My first girlfriends dad was a POW in Vietnam. He died after returning from Vietnam, he was struck by lightning. He put the fear in God in me about how he wanted his daughter treated.

I did a semester long project on the Vietnam War and actually read a book written to describe the experience of one of the POW’s. I didn’t finish it but it was a real shock, I remember one part where a man was being tortured and made a Vietnamese guard cry. It was so surreal and powerful, really recommend people to look into books like this as a way to remember the battles they fought. Thank you to the brave soldiers who fought for our safety🙏

Uh...Remember the US invaded Vietnam at the time. Not so much as "fighting for your safety" as trying to take over other countries' liberty

If he got captured by the local Vietnamese people, he would get worse fate than being tortured in North Vietnam prison. At least the North Vietnamese government kept them alive to make politicalm deal with the US.

@s0sDarkAngels0s the United States was trying to stop the communist North from taking over South Vietnam.

Unfortunately that was but a small fraction of Vietnam vets at the dinner. The others were spat upon and treated like the enemies. Even so, thank you all for your service what a warm storyline

POW's discussing how the US Economy faced Currency Issues after a few years of fighting to save another Colony in Southeast Asia.....
Here we are again as the US attempts to rescue another Colonial possession on the Pacific Rim, as Currency issues seem to be driving Bankers out of business.
Is this a continuation of the issues that made the support for LBJ declaring War on Poverty,
something that Mike Mansfield had to inform Johnson were unaffordable?
Are we once again facing problems that come from using Gunboat Diplomacy in the age of Hyper Sonic Weapons?
Is the ability to ask Citizens to fight to support the Wealthy Investor, getting even more difficult?

    Fun fact:
How Vietnamese treated to POW from US: 🍚🍚🍚
How Japanese treated to POW from US: 🗡️🩸💀
So don't think Vietnam bad, unless you prefer KATANA than RICE

The US never declared war on Vietnam, they are no POWs.
