I have an 86’ X1/9. Happy to see more videos on this lil car! Get yourself a Haynes manual, it’ll help save you blood, sweat, and tears throughout your project
If you haven´t put your engine back in yet (which you already did I suppose) lift the car and put the engine in from below, will save time and is safer for the car body as well :)
Great to see your having fun with the X1/9. You need to drop the engine and lift the car. When you put it back do it the other way, lower the car on to the engine.
Enjoyed watching your video with genuine interest! Would like to see video once the job has completed. By the way, back in 1989, I was 22 years old and had 100% ownership of an X-19 FIAT Bertone. I was mocked by a couple of my friends for having one of those ix t gain, ony cars. I didn't give a fuck. I installed some box speakers with some kick-ass deep bass behind each of my seats. I had some incredibly memorable moments with my Puerto Rican girl at the time traveling down the Southern California coast by the Pacific Ocean and even to Baja California. I would go convertible and would blast the music from the audiocassette player that was built-in to my car. I even had something that was not common...a retractable radio antennae. Thanks for sharing your awesome video with us!

I'm hoping that you complete your project. It's bring new life to these classic cars and making them better.

I had two x1/9's and it's better to drop the engine than lift it out...
cant wait to see more. I just picked up an 82 and I am considering pulling the motor in my driveway so I can give it a once over this winter.

You have the Fiat bug now. Since the engine is out, you should swap in your K24 in there. 😁
