Oh my god I've been trying to find this song for years!!! I used to love it so much as a kid, but my brain replaced Joan with Jude so I couldn't find it for the longest time. The chills I just got hearing this again!
rob thomas wow what a voice. my husband of 23 yrs took me to my very first concert, i recently lost that love of my life. these songs all will forever remind me of john. this ones for you darling. true love always. love ms cathrine
a true musical singer songwriter good human being if there ever was one... years of magic from him and both of his bands...now and old...... on top live form....he's unmatchable.......a true human.......🚀
I was so angry just now, I felt like I could actually strangle the one I loved most, but I decided instead to listen to this song to call me down. I'm so glad this song exists, otherwise I might have hurt her emotionally and physically.
They began as a local band called Tabitha's Secret, and titled one of their albums Don't Play With Matches. Then swapped out the guitar and bass players, and became Matchbox 20. Kinda awesome, really...
No. Tabitha's Secret was offered a production deal with Matt Serletic's company. Rob wanted to take it and some other members didn't. They wanted to hold out for something better or something. But Rob signed the deal anyway and also a publishing deal. The two guitar players quit, leaving only Rob, Paul (the drummer), and Brian (bass player). They now had a record deal but no band, so they hired Kyle and Adam to replace the guitar players and then became Matchbox 20. The Tabitha's Secret guitarists became pissed when MB20 became successful, especially since 3AM was a big hit and that was a song Tabitha's Secret used to play. So, they sued, which was ridiculous because 3AM was Rob's own song. The Tabitha's Secret guitarists then released "Don't Play With Matches" as a dig on Matchbox 20.
@@ScullyLikesScience I grew up in Orlando around the time of their break through and this is spot on. Additionally, to add a little more context, a concern of the label/management Co was the guitar players(I can’t recall their names) while talented in their own right lacked stage presence. In hindsight, I can’t imagine another guitar player/lead vocal more suited to the band’s sound than Kyle Cook .
The guitarist is Jay Stanley. He operates a recording studio in the Orlando area and has worked with some extremely successful artists. Look him up he’s a professional in every sense of the word
Dear Joan, I've almost forgotten the pane in the window The blue dress in the doorway Dear Joan, help me remember the face I forget And the traps that I've sprung I guess I've grown tired, it's just what's expected of me To tear your heart from the inside to the outside You know I was wired, I just couldn't help it The hundred thousand times I hurt you Dear Joan, I wanted to say I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before Well, I've wanted more from this Than anything I've even known, dear Joan Dear Joan, your face has a brightness That I've never seen in the years that I've known you Dear Joan, I'd pick up the pieces but some scattered too far You see they flew when I kicked them, cross the floor And I know you believe when I said it was over You stood by me patiently waiting and broken So deeply in love with every face that I've shown And Dear Joan I wanted to say I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before Well I've wanted more from this Than anything I've ever known Once I forget, twice I'm a fool, three times I wrap my hands around your neck while you're sleepin' Dear Joan, don't walk out the doorway Because if you did, I could honestly kill you Dear Joan, I wanted to say I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before Well I've wanted more from this Than anything I've ever known Dear Joan, I wanted to say I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before Well I've wanted more from this Than anything I've ever known, dear Joan
Thank you for this ever so insightful album cover Eric. Who would've ever believed that The Ranch would've burned to the ground shortly after you made this! Three of the fondest memories of my entire life, which I'll take to my grave with me, are Tabitha's Secret, Addict Sunday, and Daryl Sons. This puts a lump in throat and leaves me speechless.
creo k si... creo k refleja el arrepentimiento, el sentimiento de k le hace daño a ella pero se siente mal por ello y se siente impotente porke sabe k no va a poder cambiar y la aprecia porke siga a su lado aun con todo lo k le ha hecho...

Stop lying about setting traps. Tabitha was involved and lying about her being set up won't work- that is what her criminal partners would want people to think but she was involved from the beginning. Give up the lies.

Haunting. I got to see Rob Thomas live and he just has so much emotion when he sings.
he really does; sounds almost better in person than on record and that's rare to find :O
Saw him at the Visage in Orlando. Winter park. Hard Rock in Orlando after they got signed.

Tabitha's Secret played at Rockafella's..Columbia, SC in 1993. Rob lived in a trailer park at the time. Good days, man.

Love Rob Thomas voice ❤
Wow this is a good song..
Dear Joan, I've almost forgotten the pane in the window
The blue dress in the doorway
Dear Joan, help me remember the face I forget
And the traps that I've sprung
I guess I've grown tired, it's just what's expected of me
To tear your heart from the inside to the outside
You know I was wired, I just couldn't help it
The hundred thousand times I hurt you
Dear Joan, I wanted to say
I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before
Well, I've wanted more from this
Than anything I've even known, dear Joan
Dear Joan, your face has a brightness
That I've never seen in the years that I've known you
Dear Joan, I'd pick up the pieces but some scattered too far
You see they flew when I kicked them, cross the floor
And I know you believe when I said it was over
You stood by me patiently waiting and broken
So deeply in love with every face that I've shown
And Dear Joan I wanted to say
I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before
Well I've wanted more from this
Than anything I've ever known
Once I forget, twice I'm a fool, three times
I wrap my hands around your neck while you're sleepin'
Dear Joan, don't walk out the doorway
Because if you did, I could honestly kill you
Dear Joan, I wanted to say
I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before
Well I've wanted more from this
Than anything I've ever known
Dear Joan, I wanted to say
I'm sorry for the screaming last night and the nights before
Well I've wanted more from this
Than anything I've ever known, dear Joan
Thank you, Ely for the Lyrics. ;)

querida joan, queria decirte
k lo siento por los gritos de anoche
y las noches anteriores
bueno yo he querido mas de esto
que nada de lo k yo he sabido nunca
querida joan
querida loan
tu cara tiene un brillo que nunca habia visto
en los años k te he conocido
querida joan
recojo los pedazos, pero algunos se esparcieron muy lejos
dices k volaron cuando les di una patada
Once I'll forget. Twice I'm a fool.
I feel like there is another version of this...
Brayden this reminds me of you..........
querida joan
tu sabes k estaba "mal", no pude evitarlo
la cien mil vez k de herí
in the live performance, at the end of the song everyone was crying
reminds me of my son and his girlfriend bitter sweet
this WAS matchbox 20 when they were Florida's Top band, they found success and switched names
hence the similarities!!
Chris Westhoff yes and no. A few members left and a few came.
la traduccion ?? u.u
That's because they had some legal issue with matchbox about 3am. Google it and you'll find out why.
the start of this song the guitar in it sounds like the start of an Eminem song but can't think of it. some help would be appreciated
The cool thing is my name really is Tabitha XD
Beautiful. Reminds me of another time, another place. Jim Croce, only better. Or maybe similar.
Majorely fucked up, great song. Good poetry is often very very dark.
