OMG HEY I have that same snowman holiday sweater that you wore in Brighton!!! Thank you so much for explaining the whole Panto concept to us Americans, now I’ll have to add visit the UK at Christmas to catch a Panto to my bucket list!
6 pantomimes I have seen this season. Started Sheffield Lyceum Theatre, Jack and the Beanstalk, Bridlington Spa Theatre Snow White, York Theatre Royal Peter Pan, York Grand Opera House Old Granny Goose, Hull (my home city panto) New Theatre Jack and the Beanstalk and Leeds Carriageworks Cinderella. Love panto/variety/comedy/musical theatre.
So excited to see Sleeping Beauty at The Marlowe on Thursday. Can't wait. Although it has turned into an expensive mission! The train strikes mean we are going by bus - 3 and a half hours and three different buses each way (from Hastings); plus the night in the Premier Inn. Worth it to see Carrie though; and the all you can eat breakfast buffet!!!
Happy New Year! Have you done a review of the It’s A Wonderful Life opera yet? I am intrigued Tp hear about that especially since I’ve played Mrs. Hatch twice.
US based, so this is all new to me... Do theaters (in the same general area) ever do the same story, the same year (like two Sleeping Beauty)? Or do they discuss in advance?
I don't think that theatres that are super close to each other would ever do the same one. I have 3 theatres in my town and they always do different ones, so I assume they have a chat beforehand? I have seen this year that two theatres are doing Goldilocks but they are a couple of hours away from each other.
I don't think it matters that much if theatres are doing the same show as I think most families just go to their local theatre whatever is on. So I don't think theatres would have to compete very much if they were doing the same story as I think most would just go to whatever's closest.
Have heard references to Panto before but have never been exposed to it at all. Thanks for this very informative stagy series.
I've only seen The London Palladium panto this Xmas which was spectacular!
those glasses are iconic- I thought it was a filter first because they were so out there :D
I wish we had pantomimes here in the US, they look like so much fun. I have loved your reviews of them.
Glad you've enjoyed! Still fascinates me that they've barely made their way to anywhere else in the world
@@MickeyJoTheatre Me too!

Would you consider reviewing the sondheim special from BBC 2 ? Very mixed bag I thought
if you ever go back to bath, there’s an italian cafe called rosarios, they do DELICIOUS gluten free cannoli, most of their menu is gluten free too 😊
This is such a useful tip, thank you! I'm back this month, although Aaron is elsewhere but maybe I can try and bring some back for him 🤔
@@MickeyJoTheatre it’s really close to the theatre too, less than a 5 minute walk 100% recommend!
Happy New Year to you all.
Watch the London palladium panto so good

Happy new year 😊

Hi how are you
Love your reviews but please keep them shorter! I don't always have the time to spend 40 minutes ! xx
You do realise he does have shorter reviews right, this is just a new series he made so he can vlog his week.
