I actually beat the PS2 European Extreme Solidus choking part a few times. No tricks. The key is to keep pressing rapidly enough, but not too rapidly because you will tire more quickly. With a good enough rhythm, you won't tire and you can hold onto your health. If you just start spamming the button like crazy as fast as you can, you can't keep it up for long and you're dead.
The best way that works every time for me, in both mgs1 and 2, is to rake your first finger across the button left and right. Every tap counts as 1 press, but by doing this, left and right count as 2 presses

Its been a while but when you fight Metal Gear Rex in Metal Gear Solid immediately start running to the bottom right corner of the hanger and press up against the pillar, he will look for you but miss you, once his back is turned fire a rocket, he will be alerted but by the time he turns around he will have forgotten your location, rinse and repeat and you can beat him without loosing health. This can work for the second phase of the battle but is a little more tricky as your target is smaller.

Thank you so much for this. I could never beat this game on EU-E because Olga. Maybe now I can do it. Probaly one of the hardest MGS games on the highest difficulty.
Actually Vamp is even easier to beat in the water room. You hang into the water and jump up when he tries to slash you and then get a two hit combo like in your video, but instead of following up with a three hit combo that will knock him into the water, just stand next to him and he will go for a slow slash again so just run around him and do two, two hit combos and he’ll slash again so just avoid the slash and two hit combo him some more and repeat until you’ve beaten him
Really helpful vid, helped a lot on some bosses for the dogtags trophy, may I add some additional tips: - for first tengus you can skip it with a glitch by doing cqc in 1st person while sticking against the exit (look this one up it’s all over the internet) - for Solidus you can dodge the missiles easily by going towards him when he starts firing, then as soon as the first missile is about to accelerate, just cartwheel once, you will be right in front of him and he’ll be vulnerable to attacks, also for the second part if you push him to the ground, then keep a long distance after, he will only rush to you once without fire, very easy to block and then parry, I find it even easier this way because he’s less likely to use his sword (like 90% of the time it’s his elbow smash)
Damn I remember this Solidus torture on ps2 on Extreme difficulty. It was so fuckning exhausting because you had to keep pressing it like ten times per second for more than half a minute.
A spoon and pen trick? Wtf, i used my playstation 1, put MGS1 in it and used the permanent vibriaton test in the option menu for the controller. just hold still one grip of the ps1 controller over the triangle = win.
For Fortune and the Harrier you can spam the i-frames from shooting from behind cover to acvoid damage. Fortune is so easy when you cheese her lol. And fuck Fatman till I die
8:31 Or an even easier, albeit kind of cheaty, way to clear the first tengu section is to make it all the way up to the door. Face away from it, go into first person view then do Raiden's full punch-punch-kick combo. Since the kick in the combo pushes Raiden back for a second it will push you through the closed door for only a moment, but just enough that Raiden touches the transition trigger. And voila! You have skipped a kind of annoying section! I haven't tried it on the HD edition, but it probably works there too. Works on the original PC port of Substance though.
xD it's so many rays on higher difficulty? I always thought the rays would regain their HP and I never managed to beat it/gave up because they always "revived" :D:D:D damn, why did nobody tell me that 20 years ago? (game is almost 20 years old WTF?)
For Fortune is pretty easy, and you don't even have to move. There is no need to waste Life with her. Let me explain the trick (and this is something valuable for speed runners, but I think no one has discovered this): Once the battle has started, go to the right and flatten against the soil next to barrel that is in the corner and press the first person button, just keep looking at the wall, Fortune will destroy everything, even the barrel next to you, but she will not hit you, keep doing it till the battle ends and don't move. The rays from the Rail Gun will not hit you in the battle, if you do this correctly, you will see the rays in front of you, but you will not recibe damage, I tried this glitch on all difficulties, tried in PC, PS2, and PS3 (HD version) and the glitch havent been fixed. Try it! You will see that it Works ^^ Just keep on first person view mode till the end of the battle.

- for Solidus you can dodge the missiles easily by going towards him when he starts firing, then as soon as the first missile is about to accelerate, just cartwheel once, you will be right in front of him and he’ll be vulnerable to attacks, also for the second part if you push him to the ground, then keep a long distance after, he will only rush to you once without fire, very easy to block and then parry, I find it even easier this way because he’s less likely to use his sword (like 90% of the time it’s his elbow smash)
Oh yeah also for tengus you can do what you do but block them with coolant, from the right corner
I passed E Extreme mode back in 2011. One of the most difficult challenges I ever gave myself. Especially that Ray fight. . .😬
I'm still not 100% sure how I finished this game
Great stuff. IIRC this game doesn't have auto fire check so you can use a turbo pad to mash triangle
7:34 Vamp goes "Arrgghhh.Arrggghhh" LOL
9:16 YEEE AHH.. this is what nature planned !!
Damn I remember this Solidus torture on ps2 on Extreme difficulty. It was so fuckning exhausting because you had to keep pressing it like ten times per second for more than half a minute.
seva809 if you press button too fast console tends to halves your input and then every second press will be missed
Good to know. Thanks for the info.
seva809 no problem. Found it in a hard way so I don't want people snap their fingers doing this pointless work
@WilkTheMasterStalker : Snap fingers or even worse - break the controller.
seva809 I think I only broke one. Maybe 'twas Demon Souls and soul sucking Old King Allant that I was fighting with broken dodge button

Looking at fortune's health/stamina confirms she's the weakest Metal Gear character ever without her bullet deflection.
Yeah but we can't even kill her tho...she's weaker than the guards with no body armor
"Fatman contacted US" "NOW! BULLSEYE." I laughed so hard the first time I heard that.
7:30-7:42 is the funniest shit ever lmao
A spoon and pen trick? Wtf, i used my playstation 1, put MGS1 in it and used the permanent vibriaton test in the option menu for the controller. just hold still one grip of the ps1 controller over the triangle = win.
How do I defeat the *3 bosses* in mgs5 easily?
umm, could someone enlighten me about it? I guess I've forgotten a lot since I played that game.
You Shoot the shit out of them
Snake: *Picks up a gun for the trillionth time* “Wow incredible!!!”
First
Edit: Y'all like the new pfp? Issa goat cause im the son of a GOAT which makes me a GOAT ❤👀 (Ahhhh damn I got the heart ☺)
George Salonikh's Son goodone m8
Its been a long time snake
Honestly, though, you have played the game for a long time.
*Don't you have anything else to do with your time?*
Honestly just Fat Man is hell. He actually forced you to be GOOD at the game, every other boss was just hours of memorization.
For Fortune and the Harrier you can spam the i-frames from shooting from behind cover to acvoid damage. Fortune is so easy when you cheese her lol. And fuck Fatman till I die
The Best MGS2 Playthrough : The Trailer
I think it’s kind of hilarious that Olga’s 9mm USP is a one shot kill but Fortune’s railgun and Harrier Strafing runs aren’t. Lol
Love seeing MGS2 content! Hopefully we get a whole playthrough, keep up the great work.
Who will win?
25 top secret ultra powerful gigantic walking weapons with missiles and a machine gun, or one dude.
I always thought the rays would regain their HP and I never managed to beat it/gave up because they always "revived" :D:D:D
damn, why did nobody tell me that 20 years ago? (game is almost 20 years old WTF?)
its 5am and I got school tomorrow...
worth it

Try it! You will see that it Works ^^
Just keep on first person view mode till the end of the battle.
