Very surreal to hear this. Dominicks daughter Camarie and I were high school sweethearts and I spent 9 years (4-5 of which we lived with Dom, Camarie, Dom jr, Marina RIP and various girlfriends of his in one house in LA and Florida) as a part of the Montiglio family. Dominick was like a father to me and taught me more than my real father ever did. Good AND bad. He was a man who meant well but constantly would disappoint his family OVER and OVER like any addict does. His drinking had been like this since those times. He had survival gilt on two different levels and constantly struggled with that. I think a lot of people are unfair to his family’s these comment sections mainly because of how Dom himself would pass the blame onto them and use that as a reason to distance himself. They welcomed him back MANY times and he consistently would mess them over in some way whether it be financially or emotionally. You people are only seeing one side and that’s Doms side when he’s absolutely shit faced and rambling. I spent many a night with a glass of Dewars and this man and had many talks and he’s frankly just a broken person who really needed to get help but that’s not how these guys are raised. Not to be weak or to show you are human. I’ve literally seen this man cry 100 times about his father in our living room late at night many packs of cigs and scotches in. All o can say is I love the guy, and so does his family however complicated that may be. It’s disfunction at a level none of you will understand unless you were there. Which I was. I think what Dominick went through with Nino and the DeMeo crew was something that he simply couldn't handle without booze and drugs. Like Capeci said in his book, Dominick wasn't a killer and maybe too emotional to suit to the mafia life. He was a smart guy and under different circumstances he could have made well in his life. However alcoholism doesn't always require bad circumstances in life. One of my friends was a successful stockbroker, owned a big house and a classic Porsche. Had a beautiful wife and two nice daughters. But he drank like a 6-pack a day at first and then increased the load gradually. At some point he got fired and got into big troubles. His wife said that "you have to choose between the bottle or your family". My friend told me that whatever option there was available (even all the money in the world) the bottle would always win. Alcohol is a dangerous drug. It destroys people's lives. Maybe Dominick's life was destroyed when he had to deal with the serial killers and murderers?

This guy Ross helped keep dominick alive , he provided him with food and lodging and cared about him but was very interested in his stories . Once he realized who he was Dominick , he made a deal with Dom to make videos about the life and what went down between the Manhattan faction and Brooklyn one . and many other stories. Dom as soon as he started using drugs , as soon as started going down with both families , his real family and the cost nostra family . am sure his last days he got depressed and started drinking a lot like any Vietnam vets , plus his life was very eventful, the dude got exposed to organized crime since he was a kid, he was groomed by his uncle ... He went thru a tough life . easy to judge but wish his should had rested in complete peace.

It’s impossible to understand a man that has seen the horrors of war and the life Dom has seen. SF or SOG of Vietnam was extremely serious and terrible. Dom had tremendous pain he was suffering from.
I felt really bad for Dominick he did what he did because of his upbringing. PTSD from multiple tours in Vietnam as a LRRP SF Operator. He saw and did some really bad things to survive. His story of being on Hill 875 between the North Vietnamese Army and our conventional forces. The war alone has got to be tragic and then he has the street life. I don't know what he's done to his family, but holding on to the past is not healthy. His family will be upset after he dies and they can't make amends. If they actually would read o watch the documentary Lynchpin of Bensonhurst: The Dominick Montiglio Story. That just might explain his reason why he is the man he turned out to be. The past is the past and you can't hold on to the resentment. His kids will regret it if he dies an they don't squash the drama. You can see how bad he regrets the father side of his life. He did what he thought was the right thing to do based on his childhood. I really feel bad for him and to kinda relate to him. He drinks so he can say the truth about his life and to try to forget.

Hi from Russia. Very interesting character. I definitely can see a movie or TV series sou his life. He is not less interesting than Irishman, for example. Though having read the book, I think TV series might have suited it better, cause most of the interesting facts and life periods were not used due to movie time constraints.
I don't like seeing Dom fucked up like this. The guy was pretty sharp & thoughtful when sober, and an outstanding story-teller. I do, however, LOVE the sentiment "I'm the only one who can take me out", though. Wouldn't have wanted him as an enemy in the street.
He did horrible things and benefited from that life and the things he did, but yet you can feel that he is genuinely sorry and remorseful. People don’t take into account- no matter what he did in the streets, he is a hero as a veteran. He protected our rights with his life. He was mentally abused and used. Not making an excuse for him but he was a young man who had seen action oversees with PTSD and needed a place to land. He regrets what he did and he did help eventually put these people in jail. He was inherently scared for his own life if he didn’t abide with the Gambino family’s wishes. He is a complex man, horrible, great and indifferent. His story had to be told. Thank you for sharing! Pray for his family 🙏
Yeah you all need to shut it like you know the guy personally. Save that bullcrap hero veteran crap because Vietnam posed absolutely no threat to our freedom or our country. Nino knew “the life” was not for Dominick, that’s why Nino had Dom work for him only; his driver/ bodyguard & $$$$$$ collector, can’t get in serious trouble for that or get killed, the Gaggi name held a lot of weight & respect during those times! I hate the way people glorify this life....there is never a winner and everyone ends up dead in jail or with mental issues like Dom. Nothing cool or sexy about it. A dark path that leads to nothing but misery, guilt, self loathing and the worst thing of all is losing your peace of mind. I really hope he is not in a place suffering only God can judge.
That's sad, have a heart people.
This one really got me Ross!
Ian check out our latest post your in it with Dom
Hey Ross You Back
Post dramatic stress disorder he got from his time in the special forces and what he seen and done in the mafia which we will never know what the extent was with what he did is his business, he's one of these guys that most people would truly love you get on with,RIP Don, your at peace now bro
It’s impossible to understand a man that has seen the horrors of war and the life Dom has seen. SF or SOG of Vietnam was extremely serious and terrible. Dom had tremendous pain he was suffering from.
Pretty dark shit
Bad ass Green Beret
That interviewer was pushing the limit a bit. Dom could snapped at things he said
Man had a conscience. Seems like his biggest regret was not being able to live a normal life, which was stolen from him.
He had a lot of pressure on him
How so?
@@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio don't you just love how people speak for him like they've known him his whole life. How are you doing sweetheart? I'm sorry he was never really there for you, I hope God blesses you 🙏
I like a lot of what you’ve posted. But why post something showing this man in this condition?
Because that is who he was and what he struggled with .. its reality. We are showing all the good and the bad
Most of us drink at times, some days more than others
Very sad
Crazy irony here. Dom’s father was a drinker and was estranged from his wife and kid by Nino. All these years later, Dom is a drinker that is estranged from his family.
@@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio I believe that. Eventually trust and loyalties wear out.
@@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio it’s a sad story. Obviously your mom put up with quite a bit, and also you and your siblings. As someone who appreciates the importance of the tight knit family, i can only imagine how difficult it must have been.
Making mistakes with family especially children or maybe that 1 women in the world you actually were meant for and yous 2 loved each other deeply at a time, and them just deciding there done with you especially if your an older man like dom was here that’s gotta be brutal maybe the worst thing ever really torturious as a father R.I.p big DOM BE AT PEACE YOUR WITH THEM EVERY DAY NOW
@@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio I can imagine how much it must piss you off seeing all these idiots admiring your father like he's some great guy that fell victim to something he had no control of, which it's actually the complete opposite. If Murder Machine never came out and noone knew who he was these same people would spit on him and call him every harsh name in the book. Just goes to show how fake and full of 💩 people are
Hi from Russia. Very interesting character. I definitely can see a movie or TV series sou his life. He is not less interesting than Irishman, for example. Though having read the book, I think TV series might have suited it better, cause most of the interesting facts and life periods were not used due to movie time constraints.
Awfull thing Alcoholism! ❤️
This is gonna be difficult to watch.

@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio if u rob a church and have the steeple sticking out of your @$$, deny it. - John gotti sr.
@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio while I don't live by that motto one can't deny its a great quote.
I don't like seeing Dom fucked up like this. The guy was pretty sharp & thoughtful when sober, and an outstanding story-teller. I do, however, LOVE the sentiment "I'm the only one who can take me out", though. Wouldn't have wanted him as an enemy in the street.
It’s sad that he did die
😪😪😪🌹🌹🌹❤️
We should of never been there. If Murder Machine was never published and you didn't know who Dom was you wouldn't give 2 💩 about him and would be disgusted by him.
Sadly at a certain point there's seemingly no coming back from a certain lifestyle. When Mr. Montiglio left the armed services and returned to New York I believe his fate was sealed. Rip.
I don’t like seeing these video interviews of Dominick looking like this! It’s not a good look for Dominick and it’s an embarrassment towards his ex wife and kids! His kids & grandkids don’t need to see this kind of behavior! We’ll never, never know the REAL TRUTH on what happened during the Montiglio’s living in the WitSec Program , this is Dom’s side of the story but then you have the ex wife, his son & daughter side of the story & them 3 really know the real truth how it was living with Dominick plus to, he just can’t put all the blame on Uncle Nino either. Nino knew “the life” was not for Dominick, that’s why Nino had Dom work for him only; his driver/ bodyguard & $$$$$$ collector, can’t get in serious trouble for that or get killed, the Gaggi name held a lot of weight & respect during those times! So no matter what Dominick says, he was safe under Uncle Nino, Dom’s problem was like many other low level WiseGuys, he thought he was gonna make a lot of money but didn’t know how to make a lot of money without making Nino look bad, first with Carlo Gambino and then with Paul Costellano.
@@jimbeam-ru1my ….And before Dominick passed away, he was making all these UA-cam videos of himself telling a different version of himself while he was working under Nino but finally someone understands what I’m talking about! Yeah, I would feel guilty too that I put my uncle in jail and I knew he was looking out for me but I was too damn blind & stupid too see it!! Gotta take responsibility too for your own actions, it just sucks ass that his wife & kids we’re dragged down with him!
There was no UA-cam in 2001-2005 … get a grip. We made a documentary about his life . Good bad and the ugly .. armchair warriors sit and judge .. you have very little clue of what your talking about
@@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio ……And you & your family have all the right to be pissed at your dad. All this has been brewing in each of your lives for years and it’s hard to forgive and forget but now your dad being gone, hopefully you and your family will finally have some type of closure cause it’s been a long time coming for you & your family…….
@@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio …..I totally agree with you about this video on your dad but unfortunately there is other ones I have seen a couple years ago of your dad, the same way and I was really in shock to see him that way, compare to him back in the early 1990’s, I would have thought your dad and your family made it out ok, living some where in the middle of America living normal lives and your mom & dad enjoying the grand kids!…….But I will say this, a lot of us liked your dad when we saw him on TV back in the 90’s, we we’re rooting for all you guys to make it out ok & just try to live normal lives again minus the drama, so
sorry to hear it didn’t happen that way for you guys ……
@whatsmynamecamariedmontiglio Hold on. I'm confused. Didn't your father testify against dozens of mobsters? Doesn't that mean that he had to go into the witness program or they would kill him? I don't understand why you thought that was unreasonable. I can sympathize with what you went through as child. I'm sure it's a scary thing to be in at the age. But being how brutal and powerful the mafia was at that time. Do you think they would of just left your family alone and Domenick could of went on his own?
I can't seem to figure that out
Thanks
Nino Gaggi wasn't good for him....And its like that in families where you have obligations to family members who mean you no good and you're stuck in that family circle of trauma where everyone is eating chunks of flesh off each other all in the name of "This is family. We come first".
Did he just have a stroke when this was filmed?
Another dom pity party
Sounds like Dominik couldn't live with what hes done or seen in his previous life.
Its more proof there can't be justice the Gemini twins are both out got 50 + body's he Dominic didn't have to help he wanted to
At least he didn't groom his children for mafia life, continuing the cycle like these other fathers have
I think when a good man lives in a way thats against his morality, he suffers internally. Take LCN away from Domonick and he would be a completely different human with much less conflict. Not his fault, his situation ,it's what he knew, RIP Domonick.{edited part}, I'm glad he had someone to talk to in his last years, most men have noone to talk to
to get some relief from the guilt and regret. You seemed to be agood friend without judgement.
That's big for a man with regret. I wish he found another way to deal with his pain.
Love the video, but it makes me sad for him and his family.
Morality??from who ???even Jesus was killed by the polices lol
