I couldn't help but laughed at the end of the first story. She went through all of that plastic surgery and was known for having seven faces. Yet the person who called in the tip still happened to recognize her. Hilarious.
She must be the dumbest person who had ever lived
this... actually interesting, idk if it's a "divine" intervention or what not, or maybe even atsuko's vengeful spirit give hint to the caller etc. I mean think about it for a sec, change face 7 times and she indeed almost got away with it till the end when it's almost 15 years and then suddenly got caught? i'm not an unbeliever nor a fully religious person either, but to me it seems like there is some outside "force" that got her caught especially considering she almost got away with it too
She got so much plastic surgery that she came full circle and accidentally got back to her original face.

Smells like alcoholism
Well, i believe everyone will be cocky or not that so cautious if you can run away from the cops for like 14 years 11 months eventhough your face is all around the news.

15 years is way too short a statute of limitations for murder. yikes. but damn, she really almost made it to freedom. that's crazy.
Since 2010 the statues have been overturned.
Bill Denbrough in south korea they also have this same policy. a serial killer got away with it, even after proving he was the one who did it... all because it had been over 15 years.
I feel there shouldn't be a statute of limitations for murder.
@@XxDarkMoonFighterXx I agree. My thoughts exactly.
No statute of limitations in Japan for murder since 2010
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there should never be a statute of limitations of limitations on murder.
You really did say it again!
Murder shouldn’t be illegal
@@l21n18 wait what?
There isn't. I think the video is outdated.
In my country statue limitations exist, however, there are crimes named "crímenes de lessa humanidad" wich are crimes committed by government and functionaries in power, those crimes never have statue limitations.
If I was on the run for nearly 15 years and only needed 20 more days until freedom, I would’ve been PISSED if I got caught
Seriously! It’s a good thing justice caught up with her, but at the same time I can’t help feeling frustrated lol

That case made me so angry. It's been a long time since I've gotten emotional while making a video, but that last case got me...
@@LazyMasquerade I recently had to close out a video on CriminallyListed. Got too mad after an elderly man allowed a younger man into his home out of the cold to make a phone call, only to be rewarded with a beating. A beating that became a double homicide when the elderly man's wife woke up and started screaming...goddamn drug addicts.
@@LazyMasquerade The second case was what upset me the most because of John Humble. The conviction makes sense, but the time sentenced should've been much longer, and he shouldn't have been released early, since he (unknowingly, yet knew full well), basically caused the death of three more people, which meant that he knew that more could die, but not the amount. It makes sense that the investigator quit after finding that out, too, because he felt kind of responsible for making such a significant error in who he thought was the killer.
Right? They're worth way more alive!
Sound worth it to me
Police questioning: “so why did you run that stop light?”
Killer: “cuz I’m the ripper I killed those people lol”
He left out a few key points in the video: He had a prostitute in the car with him, and they found murder weapons that he had stashed away. And they interrogated him for two days before he confessed.
Golly G. Golem oh lmao that would have made a lot more sense. The video made it sound like he just confessed for no reason

What's really frustrating is that during the Yorkshire Ripper case, the evidence against Peter Sutcliffe was ignored because Detective Oldfield was so obsessed with that tape. I was thinking the same thing. We have a statute of limitations in NZ but it doesn't apply to murder and I think for other crimes it's at least 20 years
@@mikesanders8621 in spain, never.

Geuss who’s moving to japan 🇯🇵
Berseria, reminds me of a Connery James Bond film. He is in a bath house being pampered by some hot Japanese babes. One of them says “In Japan, man always come first”. Connery says under his breath “I think I shall retire here.”
The first case started out saying Japan is a safe place. Then, it is revealed that the prisons are the Yakuza's "fun house."
......
If Japanese societal/cultural pressures and expectations don't deter you from crime; The horrendous prisons sure will.
That's why you don't do crimes. The Yakuza is dying out too though bc of the Anti Boryokudan Act. Not as big as they used to be, most of them are just a bunch of grandpas now that do finical crime.
Vinny I never would have though japanese prisons would be so horrendous. but, it sounds like american prisons are even... dare I say... better. which is something I'd never though I'd say.
I thought it was prostitution not gonna lie
@Rich Affinito Yes, prisons are built to punish criminals. They are also NOT supposed to be a playground for other criminals to fester in.
Dogs are very intuitive, with that being said:
In the late 80’s my mother who was in her 20’s was given an old poodle whom she hesitantly decided to keep. While traveling from my grandmothers town in Germany back to her town she comes across a single light at an intersection with railroad tracks. No one is around, it’s dark and the dog is asleep in the back, but all of a sudden this blind, toothless and old poodle who never even barked growls the deepest growl my mother has ever heard. As she turns to see what’s causing the dog’s reaction, her head turns to the backseat but her attention is caught by a man who appeared from the woods and is in extremely close proximity reaching for the door handle. My mother hits the gas and as she looks in her rear view mirror she sees the guy slowly walk back into the woods. As per her, she’s happy she decided to keep this dog. I’m glad she did too.
(True story)
Hey, I’m just curious but which side of the door was the man about to open?
Kerresft her passenger side. They drive on the right hand side.
@@Jesusisking2 Does your mother not lock all the doors of the car? That is the most basic thing to do.

All these killers are heinous, but killing children is a special kind of evil
I’m 100% on the same page with you. When I thought about how he killed those innocent boys with a fucking sledgehammer it made my stomach turn. It’s hard to fathom how purely evil some people can be, and for such terribly selfish reasons. My only solace is that he can’t hurt other people, since he’s been caught, which has hopefully provided the family some measure of peace and closure, and that child killers are not viewed fondly in prison, even amongst other killers. He won’t be having a pleasant stay.
Fubs_the_queen 1996 They’re going to a special kind of hell. The place where child molesters go, and people that talk in the theaters.
I must say, even though I don't like children at all, I think killing them is still going way too overboard :/
People who hurt or kill children should go to the 7th ring of hell.
It's heartbreaking to see the defendant so sad for losing the case at 23:48. He needed the money so badly!
It’s important to note that Japan abolished the statute of limitations for murder in April 28th 2010. I think they realized how messed up it was to be unusually lenient in regards to cold blooded murderers.
Surely they need to make a movie about the Japanese woman in story 1.

It doesn’t seem like they had much to go on. They prolly ran with their strongest lead, even if it sent them in the wrong direction
I think that's why the main investigator resigned.
Similarly, why would they randomly assume the people in the picture were the McStays? That makes absulutely no sense and I feel like it needs some thorough explanation.
I enjoy your twau profile pic
The Ripper case was incompetent from start to finish; the obsession over the tape and letters was just the tip of the iceberg. The police decided very early on that the Ripper was deliberately targetting prostitutes, even though one of his victims was a schoolgirl and another an older housewife; neither was involved in the sex industry. The truth was Sutcliffe targetted vulnerable women, it just so happened that a lot of prostitutes are vulnerable.
The cops were so blinkered that when women who had been attacked but managed to escape came forward, they were dismissed out of hand because they didn't fit the police's idea of a 'Ripper victim', i.e. they weren't prostitutes. One such victim, 14 year old Tracey Browne, was attacked but managed to get away. The description she gave police of her attacker's appearance was that of Peter Sutcliffe, she even went back to the police later when the Ripper case was dominating the headlines, but each time she was dismissed and ignored.
Worst of all, different police officers actually interviewed Sutcliffe something like seven times over the course of the investigation, but because the operation was so massive and organisation of paper records so chaotic, nobody knew this until after his arrest. Individual officers were just doing their own thing, with little communication, terrible record keeping, and a complete lack of competent leadership. As the video states, Sutcliffe was eventually caught by accident for a driving offence - not by the police force leading the investigation, but by a force in a different county he happened to be visiting.
