this is a product of passionate people sharing a story that means everything to them and it's so beautiful in every way. Can't imagine how much effort went into this but it's so worth it in the end. Congrats Sam and Nainoa on this, thanks for sharing stories that matter with the world! :)
Wow Sam and Nainoa!! this such a beautiful video and i can really see your hearts went into every second of it! it really makes me happy seeing you guys spreading the love and warmth of your home and sending a strong message of sustainability through it too! the world needs more people like you guys! much love.
Ben S because U.S business men took over and took their land, and forced them to only speak English and took their traditions. And then for the U.S to apologize 100 years later. And yet people still ask why we say that we were robbed of our land and culture.
Being born and raised in Hawai'i I really thank you for not only including the beauty of the islands but the tragic events that have happened, I appreciate the time and effort you have taken to make this video. Ku Kia'i Mauna (:. Mahalo!
I had such a lump in my throat and tears running down my face watching this. I will never forget how my heart tightened and almost broke when I had to leave Hawai'i to go back home. Please let your friend know that I have done as he has asked: took a little bit of Hawai'i with me and left a little bit of myself there.
This is an artwork and a great example why. you inspire us all to go out and travel the world. To be honest guys, without beatiful destinantions, sam kolder, jr alli, naiona langer etc. we would never be so passionate about travelling. Thanks for always spreading the passion! Just because of you creators I started with my journey of experiencing the world and making adventurous travel videos!
“On an island you can feel isolated from the world. And maybe it’s in that isolation that we find togetherness. But Earth is an island in itself. One people. One planet. Aren’t we all in this together?” Beautifully said. I took away a lot from this video. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful, and a true work of art. These are the stories that need to be shared more often and I'm so glad BD is using that platform to share these stories!! Well done Sam & Nainoa. The true dynamic duo!!
I cannot describe how I feel after I watched this short film... I just could not stop watching! The pictures you captured are so beautiful and the message and the thoughts behind it are even more important. This is exactly how I want to travel trought the world. Not just being a typical tourist but to really see the place you are and to talk with the people there to get to know and to understand them. Because it is as you said that after that you can see the world through their eyes. And this plays an important role today I think! You say that all tourists should travel like this and I totally agree but my main problem is the language... So I'm from Germany and so I speak German and English. But to really get to know the people from all over the world when you are visiting very different places, it would be perfect to talk the language of the people there. In addition to that I really have no idea how to plan a trip like this where you don't stay in a hotel but in nature. This is exactly the kind of vacation I want to do and this thinking of living with respect for nature should have everyone! Do you have any advice for these people who want to do it but don't know how? Maybe a little special video? I would really appreciate this!!!
Unbelievable. Not many people out there are using their voice in film to cover these kinds of stories, props to you, Sam and the team on this, it's a masterpiece.
This just took Beautiful Destinations to another level not just about going places and taking pictures and showing the world you went somewhere, but also that you gave into the culture and its practice and that makes traveling beautiful. Very inspired
What islands are the best for solo travel? I am a photo/video creator going and don't know if i should do touristy Waikiki or try a smaller island for more of a "retreat"
Oh, Mr Potter, I am so glad that you’re doing this series. Your work gives me great hope that more people might learn to respect our island garden in space and embrace it with aloha. Thank you! Keep it up, young brother. Aloha!

I will be watching & discussing your video with my two girls, 9 & 12, before our trip this week from Kansas. I want them to understand the importance of respecting the people and the land. What a beautiful culture. I pray Hawaii plants a seed of values that have been lost with technology. This week we will all open our eyes more than our Instagram. You have made an impact. Thank you.

Wow.. just wow.. What a moving piece. I've been to a few of the Hawaiian islands and I have always felt so at home and so comfortable there. Connected, in a way. Especially in Kauai for some reason. Beautiful video. Thank you! It brought tears to my eyes. Fifteen years ago, I left Hawaii after living there a few years, and it has been in my heart ever since. The part that was the most sacred and special of my time there was the culture, the people, and nature. It truly changed me in so many ways. I hope and pray one day, I can go back and spend more time there.
Just wow. This was too good. Honestly super impressed about the sound design; great music choices, folio really adds to the atmosphere and the mixing absolutely on point. All of us Polynesians are related Hawaiians, Tongans, Samoans, Maori, Rarotongans, Tahitians, people of Rapa nui have the closest Language to us Maori but most words can be understood from each ethnicity.
The original settlers of Aotearoa were kanaka maoli from Hawai’i. The linguistic similarities between OleloHawaii and Korero Aotearoa are greater than the differences. The o’o or spade was taken with them on their journey for is was an important tool of agriculture and survival. The Maori developed it into the taiaha. Hey Benn Big fan ❣️🤛🤛
This really brought tears to my eyes. "Earth is an island itself, One People, One Planet" That touched my heart
I like the way you put that.. "Earth is an Island itself" Good stuff :)
True
Andrei Tamas 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sort of ironic though isnt it? If earth is an island itself, why do Hawaiian say people 'steal' their land? Does it not belong to all?
Ben S because U.S business men took over and took their land, and forced them to only speak English and took their traditions. And then for the U.S to apologize 100 years later. And yet people still ask why we say that we were robbed of our land and culture.
That was better than anything I've watched on Netflix recently. Sam and Nainoa, you guys crushed this! So many beautiful frames
