सबसे पहले तो ये जानें कि I-pill को इमरजेंसी कॉन्ट्रासेप्टिव पिल्स कहा जाता है. पर इसका ये मतलब नहीं है कि इसे गर्भनिरोधक गोली की तरह खाया जाए. यानी महीने में कई बार इसका सेवन उचित नहीं माना जाता.
I-pill है क्या
आजकल मेडिकल दुकानों पर आसानी से उपलब्ध होती है. इसे बिना डॉक्टर की पर्ची के भी खरीदा जा सकता है. असुरक्षित यौन संबंध के 12 या 24 घंटों के भीतर इसके सेवन की सलाह दी जाती है. कुछ ब्रांड ऐसी I-pill भी बेचते हैं जिसे 72 घंटों के अंदर सेवन करके अवांछित गर्भ से बच सकते हैं.
आई-पिल टैबलेट में लेवोनोर्गेस्ट्रेल नामक एक सक्रिय संघटक होता है। यह हार्मोन के उत्पादन को रोकता है जैसे ल्यूटिनाइजिंग हार्मोन (एलएच) और कूप-उत्तेजक हार्मोन जब सक्रिय यौगिक रक्तप्रवाह (एफएसएच) तक पहुंचता है। ये हार्मोन डिम्बग्रंथि अंडे (ओव्यूलेशन) के निर्माण और रिलीज के लिए जिम्मेदार हैं।
आई-पिल के साइड इफेक्ट
अगर जिम्मेदारी से लिया जाए तो यह टैबलेट आम तौर पर सुरक्षित है। हालाँकि, इसके कुछ दुष्प्रभाव हो सकते हैं, जैसे:
