Smart Port Infrastructure | Pilot project on impact ship propellers |

The port is growing and we are receiving increasingly larger and deeper ships in the port of Rotterdam. We are currently carrying out various tests that will allow us to measure and understand the flow around a ship much more accurately. These tests will give us a much better understanding of the impact of ships' propellers on the seabed. The aim is to increase knowledge of soil protection measures and to allow larger ships to moor at existing berths and to optimally design the soil protection of new quays. In this way, we will ensure that the port is ready to safely accommodate the new generation of ships.
