Ukraine is now being routed in Kursk. It is paying a heavy price and gaining nothing. The incursion didn't cause Russia to shift troops from the east. It weakened Ukraine's forces in the east, allowing Russia to take large swaths of territory that, unlike Kursk, have strategic significance. It was an act of a desperate military. Events after this video's production have made these two look like clowns. The Kursk incursion was a propaganda win in the short term but a strategic failure in the long term.
So, 4700 casualties, 68 tanks including many Abrams, 27 IFVs and 336 APCs of various types and origins. Yes, I am starting to see why Tim thinks this is embarrassing.
As a ploy to draw Russian troops from the Donbas, the move into Kursk was never going to work. Putin may be embarrassed but, ceding land in one area so as to maintain an offensive in another is a standard Russian tactic. The gains in Donbas are the only bright spot Putin can point to and he's unlikely to give them up willingly.
🤦 look up the definition of invasion.....and read enough of the definition to get to the bit where it specifies intent.... The Ukraine do not intend to conquer territory or alter the Russian government. It is a military tactic, an offensive into the enemies territory, to weaken the invading enemy.
Even if the Ukrainians do not hold the land, it accomplished doubt in the mind of the leadership, and more important it started to show the populace and the world Russia is not unbeatable.

Can somebody explain to me how the UKrainians can attack inside Russia whilst at the same time defend and fight the Russians inside Ukraine ,other than the Ukrainians getting help and troops from elsewhere like Poland or the UK? Surely there is no way that the Ukrainians can fight the Russians in two countries at the same time. The only conclusion one can take form this, is that there is external help in Ukraine for the Ukrainians. For sure Putin and Company will be very annoyed and suspicious of the West over this. The question is how Russia will react with this new tactic by the Ukrainians. The weeks and months before winter sets in will be most interesting and telling.
They simply can't,the map of the battle field shows that. There are some analysts that think, that this was a trap.Proposal: Few months back,Budanov noticed that the Surovikin Line around that area had been dismantled. His logic was that Ukraine expected Russia to attack using the same road that they used in Feb 2022,in the direction of Kiev. Can YOU immagine Russia, leaving that HOLE opened for that long without a purpose. The Ukranians, thought that they reacted quicker,I LEAVE IT TO YOU

I have long found it odd to call the ebb and flow of frontlines an "invasion".
Bonjour. Poliakov did the same with Napoléon. He attacked on the side.
#Peremoha .. 🔥🔥🔥
I don't think it's a gamble at all - it is a risk but not a gamble. then most operations during war are a risk - without risk there is no gain.
Even if the Ukrainians do not hold the land, it accomplished doubt in the mind of the leadership, and more important it started to show the populace and the world Russia is not unbeatable.

eah, Zelenskyy Kursk misadventure ground to a screeching halt and caused staggering Ukrainian losses (as expected Ukrainian troops are completely exposed to Russian air-strikes and drone-strikes outside of defensive positions), but Ukrainians are stuck. Erratic Zelenskyy is obsessed with media hype, his DC handlers are obsessed with Kamala campaign and Syrsky is obsessed with his career (keeping his position even for one more week is more important for him than lives of all Ukrainian soldiers put together). All of them are just reinforcing the failure as they did in Bakhmut, Krinki or a publicly announced failed Zelenskyy offensive in 2023. Meanwhile vital Ukrainian positions at the actual front where the war is decided are crumbling.

I’d like to see the Times do a podcast on the regular stabbing attacks by Islamists across Europe! Each individual incident is reported but there is very little focus on the motives of the murderer. The Times need to look at this issue in its totality. I’ve travelled throughout Europe this summer - and in every country he locals tell me they feel less safe!
Because it’s Islamists most journalists duck the wider issue - we need to bold journalists to talk about the real issues!
So that stabbing incident in the UK was from someone who was a Muslim?

The loss of life on both sides in this war is sickening. I hope after the war is over both sides realize this. I feel like these journalists are only talking about the pretty parts of the Ukraine war; the incursion, it's getting pretty repetitive.
Russia is 6-10 miles away from Pokrovsk, inevitably will be taken. The incursion Ukraine is upon taking, they've only captured such a small area of kursk.
Let's be real, Ukraine is still losing the war, I doubt there's internal pressure in the kremlin, well not to the degree the journalists are saying.
