Organic Cotton -- Grown in the USA

- One of our first partners in growing organic cotton in the mid-90s, the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC) is still farming strong out on the high plains of Texas. West Texas is prime land for growing cotton organically, because of low insect pressure, a timely freeze to defoliate the cotton without the use of chemical agents, and enough rainfall to dryland-farm a healthy amount of the cotton.
Wonderful video and we are proud to get the cotton we use for most of our materials from Lubbock, TX!
I'm so glad that Texas has caught into the Chemical Companies lies about their products.
Natural has always been the best and cheapest way plus it keeps Local people Employed and stops the community dying. God bless them and help them succeed in this Amazing venture.
Organic agriculture is environmental vandalism.
@@DukeGMOLOL No it's not, but I know what you are saying I think.
@@tofan2622 Hello Matthew. Here's is what I'm saying, organic methods have overall substantially lower yields which means more land must be ripped from nature to grow the same amount of food. There's no way around it since organic rejects modern methods. Regards.

Видно, сбор хлопка доставляет им удовольствие. А я, когда собирал у нас, заболел бронхитом и похудел на 10 кг
Organic Cotton Made in USA Is a true win win Story!
Organic agriculture is environmental vandalism.
Extremely well made and informative.
Great! We need more people like these!
Excellent work everyone! God bless you for it!
Thank you!
Growing cotton without pesticides seems to require more land to protect the planet and people. It just seems like a high-end product for a few.
Yes, organic methods rip more land from nature to grow the same amount.
Look at all that soil blowing in the wind! You're not there yet!
Much respect!

Regenerative is the way. Find out what those "weeds" are doing (or not) to the soil around your desired plant. It's mainly a myth that the "weeds" are competing to moisture. Keep that armor on the ground - especially in Texas.
How about switching to Pima rather than Upland cotton?

Go to established respected permaculture sites to inform your decisions.
How do you kill the cover?
@@DukeGMOLOL I have had some success rolling it,but a shot of glyphosate and its a done deal.
@@jimmydykes7961 Exactly!! Glyphosate is the great enabler of no till.
How to you dry your organic cotton?
Do
Get it picked for my vape boy
FARMERS.
The farmers in the video act like they don't use pesticides. They do, several of them are more toxic than glyphosate.
How do you know this?
@@janevitek-dixon2100 --Because organic agriculture allows certain pesticides including a couple of synthetic ones.
Because if they did not use pesticides to fight insects, fungi, etc. they would go broke.
You can find many of the allowed pesticides at omri.org.
You can find the allowed synthetics at:
