I just took delivery of my new 2018 SE 1.5L turbocharged EcoBoost Fusion this week and I love it. I really don’t understand all the hate in the comments but hey, that’s your opinion and I’ll respect that. I got mine because the idea of having a safer and bigger vehicle for my newborn is what counts for me at the end of the day. I will agree, the safety anchors are pretty difficult to access but I’ll look past that. The car has a nice note during acceleration and let’s not forget, with all the windows up and sunroof closed, this car does an OUTSTANDING job canceling any outside noise making for an even better experience.
I just picked up a leftover 2017 sport with 27 miles on the odometer. The msrp was stickered at 35600. The ford dealer had it listed at 25500. It was a brand new car I can't be happier for the price it was a steal.
I own a 2018 fusion titanium awd. Love the 2.0t great car sticks to the road. I’m a parts guy at a ford dealer and the 1.5 ,1.6 motors have coolant consumption/head gasket issues , same issue in the escapes with the same motors. Also the 2.7 has a plastic oil pan see a lot of leakers most need to be replaced and resealed by 40k. If you have a 2.7 on any ford they recommend waiting 15 minutes to check your oil because it takes that long for all of it to get back to the pan. Ford replaces the motors when the have have oil pressure issues. In the fusion sports , edge sports , F-150. The 2.0 is a very solid motor. Got mine used CPO 9,000 miles 18k.
Awesome review!! I have a beautiful white 2018 fusion hybrid and I lovvvve it! So easy and safe to drive and feels very safe and well made. Gets about 38 mpg :D
Great honest, upfront review. I own a 2015 2015 Fusion Titanium. My 2.0 4cyl has great go power, but it's got 18mpg combined. The best all freeway was 25mpg, but I still love overall driving experience over my 30 years and 3 Toyota Camry owner drives.
embee j4 I got 31 mpg between Vegas and Salt Lake City at 80 mph all the way and there is quite an increase in elevation. Around town it's about 25. Very happy with it 2014 Titanium 2.0 turbo.
on trip to pt reyes and back to sacramento.i get 27 mpg highway and back roads..just on the highway at 67 mph and strangely also 74 mph i get 33 mpg/// weird, at 70 mph i get 28 mpg..must be two sweet spots to the engine , transmission.. ruby red,, se w/ lux package, now at 150000 miles on the clock, and still very smooth and powerful..i have the Spanish 2.0 turbo engine in my car... got lucky on that one
Purchased the 2013 Fusion when it first came out and 2 years later purchased a Cadillac CTS Coupe. The Fusion is a much better ride. I ending up selling my CTS Coupe and regret wasting money on it. It was a beautiful car and I received lots of compliments on it, but I always told people it wasn't a good ride. The CTS was twice the price too. Just because something is more expensive doesn't make it better.
I have the Platinum. 2017. Love it. Am concerned about the number of dead battery complaints due to a draw after the car shuts off. Glad I took the Ford extended warranty.
Yep had to get a new battery but it was an Aftermarket battery to Begin with only 6800 miles on it an someone changed the battery out, what scammers the dealership people were.... That's some sketchy shit man, but 16k miles car is beautiful no problems at all, it's 2019 titanium hybrid I love it man, fully loaded
My issue with used, is it's really hard to find a used car with all the options I really want. One reason I'm looking at the Fusion, is it's cheap even fully loaded compared to something like an Infiniti Q50 Sport. I know these cars aren't in the same class, but I'm looking for very specific things in the next car I buy - Q50 just happens to be one that offers what I'm looking for too.
That's a pretty sweet deal. The only draw back is you don't know if the car was abused by the previous owner. If you can deal with residue left in the car by the previous owners, it's certainly a bargain.
There must be something wrong with that Fusion and the dealer knows it. There's no way they're going to purposely lose money on a sale. That's not how the Japanese auto manufacturers achieved such great success. Also, if Ford were really killing off the Fusion, that car would be even more valuable, as it would be the one of the last few top-of-the-line production samples. But Ford has said that the Fusion will live on for at least a few more years.
Randy Jackson The Chrysler 200 was a crappy car and Chrysler had no choice but to scrap it. Big difference with the Fusion, as it's been a top seller for Ford over the past decade. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what really happens with the Fusion. I am not a fan of CUVs or SUVs, but I'm sure car makers are going to make them cool one way or another.
6:54 I think you want to look at that trunk lid again. My 2017 Fusion SE has a hand recess on the left side. not sure why they would take it away in later versions.
Sorry sir, the car is far from boring. Overpriced - Yes!! Not competitive with Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai the list goes on. Didn't say Chris was bad. Just think he would be awesome reviewing leaf blowers, lawn movers too!
A 2013 Titanium is no where near what a 17-18 fusion sport drives like or feels like. Many things have changed and until you drive one, you will have no clue. I have driven a 13 titanium (first year) vs now.
I love my 2015 Ford Fusion SE but it’s been very cold where i live and the heat isn’t working right. it takes forever to get heat even when the car is warmed up. the transmission is so jerky.
Lucas Jones driving a little sedan with eco mode tuned on yeah heat up will take FOREVER. Vs. Starting up my "real" Ford Lightning. I just turned him on, even in Minnesota sub zero is was toasy
MyTubamaster unless its a Lamborghini (never rode in one but assume it would shift like butter due to more gears). Any special vehicle w a supercharger..less so with just a turbo. High torque vehicles shift rough on cruise control. More power=more jerking. If you want something smooth get a Buick or crown Vic.
I really like this car and I’ve driven plenty of Fusions but there’s no way I’d think of paying that much for a Fusion. I actually went to a Ford dealer to get one (just a simple se with sunroof)... ended up with an Escape with features I wanted because it was cheaper lol.
Wow. Really crappy thing to say about needing public transportation if you have problems parallel parking. I have 4 rods and 30 screws in my back. The very reason I am looking for a new car now is for increased safety bc I can't twist well anymore. Lots of back fusions out there that need all the safety help they can get!
Just got mine. Platinum energi. . Down graded from Lincoln mkz. . I like the car but it is gutless...i would be afraid to pass anyone on the highway.. 20 km on electric after a 7 hour charge ... hard to say great... noiser than the Lincoln.. new sync I like the old one... No speed dial on phone... dials for fan and heat not the easiest to find! Not sure ill last 4 years on my lease with this car
Gosh that's not a review that's a salesman at work 🙄 Was the check big? Didn't even point out the terrible shifter nor all the other "creativity" Ford has put out there to make us want to bang our heads on the steering wheel. C'mon Bob, it's not "a little bit confusing", it's deadly dangerous. Casualties already happened because you can't tell if you're either in park reverse or drive.
Rahuley Shar Bro, the wrx is a rough riding bro mobile that leaks oil at 5k and blows it's engine at 50k. Don't compare that overhyped pos to this masterpiece.
Narration seems scripted and Chris goes overboard trying using convoluted language to describe the mundane...comes off as salesman like with unnatural flow.
Uh yeah, what is your point? They've been making cars since 1903 and remain one of the largest automakers in the world. Seems like they're doing pretty good to me!
i am sorry but you are a very bad reviewer, you just talked about technical ability of this car, what about viewing angle of the mirrors how big are doors when you want to go inside or come out from the car, what about back seats comfort? and so on, you just drove the car i don't know how many miles and you were talkling about technical numbers and this is you are calling car review?
Ford has the worst interiors in the business. They have the ugliest plastics. Then there's that horrid fit and finish inside and huge panel gaps on the exterior. The curb weight of many SUVs. Pass
I just bought a 2018 Sport trim. So much fun to drive and nice to drive. It’s a fast car while still remaining comfortable and practical.

I might buy a 2018 titanium only 17k miles selling for 18k STEAL! 1 owner no accidents
@@johndoe-zb8bm i got a new 2019 impreza for about 18,500 awd
Still enjoying it so far? I'm thinking about trading in my 2013 impala LT for a 2017 fusion sport!!
I own a 2018 fusion titanium awd. Love the 2.0t great car sticks to the road. I’m a parts guy at a ford dealer and the 1.5 ,1.6 motors have coolant consumption/head gasket issues , same issue in the escapes with the same motors. Chris does a good job of pointing out important details about the 2018 Fusion Sport... details that you may otherwise overlook. Thanks Chris...
Not alot of comments on how many views this has. Good video. Im enjoying my 2.5L 2016 SE with Apperance package.
Awesome review!! I have a beautiful white 2018 fusion hybrid and I lovvvve it! So easy and safe to drive and feels very safe and well made. Gets about 38 mpg :D
I love driving this car. So smooth.
I really like that particular blue.

Its awd option makes it much more attractive
One of the best car reviewer on you tube

My 2004 4Runner is about a day away from dying on me and I'm really looking to get me the Fusion
I have a fusion. 2.0 ecoboost all wheel drive. I love it.
Luke Hoisington how's the transmission?
kj k not bad
Nice review Chris
I have the Platinum. 2017. Love it. Am concerned about the number of dead battery complaints due to a draw after the car shuts off. Glad I took the Ford extended warranty.
Warranties do not include batteries
Yep had to get a new battery but it was an Aftermarket battery to Begin with only 6800 miles on it an someone changed the battery out, what scammers the dealership people were.... That's some sketchy shit man, but 16k miles car is beautiful no problems at all, it's 2019 titanium hybrid I love it man, fully loaded
Great review. Much obliged.
I got a used 2017 fusion platinum for $26000 with only 17262 miles. Just wait a year resale value drops and save thousands.
Manny Henry i just got a 2017 for 17,000 after taxes. 43,000 miles on it though.

I was going to buy this but with the features and such, it goes up to $40K+ .. *woah*
I love Chris, best reviewer out there. I really think I am going to get one of these. Sensible fun.
Louis Noce not even close
Ford should make the Wagon 'order only' in the US.
I think thats the plan when they discontinue the sedan. Atleast replace it with a crossover wagon.
unfortunately they wont be making any fusions in the future...
Best car ever!
Love that color!
6:54 I think you want to look at that trunk lid again. My 2017 Fusion SE has a hand recess on the left side. not sure why they would take it away in later versions.
Yea the 17 and 18 are the same
excellent presentation as usual
Is there a fusion hybrid plug in with awd??? Witch one plz
Did you say only about 250miles of range on a full tank of gas? That doesn't sound good, but still a great ride!!
This guy would be awesome at reviewing blenders, toasters or washer and dryer.
juschill7
Chris is good. It’s this car: it’s as boring as a toaster.
Sorry sir, the car is far from boring. Overpriced - Yes!! Not competitive with Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai the list goes on. Didn't say Chris was bad. Just think he would be awesome reviewing leaf blowers, lawn movers too!
He is not looking at the road :)
juschill7
Okay, I get it.
juschill7 do you spam that for every video
I want that blue color but there isn’t any in my area and I refuse to pay for shipping fees
what's the difference in 2017 and 2018 models. some 2018s look like 2017s and vice versa
Love my 2017 SE 2.0T AWD
Does anybody know what that A dial thing is below the rotary gear shift dial?
Way too similar to my 2013 Fusion. Why pay $40k for the new one when you can buy a used 2013 Titanium for $12k?
Cause the used titanium doesn't have the 2.7l ecoboost.
And no V6 as well
And 4 years old = high probability of being in the junkyard in just a few more years.
A 2013 Titanium is no where near what a 17-18 fusion sport drives like or feels like. Many things have changed and until you drive one, you will have no clue. I have driven a 13 titanium (first year) vs now.
oldtwins na It's a ford, not a bmw.
My 2016 Fusion has a handle to close the trunk🤔
Un saludo especial años tras año Ford sigue çiendo huellas y trayectoria ha segui
Why oh why do people say , could care less ? They actually mean to be saying couldn't care less. Happens a lot and is really starting to annoy me.
Ford needs to make the AWD available with any engine and any trim level if they want to compete with the new Altima with AWD.
Nodak81 Altima has awd in every car now?
Nissan is trash, so it doesn't really need to compete with it.
Looks nice.
I have owned a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and now the proud owner of a 2015 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid...never going back to a Fusion!!!
Martin King Isn't the mkz a fusion? I get it has a nicer interior, but the fusion has a more attractive exterior.
Puff the Magic Dragon it all depends on what you like...the fusion is more sporty looking and the MKZ is more luxury...and myself I prefer luxury
Martin King Exactly, that's what I said. I'm just waiting to see the next mkz , I'm not a fan of the current mkz's exterior styling.
This is a very nice color when viewed from a close distance, but looks dull from a distance.
superb
I love my 2015 Ford Fusion SE but it’s been very cold where i live and the heat isn’t working right. it takes forever to get heat even when the car is warmed up. the transmission is so jerky.
Lucas Jones driving a little sedan with eco mode tuned on yeah heat up will take FOREVER. Vs. Starting up my "real" Ford Lightning. I just turned him on, even in Minnesota sub zero is was toasy
I have a 2014 se and the trans is shit it gave up at 80,000 miles I paid 3800 to get it rebuild and it still doesn't shift smooth like butter
Thx dude
Dint know Phil swift did car reviews 🤔
They need to eliminate the base 2.5. It's not very efficient or powerful and is noisy at revs.
Noisy asf and its annoying asf.
$41k holy crap too much for a fusion. It better cook and clean for me too
I really like this car and I’ve driven plenty of Fusions but there’s no way I’d think of paying that much for a Fusion. I actually went to a Ford dealer to get one (just a simple se with sunroof)... ended up with an Escape with features I wanted because it was cheaper lol.
Ford or Camry y'all I need to know I need help
they need to update it to the 10 speed transmission. The six speed is ruining it.
Joshua George doubt it but a seven speed would be better
Laquan c they only have an upcoming eight speed and a ten speed in their line up. I don't know about the 7 speed
Yes, just what it needs, more moving parts to fail.
This car has enough torque no 10 speed needed
Fusion 2018 AWD😢😢😢
...........41K...GETS ME A VERY NICE F150.......CREW CAB,V8...........;;--)),,,,,,,,,,,,
Fusion front end looking very mustangish.
4 door mustang or fusion coupe..
the mpg tho
I get 475 miles till empty in my sport
Noah Damoose you have a large gas tank
I’m sorry
At least In 2 more years you can get $500 in trade value
Maybe 1500 if you want to sell it outright and have strangers/cash in your home 👍🏽
You paid 40k for a fusion? :(
Mine gets 407 on a full tank according to the gauge. 87 non ethanol
Wow. Really crappy thing to say about needing public transportation if you have problems parallel parking. I have 4 rods and 30 screws in my back. Btw the premium Sony audio system isn't premium at all!
Gosh that's not a review that's a salesman at work 🙄

Exactly!
Nothing really changed with the looks. Love the front end, but the backend is fugly compared to the Sonata.
Mid 30's price range for 2.0 fusion se before taxes? WRX is much better car for money!
Rahuley Shar the wrx will get recked by the fusion sport 🤦♂️
Rahuley Shar Bro, the wrx is a rough riding bro mobile that leaks oil at 5k and blows it's engine at 50k. Don't compare that overhyped pos to this masterpiece.
the fusion will destroy a wrx of the line all day lol, with the tunes OMG lol it a monsters!!
The Henry Family It a monsters?? I know what you're saying, and I agree, but check your grammar before responding please.
untill you replace the headgaskets
Narration seems scripted and Chris goes overboard trying using convoluted language to describe the mundane...comes off as salesman like with unnatural flow.
Many comments are correct, with sedans being out of style at the moment, just wait a year or two and this car will only be 20K
venictos sedans are not out of style. Theyre everywhere where I live.
More than half a decade? You mean like a little over five years? lol at half a decade. Just saying five years didnt have the same impact did it?
At the end of the day, it’s still a Ford
meaning you liked the car but because it has a ford name on it you wont like it..
Uh yeah, what is your point? They've been making cars since 1903 and remain one of the largest automakers in the world. Seems like they're doing pretty good to me!
Meaning it's "Fix Or Repair Daily"?
" Found on road dead" :)))
Nick Zeragia Not true anymore.
Overpriced
God for 41K I’ll get a Mustang GT 5.0
i am sorry but you are a very bad reviewer, you just talked about technical ability of this car, what about viewing angle of the mirrors how big are doors when you want to go inside or come out from the car, what about back seats comfort? and so on, you just drove the car i don't know how many miles and you were talkling about technical numbers and this is you are calling car review?

it weighs in at 150 pounds more in the than a camry. sonata. or the other cars could be heavier.depending on engine and trim level
Weak
