I just don’t understand why it is so easy to have the ‘vigilante justice is bad’ conversation but so hard to acknowledge the thousands of deaths caused by our healthcare system every year. Two things can be true at the same time.
Right? I just spent a chunk of the day trying to figure out if my mom would be able to afford the medication that she needs to stay alive. So... I'm not saying vigilante shootings in the street are the answer, but I am saying I get it...
I just lost my husband after 2 1/2 years of battling cancer and had to battle the insurance company and the doctor/hospital/clinics to get authorizations, approvals and probably due to my persistence experience delay after delay i. Treatments. Which I believe resulted in his death. But I was told a couple of times that he wouldn’t be approved for a certain treatment because it was too expensive but I kept calling and pushing and some how was able to be the sqeaky wheel and finally got approval. Only for it nit to be timely enough to save his life. It’s absolutely disgusting!!!
My condolences. If you get cancer, you need to fast and do the carnivore diet with real meats. Cold plunges, methylene blue, and a home hyperbaric chamber. That cancer will be gone in no time. Chemo is poison and everything else they give you. You can cure anything. Never get a biopsy because if it's a cancer, you're dead.
You can't buy good health, but when you pay for health care coverage, you have a right to expect to receive the benefits you pay for. When it is denied ... it harms us financially, emotionally, AND physically.
What's your advocating is nothing but vigilante Behavior I've had United Healthcare for years I've never been denied for a damn thing. Sometimes they make you jump through hoops but that's part of the process jump through many Hoops to have my cornea transplant this summer but guess what it was approved they paid for it I paid my deductible.

"cold and calculated, put lives at risk, offensive to our deeply held principles of justice" She thinks she's talking about Mangione, but all of this applies to Brian Thompson's behavior. And they lose credibility when they call it 'senseless'. Like if it doesn't make sense to you, ask someone to explain it because plenty of people, even if they don't think it was right thing to do, understand why.
@@jessiet8706 it is senseless. Brian Thompson didn’t make the rules. Obamacare does. You want real reform? Go after that and its architects who are 30 to 50 times richer than Thompson.
@@charisma-hornum-fries That’s a ridiculous statement. If you want reform, put your eye on the ball. It was a senseless killing bc will not achieve any reform. Obamacare is what regulated health insurance industry. Go after that and its architects who are 30 to 50 times richer than Thompson.
Exactly. I’m sorry but I’m really struggling to find the rage she’s expressing, especially because she has literally belittled the whole of the country for our honest reactions. I do not condone violence, however, this response is so out of touch to reality. It’s like they are trying to force the toothpaste back into the tube. After everything we’ve gone through as a society in the last 20-30 years, stop playing in our faces. Thoughts and prayers to BT’s family.
Well then take it to the Capital. It’s all under the ACA or Obamacare who shoved insurance down the throats of all US citizens at the cost of the working man.
I wish the media would be more specific and say "There are some celebrating his death, and some who are making it clear they don't condone violence but healthcare needs to be improved in major ways." But of course they wouldn't because that's not sensational enough.
They would NEVER. Campaign contributions are a quid pro quo. These same CEOs “donate” to political campaigns, which pretty much equals bribery to ignore the corruption.
Murder is wrong, I wanted to make sure I say that but in June 2024 we had hundreds of patients we had to tell they were being discharged from PT, OT, ST, and nursing because this insurance provider was no longer covering therapy services. I had a 55 year old female who had had a accident and required extensive therapy to regain basic function like being able to say “yes/no” and feed herself. These patients were shocked and devastated but had no options because until the end of the year they couldn’t switch insurance and others won’t be able to switch even then. Meanwhile insurance upper management are paying themselves millions but not providing coverage promised.
You guys are not much better throwing these people out. If medical providers really cared there would be an action taken to say from next year such and such insurance will be boycotted due to their actions
@anubizz3 Since Luigi broke contact with his family I think he is against their practices. He didn't benefit from their wealth either. I can't see your gotcha moment whatsoever.
I agree that there should be cameras in classrooms. I was a volunteer in schools for 8 years. One teacher forced 4 year olds to eat until they vomited on the table. (they could not go outside to play until they ate all the food) For two years, one teacher denied requests to use the bathroom. She said, “You’re FIVE! You can hold it!” Over and over kids wet their pants. Suddenly she began allowing children to go to the bathroom. I could go on.

So do I. The private ones are trying to pull the same nonsense here in Germany. That said, they don't get away with it legally. One time my insurance threatened not to cover my surgery; as soon as I threatened legal action, they paid up.
A fiery delivery from the authorities about Luigi's actions. If only they mustered the same fire for United Healthcare's victims, maybe people wouldn't be celebrating the death of a CEO.
The government is responsible. When they decided to get involved in healthcare and insurance, they ruined it. But no matter what no one deserves to be murdered.

Mitchell Epner, a former federal prosecutor who now practices privately, told Forbes he thinks the terrorism charge is “performative” and may make it harder to convict Mangione
I'm curious how they can play up the danger to residents when they themselves said from the beginning the residents / public were not in danger. Also, if people were so scared, how was he a folk hero? Seems interesting
ALSO- if the public was in such danger of terrorism WHY did they continue with the tree lighting the same day because it was a “targeted attack” and the public was not in danger
If this is considered terrorism then all those who have been charged with SA & murder of a woman should also be charged with terrorism. You don’t think we feel terror after a crime like that is committed in our town? Those poor CEOs can get used to it. Just like we have to.
I don't think this murder meets the elements required for the terrorism enhancer. Mangione literally exacted vengeance on ONE individual. In murdering Brian Thompson, Mangione was not intimidating or coercing a *civilian* population -- Corporations are *not* civilian populations. He also didn't appear to be murdering Thompson as a way of trying to influence/persuade/intimidate/coerce the government to change any particular policy. I think he's smart enough to know that killing a healthcare CEO wasn't going to suddenly cause the government to change the problems in our healthcare system. To me, it seems more like he was sending a strong message via symbolic retribution. But not all messages equate to terrorism.
@@spacemanspliff7983I mean you can label anything “political” under a certain microscope. The state adding those charges make possibilities to hold him indefinitely under the patriot act
@@spacemanspliff7983 That's actually exactly what I did before posting my original comment because I initially thought maybe this *was* an act of terrorism based on the *idea* of "terrorism" that I had in my own mind. It was only AFTER reviewing several definitions that I no longer believed Mangione's actions could equate to terrorism as defined by the penal code.
Health insurance or lack thereof has a direct impact on the population. 1000%. Everyone on either side of the issue is looking to the government for change in this very broken system as the industry becomes increasingly intolerable.
The government regulates insurance companies. Think the ACA and banning denials of coverage for preexisting conditions. Before that insurance companies could declare anything a preexisting condition and deny coverage. The patient protection part of the larger bill is something people forget about. Repubs want us to go back to the healthcare version of the law of the jungle where the companies had almost no constraints. That’s what repeal of the ACA would return us to.Even after what happened in NY, they haven’t changed their tune. People focus largely on the CEOs, but politicians make the laws and the unethical members of the Supreme Court uphold the bad ones that favor execs over average people. They need to pay a price at the ballot box. Generally people keep voting in those who support the corporations over their individual constituents.
Maybe his defense could be (besides diminished capacity) Luigi Mangione provided a public service for the population as he prevented many deaths Brain Thompson was about to commit with more insurance claim denials.
@ What?!! He provided a public service? Not for me!!! He killed a father of two in cold blood (allegedly) by his own admission. Brian Thompson isn’t on trial he’s dead and what he did or didn’t do personally, I’m sure you have no idea or proof. He worked for one of the largest health insurance companies (one out of 900 hundred in this country) and that’s all you really know for sure. Luigi didn’t know him nor was he insured by this company. He thinks the system is rotten to its core as most of us do but that doesn’t justify his actions. Luigi ruined a lot of lives including his own. You’re dreaming if you think he’s a savior. The American people need to make a stand against this corruption for sure but killing everyone or anyone we don’t agree with isn’t the solution. How long would you live if that was the law of the land?
It is an abomination that there isn't even an ounce of sympathy for the patients who have died as a result of denied claims for healthcare procedures by the UHC. Not one of these big shot beaucrates have expressed any sympathy or empathy for the pain and sorrows the families of the deceased patients had to endure, due to the actions of UHC! Where's the Justice for the deceased patients and their families ? What a shame profit over lives! Watch Sicko by Michael Moore! It seems that a CEO's life is valued over the many lives lost from the denials, this is horrific! The public has the right to be outraged! Even doctors have come forward expressing frustrations etc, etc. It's an outcry for reform and whatnot! It's a shame that this young man took this route to address his frustrations over the corruption of the healthcare industry. There are over 68,000 people that die yearly because of denied healthcare, and theyre stressing over one wealthy CEO! Do the research! Isn't it a form indirect or even direct action of terrorism to denied necessary healthcare procedures? My God, this is lack of compassion in the 1st degree! The healtcare industry should be held accountable for all those deaths!
It’s always been this way. Two different justice systems, one for the wealthy and one for the rest of us. We live under the illusion that we’re in a capitalist society but that’s a lie. It’s an oligarchic society where the only ones who matter are the wealthy.
I cannot believe how disbelieving & furious I am to hear this charged as an act of terrorism. Are you 🤬🤬 kidding me? Are they actually admitting the execs like this have such power in our country that this murder is on the level of a targeted attack on an elected person or government official? It just feels like a gross & ridiculous overreach for them to speak that charge with their whole chest. Ignoring the job of the victim & motives of the shooter, this is just a premeditated, targeted murder caught completely on film. It has become something so overblown & throwing "act of terrorism" is like adding gasoline instead of trying to put the fire out. They should be wanting to calm this whole situation down, go with the harshest, simplest charge & get a quick plea deal or prosecution done. Coverage of this has been so inescapable & it is just going to get worse if they want to call this kid a terrorist. They're scared of the online rhetoric that someone may be inspired by this act? Let's call it terrorism so that people who are so inclined look at one guy killing another being called an act of terrorism & go hold my beer.
you said ignoring the job of the victim and motive of the shooter but those 2 things are the exact reason why he did the targeted murderer and being considered as a terrorism act. i guess in your view you could argue DUI are just simple car accidents if you could ignore the driver is under influence of alcohol its no biggie right? lol
@jonathanchui Quite the opposite. I've seen DUIs & traffic incidents that should have been charged more seriously or at all, like the NYPD officers who drove through protesters with zero consequences. Mass & serial murders that could & should have been labeled acts of terrorism. But they weren't. If this were just a random person shoots a random CEO, it would not be terroristic. Because the crime was caught on camera & plastered worldwide across anything "news" related, tho, it has become something so much more than a murder because of the conversation around it, not the crime itself & the prosecution should want to calm the circus down & work to limit the attention this case gets so that the public's attention can go to something else. I said charge him with 1st degree, premeditated murder. I'm fine with the other 2nd degree charge. I say charge any criminal with the acts that they commit. I say that THIS, at its core, is not an act of terrorism. They're factoring all of this attention into an enhancement that is inflammatory in its connotations & thinking that THAT will stop someone who might copy this crime? If prosecutors want to normalize "act of terrorism" as a charge, go for it, but if it's still only going to be applied in select cases then they are going to dislocate things on the reach to make this fit when most people don't feel terror when they look into or hear about this case. I certainly wasn't his target, nor were 99% of Americans, but they want to call it terrorism because he had an agenda against the 1% & they don't think that's going to disenfranchise anyone else further? Just call it murder & it soon gets added to thousands of other cases with similar charges or call it terrorism & keep it in the newscycle until his trial & beyond. I'm saying they're doing the latter & shouldn't.
@@missmishka8379 On the flip side though... Perhaps by overreaching in this charge, they are screwing themselves. It may give jurors pause. They may not want to convict on a terrorism charge whereas if it were a standard murder charge, they might easily come to a consensus.
Hospitals are part of the problem too. Next time you are in the hospital ask for a Tylenol. Then ask for your detailed hospital bill. Insurance companies cannot pay $100fir a Tylenol. Big pharma, Hospitals over charging and insurance companies. It’s a war between the 3 that catches the patient in the middle of that war on profit margins. Big Pharma is the main culprit
Maybe it will help wake up Americans to take better care of their bodies rather than being a drain on society so that people with illnesses they can't prevent can get treatment.
I just don’t understand why it is so easy to have the ‘vigilante justice is bad’ conversation and so hard to acknowledge the thousands of deaths caused every year by the health industry. Two things can be true at the same time.

What if this was a well-planned hit by a paid professional to keep Mr. Thompson from turning state's evidence against the other two (all alleged), and Luigi is being framed? Whose mother would, when shown a picture of her son who has no criminal history, would say, "I can see him doing that." That's just nuts. What we're being told just doesn't add up. Either this is a gun grab psy-op for distraction and gun control or there's another explanation to the story. According to his friends, there is no indication he ever had a gun, showed an interest in guns, or ever practiced with one. Then he gets one and not only uses it with expertise, but fixes it when it jams? And, the CEO strolling along in the dark, on the streets of NY without security which he has access to. Doesn't add up. In addition, notice how law enforcement officer took time from his presser to give a lecture about guns which is a red flag for a psy-op. Then, it's just clown world that he was found with all the evidence on him, including the usual manifesto sounding like all the rest -- almost a week later by "Sally in fries" at McDonalds. If it is a psy-op, I bet they didn't expect the public to turn on them about health insurance fraud instead of calling for gun control. We'll see what is presented in court to help determine if this is what happened the way they have told the public. I'm happy he has a good lawyer, because that will increase the chances of getting some real answers. If it's not staged, it sure looks staged.
I am not certain about the last paragraph as I thought it was still TBD. But Vanguard & WHO explains a lot about the direction of UHC's operation directives..imo🤔
This is a case of conflicting morality. Is vigilantism right? No. But also karma. Consider that murders and assault happen in the prison system. That's not right either. However, when the target is a pedo, no one seems to bat an eye, including the government. Not sure how it's hard to understand why someone who took the money of vulnerable people then left them to die would be so unliked.
I disagree that this is vigilante justice. If there is no system to hold those culpable then any justice is just justice. There is no system to hold them accountable so he didn't circumvent anything.
If he'd killed a poor person, we wouldn't even know about it. If they can charge him for terrorism, we should be able to charge UHC, too. Must be nice to be rich.
This is 100% about charging everyone else with terrorism for saying comments on the phone with health care operators about this case. They really want to ruin that woman's life for being mad after a denial. She referenced this case and they are charging her with terrorism. This terrorism charge is going to change free speech in our country if he is convicted on it.
Luigi is rich. Don't forget that. This is not some poor guy wronged by UHC. He had full coverage health insurance but not by UHC. Now he has a top notch attorney. That people like us couldn't afford. Be different if this was someone who was directly affect by UHC, buy he is not.
There are five crucial components of terrorism, an involvement of an act of violence, an audience, the creation of a mood of fear, innocent victims, and political goals or motives. The murderer in this case has met all the components of a terrorist act. He doesn’t agree with the ideology of the government or the healthcare insurance industry. He’s trying to bring about change through violence.
His manifesto makes clear the action. He even didn't have an account with the business, so it was wholly to use violence to intimidate the corporation's decisions and public political message; i.e., terrorism. Let this be a notice to you or anyone else thinking you can blithely report you support such activity. The Patriot Act is still currently the law of the land and ya'll seem absolutely OBLIVIOUS to the implications.
QUESTION: if you are allowed to reject any potential juror who is strongly antagonistic towards health insurance corporates, how do you get past that being half or more of the potential jury pool. Surely it's stacking the jury in a way that defeats 'of your peers'.
You only have to look at the UA-cam comments to see there are unfortunately plenty of people who are shocked at those of us who have little to no empathy for that CEO that got killed.
It really wont matter, they will continue to retry him, as even if they get a juror or 2, he will sit in Rikers Island as a pretty boy for the next 10 years before beginning his life sentence. They will never get an entire jury, so enjoy Rikers.
What is so upsetting to me as an elementary teacher is how the murder of a CEO gets all this attention placed on how terrible this was but we have almost become numb to the news that another student and teacher lost their lives. No calls for gun reform, no DA's or police talking about how this needs to be addressed immediately.
That young lady was underage so there's no way she had a gun legally, so what do you think gun reform is going to do? What about talking about the connection with most of these school shooters being on prescription drugs that cause violence? (Don't know if she was but most of them are), or the fact that these schools can't get a handle on the bullying problem even though it's been going on for decades. @@AwakeNotWoke5139 why should every school in america be filled with police?!? Thats what we have come to?? Just the cost of that would bankrupt most districts. It could be argued that his actions were designed to instill terror in a subset of the population, ( specifically, healthcare CEOs) We don't have to agree with law in order to acknowledge it exists.
Luigi's alleged "manifesto" says he respects government authorities like the FBI. @@tropistan7735 Why, because he bought and paid for his insurance policy. A hospital cannot deny anyone healthcare policy or not and given the same quality of care. I don't think it's fair that taxpayers should have to pay for the healthcare for people that choose not to work or don't take the initiative to seek or file for the services already available. if it's because of disability, they should be receiving Social Security(even though they technically don't meet the point requirement to receive it) and Medicaid. There are a lot of nonprofit organizations that will assist in getting the care people need if they ask.
I agree the act itself is indefensible. But is creating an AI that is deliberately denying legitimate insurance claims im order for those patients to die off not also murder? The reason I say its deliberate is becaude ever since that AI has began to be used, 90% of its denials have been for legitimate claims. Doctors prescribing life saving medication. If it was meant to deny claims that were fraudulent or wasteful as claimed then that 90% would have improved by now and it has not.
Many of the things that I have questions. The first is how a person that enacted an AI program which increased the denial rate by 33%, which means more civilians die every day. How are the CEOs of these companies allowed to commit murder just because they do not see the person‘s face That they are denying a life saving device such as medical care.

On terrorism: It could be argued that lobbyism (which seeks to influence policy) that results in harm to the public, is terrorism. Obviously it requires shifting two terms of the equation: 'Harming the public' to 'influence policy' becomes 'influencing policy' to 'harm the public'. 2 x 3 = 3 x 2
Healthcare needs a huge overhaul but nothing justifies taking the life of another person - your brother, father, friend, husband etc. Luigi does need help with mental health. There also needs to be compassion for the Mangione family since they probably have lost a family member for life too. There’s a better way to make change!

Go watch their congressional hearing if you’d like to 🤮. They made over $2 billion in profit. They are in the top 11 largest company IN THE WORLD. The own all the healthcare companies so they honestly do nothing more than profit of our sickness. They make money off our prescriptions.
@fordfrances1005 do you genuinely believe that DAs filing murder charges against Healthcare companies would be successful? Do you understand how a court case works? Or are you a petulant crybaby who just likes whining?
The way they talk about the loss of life being so tragic but its totally fine when our health insurance acts like a death panel and kills us every single day.
The message this press conference sends is that some lives are 'worth' more than others. If a CEO oversees a policy that deems your life worthless then that's just tough isn't it? If a guy takes out that CEO somehow that makes him a terrorist even though the CEO has given the green light to countless denials of care leading to death. Who is really the bigger threat here to the population at large? Who is the real terrorist here?
This is infuriating. Everyone in that press conference is disgusting. If it were a middle class person killed they would be doing little to nothing. And the way they pretend they “can’t wrap their heads”around the reaction. As if they’ve never heard of the people who have died as a direct result of insurance company corrupt practices. This is a perfect example of why people hate cops. And it’s not about Luigi having money. People are supporting him. They’re showing support.
They obviously don’t know about the French Revolution. As Elizabeth Warren said, you can only push ppl so far. We need to rise up or we’ll never improve our own conditions cause these scum aren’t going to change on their own
Edit: (Unclear for some) The amount of people I see in these comments hurt, lost family members and struggling with healthcare is heartbreaking. 💔 Health is everything, and there can't be good health without good mental health.
You're not slick, but you are slimy w the 2-faced twist of pretending to be on the right stanze when you have the ir immature stanze. Do you even know which side that is?
UHC is ranked 8th on the 2024 Fortune Global 500. UnitedHealth Group had a market capitalization of $474.3 billion as of July 15, 2024. How about using some of these billions to pay denied claims??? GREED, GREED, GREED!
The NYPD did an amazing job following up on all the leads…to find the murderer …but would they have done the same for someone who wasn’t a top, rich , executive?
I'm VERY interested in how much the court is allowed to look at potential jury members' social media. I'd love to see a full in depth video just about that. Because it's easy to get a picture of who someone is from their online history, and that seems like a critical issue of justice. Because if they're allowed to do that, how is it still a "jury of your peers"?
21:30 We did not see a terror reaction. In fact, this might be the first accused murder where I've seen almost 100% of the population not concerned or fearful in anyway that an accused murderer was free on the streets. Nobody was terrified except other criminals.
„Gunned down in cold blood. he had kids and a Family.“ Well, guess what Ben….so had many people who got declined by their insurance. How is one „cold blooded murder“, but the rest is not??
While it wasn't United Healthcare that kept denying my hospital stay it was another big insurance company. I fought for a year to get the bill paid. I can see why other people want to support him. While I don't agree how he handled it. Maybe this had to happen for the other insurance company to start treating their people they do insure better.
Very interesting video tonight! You present different ways to critically analyze how to determine approaches for defense and prosecution. You inspire us to be open-minded! Always learn from your channel!
It's hardly surprising, the attitude during BLM riots was that it was justified and that was in support of a known criminal who had just committed a crime. This case is about crime in advocating for a cause. Everyone knows the US health care system is complete rubbish unfit for purpose yet over the decades little has been done and insurance has become all about profit with seemingly little recourse for patients. Actions like raising money for defence and the ongoing commentary keep the issue alive, same as the fighting of extradition helps. The average person gets no say on the health system, the big vested interests lobbying movements create the miserable outcomes we have today.
Everyone who purchased a health insurance policy gets the exact same policy People who are too naive to inquire about their policy are not able to claim they were wronged
The same way the Al-Qaeda/Isis/Al -Nusra leader is suddenly a "freedom fighter" and no longer a terrorist according to the US government.and they are considering removing him from the list. I guess instead they'll add American citizens like Luigi and Brianna Boston. That's how. Man how broken can system get?
Peter as someone who lives not far from Oxford Michigan, where the charge of terrorism against a 15 yr old defendant ended in a conviction, I think we are seeing prosecutors taking note.
Also in Florida I was part of the initial jury pool charging a defendant with the t word for throwing a bean bag at a cop, the chief of police, in at Petersburg. The other t word charge was a beer bottle investigators claim had lighter fluid on it. Throwing that t word around pretty freely anymore …
@@littlegreen5845throwing it around freely except for mass shooters, or white supremacist militia. Mom of 3 stressed to the max about health insurance runaround, though? Oh yeah, absolutely a t- threat 🙄
I feel terrorized if I need to pay 6k to call an ambulance. I’ve drilled into my kids heads to call an Uber or beg a stranger, unless you will seriously bleed out or you can see a bone.
Yep. That creates a good chance the jury will hang. They all have to agree on the exact charge. The more they add the harder it will be to convict him. I hope the lawyers drain him of his entire inheritance.
I’m thinking the defense will be a psychological break. The DA’s up there trying to criminalize the supporters is not a good look. This guy acted alone. They should focus on him if they want a conviction. Quit telling everyone else how they should feel. That backfired in Fulton Co.
I am so glad I am not American. My country has free universal healthcare. It's so shocking to me that a major first world country still does not have free healthcare for all its citizens. Free healthcare should be a right for all Americans and not just a privilege for those Americans who have money and can afford to pay for it.
Part of the reason is the United States is a highly capitalistic country with extreme military needs and responsibilities. Free health care is unaffordable there, and, in such a market-driven atmosphere, the quality of care would become substandard.
@SilkyShish yeah I've heard about free universal healthcare... Free, but how long the wait? A lump, in UK, my friend said, had to a GP appt. Then referred to consultant surgeon, 6 mo before her appt, need imaging results 3mo later back to consultant Surg. Well we can take lump out, But in last year since saw GP, it's metastatic. Well free, what do you expect long lines, waits.
@@lynnhauenstein4136 It depends on the health issue. When my doctor found a lump in my breast I saw a specialist within 2 weeks. Free does not necessarily mean the wait time is long. If I have a cold, I get treatment right away and if medication is needed its immediate and covered. Countries with universal healthcare are much better off than countries like the US who don't have it. In the US they can't even see a doctor for a common cold without it costing alot of money. American children don't have access to basic dental care without it costing alot. And if I want to rush the wait time when there is one, to pay privately costs me way less out of pocket because I don't have to pay for my healthcare in general. But, Americans have to pay for it all.
Why is it fair to weed out people who might be sympathetic at all to the defendant? The point is to get a balanced jury that can look at the big picture and examine the evidence fairly. It’s not fair to weed out every socialist or anti-capitalist or person who’s had an issue with a health insurance company. He deserves to have a jury of his peers, not a jury of only people who are already prepped to convict him.
It was activism not terrorism. The terrorism charge is being used to protect the status quo, but if it needs changing due to corruption being rampant, then that charge is just part of the corruption.

It’s upsetting to me that LE and DA are saying the can’t understand or can’t believe the public’s response to the crime. Like, please be honest, you might not agree with it but to say you don’t understand it at all, and act like we’re monsters, is insulting.
I just don’t understand why it is so easy to have the ‘vigilante justice is bad’ conversation but so hard to acknowledge the thousands of deaths caused by our healthcare system every year. Two things can be true at the same time.
Everyone already knows our healthcare system is crooked. It's not everyday a rich young man kills the ceo of a insurance company.

Because the same people praising this guy also praise Martin Shkreli who jacked up drug prices to drive profits.

👏

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 me too!
Insurance isn't government or the population.
To our geedy elites it is

That's is 2 separate problem, can Terrorist do the same thing to because your country killing or supporting millions of innocent people?

I'm saying they're doing the latter & shouldn't.
when you become a prosecutor in a major city, your opinion will mean something.
@@missmishka8379 On the flip side though... Perhaps by overreaching in this charge, they are screwing themselves. It may give jurors pause. They may not want to convict on a terrorism charge whereas if it were a standard murder charge, they might easily come to a consensus.
you don't understand the laws involved in this
This shines a spotlight on all health insurance companies as a whole.
Not really, but ok😂
It’s big pharma! That’s where the pure evil profit making begins and health insurance companies have to fight them or they would go broke
I have never been denied coverage for my costly medical care I have received but I don’t expect them to pay $100 for 1 Tylenol.
Because health insurance is a voluntary system for payment of a portion of medical bills. It is nor health care. Insurance companies cause deaths line is just ignorant.

Wow😠😠
Big Pharma is who is to blame.
Can you add Luigi family age care to?
Must be nice to be rich.
it is. some people are more important than others.
wow what logic
This is 100% about charging everyone else with terrorism for saying comments on the phone with health care operators about this case. They really want to ruin that woman's life for being mad after a denial. She referenced this case and they are charging her with terrorism.
This terrorism charge is going to change free speech in our country if he is convicted on it.
Luigi is rich. Don't forget that. This is not some poor guy wronged by UHC. He had full coverage health insurance but not by UHC. Now he has a top notch attorney. That people like us couldn't afford. Be different if this was someone who was directly affect by UHC, buy he is not.
Please look up the definition of terrorism.
I disagree with indicting of terrorism. The victim was a CEO of a for-profit business.
ProTip: almost every business is for-profit.
He’s trying to bring about change through violence.
the CEO was a terrorist
Exactly.
Yes, bring your brilliant Dad on!!! Always love hearing his thoughts!

What is so upsetting to me as an elementary teacher is how the murder of a CEO gets all this attention placed on how terrible this was but we have almost become numb to the news that another student and teacher lost their lives. No calls for gun reform, no DA's or police talking about how this needs to be addressed immediately.
This murder was caught on video. Do you remember Columbine High School
Gun reform isnt the answer
That young lady was underage so there's no way she had a gun legally, so what do you think gun reform is going to do? What about talking about the connection with most of these school shooters being on prescription drugs that cause violence? (Don't know if she was but most of them are), or the fact that these schools can't get a handle on the bullying problem even though it's been going on for decades. I lost faith that my kids are being taught by people with any intelligence when they can't solve a problem after decades. And why in the hell doesn't every school in America have metal detectors and police presence while we try to solve these more difficult problems.
@@AwakeNotWoke5139 why should every school in america be filled with police?!? Thats what we have come to?? Just the cost of that would bankrupt most districts. No he understands the facts ! That no one has the right to do what Luigi did he is a terrorist !
@@tropistan7735 Why, because he bought and paid for his insurance policy. A hospital cannot deny anyone healthcare policy or not and given the same quality of care.

@TizzieL4498 but for what purpose? That's the crux. It wasn't a personal vendetta, but an action representing his malice toward healthcare insurance compnies, and corp America in general. They are the population in the charge. Corporate executives, Healthcare insurance corps....executives especially. By definition, population can be a subset of the entire population. Another example could be the population of people with arthritis, or any age range, or bike riders. It's infinite really. There’s no way highly profitable healthcare company lobbyists who are well connected with national and local government officials could have influenced the terrorism charges brought before the grand jury, right? @Pantoufle1010 healthcare CEOs & healthcare agencies aren't a unit of govt. This whole case boils my blood. And if it isn’t the very definition of classism, I don’t know what is.
On terrorism:
It could be argued that lobbyism (which seeks to influence policy) that results in harm to the public, is terrorism.
I am so glad I am not American. My country has free universal healthcare. It's so shocking to me that a major first world country still does not have free healthcare for all its citizens. Free healthcare should be a right for all Americans and not just a privilege for those Americans who have money and can afford to pay for it.
We Americans agree whole heartedly!
Part of the reason is the United States is a highly capitalistic country with extreme military needs and responsibilities. Free health care is unaffordable there, and, in such a market-driven atmosphere, the quality of care would become substandard.
