    One thing to point out, they keep their WILD stats when in friend mode! This means that they are essentially as strong as a wild giga but without the bleed in friend mode, so you literally have like a temporary wild giga on your side for 10 mins

      I imagine this is sort of the same as grabbing a giga with a noglin on gen 2, even if you don't plan on taming one you can just feed a carchar a few corpses and then you essentially do an isolated dino wipe. This is even better than a noglin though, since the noglin always kills whatever it controls, while this actually has the side effect of potentially taming something

    I imagine the highlands is actually the best place to tame them, considering it's a natural spawn of both them and ovis. Remember that ovis have a super high harvest health for their size and they provide mutton, it works for Fjordhawks and would likely work similarly for Carchars

    • @MyOpinionIsInvalid
      @MyOpinionIsInvalid Рік тому

      Wouldn't work, it is the killing of the animal that gets it its effectiveness unlike the fjordhawk which gains effectiveness when harvesting a corpse.

    • @yournan6199
      @yournan6199 Рік тому +5

      @@MyOpinionIsInvalid Yeah you're 100% right, I've tested this mf out for a bit and it's based on the kill, which appears to be based on size. I killed a wild giga and copped like 50 stacks which is amazing, I have yet to test how much alphas would give you. However I gotta be honest this thing looks like it's gonna be cheeks compared to official stat PvP Gigas. It'll take months to breed up a Carc that could take a Giga stat wise and you'll still need 50+ stacks to just tie with the Giga for damage output.

      @yournan6199 Рік тому +3

      @@arthurservilheri4311 I mean if Rexes, Theris, Rhinos and even Sloths can run bosses then obviously this thing could. The issue would be that it's the size of a Giga, unless the cryo glitch still works you're not taking this thing into a boss fight. Then if you could, you may as well have brought a Giga anyway lmao. Boss fights are already covered well enough anyway, my main concern with the Carc is that it's designed supposedly to counter Gigas in PvP scenarios but all of those scenarios require it to have like 10 minutes worth of prep time while the fight is already going. Besides, something you need to keep track of is that while Syntac is probably the most respectable PvE Ark youtuber there is, he's playing with heavily modded stats 99% of the time. I will personally be trusting the testing I conducted myself with Official stats on lvl 1 unimprinted dinos to get as accurate information as I could.

    When you lost the frenzy bonus there at the end, the roar consumes all frenzy bonus to buff you, your tribemates and tames. That's what the new status effect icon down at the bottom right was. It's essentially a more pvp geared dino to use in place of the Giga. Raid another tribe or let yourself get raided, kill small enemy tames and lower level players, buff roar your tribe, then go back in to eat their medium tames to stack frenzy, then go to town on their big boys.

Plus the spawn rate for them there isn't as good as it is on rag so you might have to hunt a while to find a good level.

    - they can collect mushrooms (or at least the aberration ones on Asgard in the purple forest)
    - roaring resets your kill counter

I think the game was just buggy since she just wouldn't do anything in the trap. I lucked out with seven brontos in one area and she really liked those; never noticed it was damage that brought the meter down, granted it only dropped to ninety-nine. I named her Strawberry cause she's bright red with dark spots 😆 Not sure if I want to try for a second though. Ironically we were looking for rexs 😅

The meter that showed on the left side of the HUB bar is a buff that can reach up to 100 and once done you will triple the damage per bite. Between the abilities, taming strategy, and this, I feel like the carchar is a somewhat smarter opponent than the Giga, a great rivalry of brawn vs brains. you don't even need a trap tbh. If you can herd it near a cliff like the mountain spawn of fjordur you can do it without one. I tamed my carchas that way bc the trap method would aggro them on the gates and bug out the feeding

    Hey syntac, I did some testing and found to build friendship wooly rhinos worked best and things that spawn in packs or groups with low-medium hp like mammoths, wolves, carnos were amazing for getting the breeding effectiveness up

    That metre on the left of the hot bar confused me too, then I found out (after messing around with one for 20 minutes last night) that the number in the box gets higher with every kill and the higher the number, the longer the buff from the roar lasts. If the number in the box is 0% there is no buff.

    A little tip, when you try to fill the friendly meter, the galli is the way to easily fill it up, like I only need 2 of any levels to fill the meter

    • @skodedickinson6544
      @skodedickinson6544 Рік тому

      It's based on drag weight I think - Galli method works well because pvp players abused the hell out of them (clipping them through structures using Argys with multiple allies mounted on them) so much the devs hugely buffed their drag weights so Argys can't lift them no more (you can't even bola them either as result).

    These would be good for the brood mother on the island, because it summons like a billion spiders so you can get a lot of frenzy points

  • @gregortrieb3458

    If you get close to the time limit, walk back to your trap, park him/her in there, close the last gate again and voila - no worries with remounting (despite loosing the taming efficiency ofc). Guess Extinction snowy area is the best spot for taming. Ovis, Megatheria, Mammoths, Wolves, Pigs, Yutys, ... (And quite many of them as well - hardly 10 metres without mobs).

    Why do I get the feeling, that the method in which this new dino is tamed, was being fleshed out in the background?
    For the devs to drop in a dino like this, says to me that this is a sort of trial run. It seems more natural, bringing a carnivore free food to gain its trust, than it is to forcefully sedate and babysit it. Perhaps they might have something like this planned for every creature in the upcoming ARK game?

    I got a Hint for everyone
    Use crystal isles to tame this dude
    Heres how
    1. Go to the desert
    2.find one u want
    3. Lead it over to the white beach area
    4. Build the trap there and use turtles and trikes
    5. When it lets u ride on head over to the griffin area
    6. Kill as many griffins (and everything u encounter on the way over there)
    7. If ur lucky u get it first try
    I used this strat on a Server with no taming boost (prime meat does 11 % of a 200 giga if that gives u an idea of it / for me its not taming boosted)
