This new 2022 Tundra has a massive infotainment screen. In this video I put a screen protector on it by a company called Screen Protech. I put both a matte finish and an HD screen on to show you all the difference.

Good product review and installation video - I'm in, like the results!
All I need now is a (my) truck. Ha! 🤣 ...on order, waiting.
Nice! Going to order some now.
Now if only I could figure out how to get the radio to load my profile every time instead of defaulting to guest. 😬
It came out nice on the center console but immediately after install its HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS on the cluster. Looks fuzzy with weird air bubbles, which didnt come out with the water.
I suspect its because the cluster window has all sorts of weird contours and the squeegee is fairly ridgid.
Ill give it a few days and maybe try again before determining.
That’s good to have incase you ever put it in the same pocket as your keys.
Maybe an ok product, but install is so finicky I’ll never know. Two sets ruined and now I’m trying to figure out how to remove adhesive residue from the cluster. Don’t be influenced, at best a coin toss on a good install and damage if it does go right. Oh, and a “no return policy” from the company.
The matte screen protector was one of the first “mods” I did when I first got my tundra. It makes a world of difference!!! Now you have me sold on the instrument cluster protector lol…
Heck ya! Yea I like the clarity of the HD screen but really like that anti glare of the matte
Will help! Mine scratched even with a microfiber or lense cleaner cloth
Did you find the screen to be blury with the matte finish? I'm really unhappy with how it blurs my HD screen 😢
Any updates on quality 9 months later? Thanks.
The film has a 10 year warranty so it is holding up just fine
Hey it was perfect!! I’ve since sold this truck but I’ll have a video coming for the sequoia as well!!
Any idea what the solution is. Just got a set and it is missing that. Has everything else.
Matte finish
Yea the matte finish is pretty nice!
I've installed matte on Subaru Outback infotainment. The sad true is I had to remove it due to reasons. 1. It's thick so sometimes it does not see the finger. 2. It makes the image blurry like and that is a no go.
Dang sorry to hear that.
@@TRDJon although I had a good hope, it looked great and fit perfectly, but turns out not practical for me.
I’d go with the Anti Glare for sure. Nothing is more annoying than trying to cover your screen from the sun just so you can see what’s on it.
Facts!
The Matt Screen protector is good but the other screen protectors are not very good all I am sorry to report.
I just received my kit for my new forester and I didn't know the matte finish was an option until that scan code led me here. Did I miss something?
Game changer. Had scratches on the tinted cluster and the center console shifter area after the first clean. Got the full HD coverage for digital cluster, 14 display, and shifter area. Hides all the scratches and can clean without future scratches. Had a microfiber and still scratched original before these! 10/10
So you ended up just keeping the hd film rather than the matte?
For right now yes. Not much glare since my windows are tinted.
I’d go with the Matte
Gonna see how the clear one is with my tint and maybe go back to matte
Just installed and doesn’t look great. May rip it off
Hey Jon, what’s going on. Watched your video a bunch of times on this install. Gave a valiant attempt on my 4Runner. The radio screen, wasn’t as bad. The instrument cluster was very frustrating. So frustrating and after so many botched attempts, I creased and messed up the film. It really annoyed me. I have one more film I’ll give it a try tomorrow. You made it look so easy
Lots of spray. Good luck!
Just installed it on my 2023 challenger but having an issue with it responding to my touch inputs on the infotainment after installing
hmmm that is strange. Is there any water left behind it?
@@TRDJon maybe, I tired pushing as much water out of the film, hopefully the excess water didn't hit any wires
Also, anybody have any issues with seeing the screen, with film installed, when wearing polarized glasses?
Did it have a screen protector on it from the factory that you had to remove first?
So does the HD/glossy screen protector reduce the number of fingerprints on the screen as well, or is that just the matte screen protector?
It does as well
@@TRDJon Do they both do a similar job or would you say one is better than the other? (In terms of minimizing fingerprints)
Did you remove the protective film that came from the factory? It may seem that there is no screen protection from the factory but there is. I found out from my 2022 Tundra by peeling the corner of the screen. Trust me there is a screen protection from factory. It just doesn’t look like it because it’s a high quality protection from factory.
Maybe? I didn’t see one
@@TRDJon sometimes you can't tell because the fitment is very precise. There is a lot of people who doesn't know this. Check out the Tundra forum.
Sounds good!
Mine has a screen protector from the factory
So on the website it only offers a Matte screen for the nav screen and HD for the cluster. Is this what you have?
I had the HD screen on the main screen
Great video, Jon. Really helps!! The one thing I would add to this is the high-quality of the film and even the rag. Heck, even the shipping tube reeks of quality. Great company and good folks on the customer service end.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words L Shep!
Love it!
Thanks!
How has the screen protectors held up
Very good
Whoo, first!
Let's goooooo
Does the matt screen protector diminish or muddy the screen image?
The Screen Protech web site does suggest that the Anti-Glare screen is more impact resistance...so I am guessing it may be thicker @ 8mil. On the other end, did you think the HD screen protector enhanced the screen image? I am looking at this screen protection for my LC200 Gen 2 navigation screen and not sure which to go with.
On another note, anybody know if there is already a protection film on the LC200?
For my Subaru Outback infotainment screen it does muddy/blurry the displayed graphics to the point I've to remove the film.
Same. Just installed on my outback and it looks horrible. Like I need glasses. 😢
