Scientists believe starlings form murmurations for a number of reasons, the dilution effect(the larger the group of prey animals, smaller chance of any individual predation)being the main one. Another reason may be that starlings do this an hour before sundown(like in the video)to attract other starlings to the area to roost for the night. Starlings sleep in large roosts together to share body heat as a means of keeping warm, more birds=more heat.

It's called swarm movement: where multiple creatures move in sync to form a larger body.
Like the cells in our body except that sync is down to code. We fail to realize we should strive for the same corresponding, coded syncronicity amongst ourselves as humans in a greater body. Each of us acting as a mere cell.
@@v4riab1lity77we're too selfish for that.

Beautiful, so amazing. A little bit of magic is all around us.
Always... dancing in and out of consciousness and perception.

They are just loving life. Bless them. How beautiful they are
I've lived smack dab in the middle of New Mexico for 33 years now and we never had those until the other day. It was strange for them to appear after so many years. I couldn't stop watching
I know where this is! I was just at the top of this building!
This is the Victor Emmanuel II monument in Rome
Esattamente 👍
Thanks, I was wondering!
I came for this comment!
Tnx 😊
Nice!!!
Grazie!
Being able to see this in person is amazing!! I’ve been fortunate enough to have watched birds do this on a couple occasions. Besides looking amazing, the sound of them flying like that is really cool too. 💖
This is a common sight in England
Meanwhile, the birds: “I CANT LOOSE YOU GARY
Opening your eyes to see what’s beautiful around you instead of hoping for the Internet to show you something beautiful
Imagine all the bird shit falling under that
that whole view is the DEFINITION of majestic🤩
It's amazing that they never collide into each other. They have perfect satellite navigation.

Oh the humans are having a show.
Loved that moment a heart was formed. ❤

I drive doordash in a rural area, near an interstate, and there's a stretch of near frontage road I travel that's sandwiched between two large farm fields.
One day, starlings were swarming over the one on the right, mesmerizing me with their ever-changing shapes.
As I approached, the edge closest to me began streaming over the road, completely filling my view.
In less than a second, I saw hundreds of individual birds cross over and envelope my car.
It was thrilling and frightening and beautiful. Something I won't ever forget.
Better be glad they didn’t drop a deuce on ya lol😂
What a beautiful story

Looking up at birds that are flying like this is all fun and games until a spoonful of cookies and cream ice cream lands directly in your eye
Beautiful city, gorgeous architecture & those birds! Wow! Thank you!

The fact they can do that and change directions rapidly without a single collision is insane.

I’m more taken aback by the beautiful sky line
The birds are just summoning Lugia with the exact cloud formation.
Thought my eye floaters got real bad for a second there...
Haha. See an optician asap!
They literally made other birds! I saw a duck, a swan, and a finch! So cool!
Yo thats sick I'm seeing it

They're Celebrating Life!!🤗❤
during evening when the sun is setting, im feeding my cat or changing my cat's water bowl at the balcony or sometimes, when I'm waiting for my parents and wandering around after school, I watch the sky. or after i pull an all nighter in the morning, or y'know when im just sitting at the balcony, wasting away minutes and daydreaming. I watch the birds 'perform' this and get fascinated by it. morning, afternoon and evening, this routine happens. nature is so cool. wish I had more time to explore it.
wish i was more outgoing and wasn't so awkward or reserved with people, so that I could go outside more and live like any other teenager.
also want to write this in a more romatincised or poetic way lol
It is romanticide and poetic to read you painted a lpvely picture
*this is what i call a bird show!*
Some birds did this outside my classroom window in the playground a few years ago. I don’t know why, but after I pointed it out, the entire class just started laughing at the birds.
That is the beauty of nature.

That is PERFECT music for this occasion!
Those Starling bird's are called Druids in Irish language. The druids believed they gave signs similar to tea leaf readings.
Birds: KEEP UP
Other birds: I'm trying bruh
This is mesmerizing!
Awesome! God made all things beautiful. 🙏

I get those all the time where I live. Above my house, above the car park of my local supermarket, down at the beach, on the downs. It's funny because I don't think people notice it. People either just carry on without seeing it, or they act like they've never seen it before. 'You know they do this every day, right?' I think as the locals look up to the sky in shock and confusion and wonder what it is. I tell them, it's a murmuration, they are starlings, and they look at me as if they've never seen the sky before.
I'm always amazed at how people are sleep walking through life, oblivious of the sky.
Beautiful to watch! Mesmerizing indeed! Thank you Lord Jesus! Amen
Amen 🎉😊Be blessed in Jesus mighty name
