noguchi never fail to make me realise what is really important on a daily basis. Thank you for this gem of a documentary particularly at this time!

I’m late to see this but like the first Chapter I was glued to the screen. I got it... the beautiful words of the stories as if I was listening to prose of a writer. Such eloquence in her explanation (wow Malia), Duane I follow you #see #respect #preserve to carry on the cultural legacy, and Gouch! your laugh sounds like mines 😝👏🏻🤙🏻🙃. And now maybe I should buy a Toyota 😉
He says “you should be intimidated” when you come to Hawaii, so much for Hawaiian “hospitality” 😂
