    It's weird. I'm a 25 year old project management student in Sweden that has nothing to do with hoof trimming. I suffer lots with anxiety and insomna, and I struggle to find something that takes my mind off worries. But somehow this helps. Your attitude and thrive to help these cows warms my heart. Thank you

      I was just saying this exact thing I aswell had many many many but the pressure u feel is the worst pain ever especially cuz I didn't want to go get it lanced at the hospital I no what's gna b done but u wait a lil longer if ur going to let it pop on it's own man the pressure I no the exact moment even a tiny pin hole in it will cause instant relief

      Ive had many as well. Probably around 20 or so most had to be lanced at the hospital. Some required hospitalization. However all of them hurt extremely bad due to the fact they were infected, the relief from all the pressure was usually short lived.

      The pain from a abscess is one of the worst pains ever and they develope so freaking quickly (unless you have suffered from one you don't realise how quickly they do develope and how fast the pain goes from 1 to 10). Like the peeps who replied to Devi_Dane I suffer from abscesses more than I want to (I get about one ever other month due to medical issues), I now lance them myself (use all sterile blades and clean the area with medial grade skin cleaner first, during and after I'm lancing it).
      The relief this cow must of felt must of been epic, great to see a job well done 💖
      Hope all my fellow sufferers don't get any major abscesses in the future 🤞

    • @kyleboswell1381
      @kyleboswell1381 2 роки тому +7

      I had one in my hand so bad they had to lance it open and then pack it with medical tape with some kind of medicine on it everyday for 2 weeks. They pulled about a mile of wrap out the first few days I swear lol. Each day you see the less tape. I've had plenty and I had one on my forearm with this one and I smelled that rotten smell of pussy death and I was like wtf and I saw it leaking out of my arm. I an infection on my leg this summer from a bike wreck. It was just a bad scratch and was healing just fine and right before it was completely healed my ankle to my calf was badly red and I waited a couple days instead of going to the hospital. Finally I had to pick off the little scab and the nastiest rotten puss I've ever seen came pouring out like a faucet. I squeezed and pushed out puss and crap for 20 mins. Black chunks every once in awhile which was dead tissue I guess. The relief when you open them up is unbelievably great.

Lots of health & mental issues all his life; wasn’t a great father to my cousins, unhappy marriage & divorce. Now later in life he has returned to working on a dairy farm after doing it for summer work in high school. My grandpa told me he is so happy working at the farm, even though he doesn’t make much. I've haf a tiny callus misgrowth in my foot due to stepping on a punaise, cant imagine how these cows must hurt... may be they feel less, (them being on their hoofs all the time) but it must still hurt plenty. That said this channel feels like a marriage between crafts/skills and a pimple popper. :)

      They have a much higher pain tolerance than horses. We had a calf get stuck inside the birth canal of a cow back in the '70s when I worked on a horse farm. We found her wandering around her pasture eating with a hoof hanging out of her. What a time our vet had of catching her. She dragged him around until they were near a tree he was able to tie her up to. In the end, he had to reach in and pull the front leg of the calf into the right position and then he used a chain around the calf's ankles and winched her out. Cow and calf were both fine.

    What's the funniest thing you've ever seen on a farm.
    Mine is when my dad was a relief milker and the bull used to just stay with the herd, even during milking, he would just about fit in the milking cubicles and have some feed.
    He loved watching the cows go through and we would leave the parlour door slightly open to let him see. One day my sister was standing in the doorway with her back to the yard when Billy decided she was in the way of him watching so he put his head between her legs and lifted her clear off the ground between his horns.

    • @Tomeccho
      @Tomeccho 2 роки тому +2

      Lots of farms I've worked on run bulls with the cows to 'mop up' after AI was over. Most wait at the back of the yard and are happy to be let out as you lock the cows in. Had a few bulls that would bail up with the cows. Freakiest though was the bull who would exit partway through milking by walking through the pit. Never got caught in the milklines or knocked anything over, would just weave his way calmly along the pit of a 25ASHB then up the steps and out.
      First time it happened the guy I was milking with deliberately didn't warn me because it was a 'rite of passage' for the new workers to experience this without prior warning... dangerous for sure but also very telling of character lol
      Needless to say I damn near crapped my pants at the brush of something behind me as I swung cups. Thinking it was my workmate, and then realising that was a nope as I saw him further down the pit, I turned and was faced with a Hereford bull, who was my height at the shoulder, calmly walk past without a care in the world.
      Holishiiiit 😳
