Kaya is a great sport for standing at the bottom of that waterside decline during the second half of the video so that James and Ian can look tall for a few minutes
It's like they already did the movie armorers' job of adding random greeblies to make their weapon look more sci-fi. It looks like it was ripped straight off the set of The Fifth Element or something similar.
The thing that hella bugs me is the red dot is attached to the frame. So you can't pull back the slide from the back. You ALWAYS have to pull it from the front

The gungnir bull pup is the most interesting design in this video. While I doubt any military will take it up as a main survive rifle he might be able to get a contract for a survival rifle! While it might be worse than a purpose built rifle being able to possibly use enemy ammunition in a bail out scenario would definitely be useful! It would probably do pretty good on the us civilian market as well.
On the next CF contest is the JJ Reeves load out. Sig P365 XL with Holosun red dot, fannypack, and a gift card to where he buys all his shorts, GapKids.
Actually surprised to see the Gugnir make it on this list. I guess it would become a forgotten weapon but it's still an ingenious design which I hope succeeds in some form.
It looked to me like Ian felt the exact same, really appreciated the engineering of it all but... He's also a realist, having reviewed so many projects like this one and know exactly what type of fate is most likely for it. We're all kind of hoping it's an outlier thou!
Brilliant engineering doesn't necessarily mean you've got a good product. It's cool and clearly took talent to design and build, but it doesn't really meet a need in a realistic way.
Miracles happen occasionally. Never count a bad gun out! It's just waiting for the right incompetent official or excessively rich hunting club to fly free like a peacock.
In fairness to the guy marketing to the German shooter market with that bullpup- from what I understand of German gun laws, they’re limited in number of long guns they can own, so conversion firearms that can shoot multiple ammo types are a good idea if not very common.
Tanfoglio had its heyday back in the 80's and early 90s. Their TA-90's (pre-88 & series 88) were bombproof and you couldn't beat the price. But then they went all primadonna.
Watching you walk the streets I walked or stumbled down in the 1980s when in the Army made me happy. Would love to go back. Agree with your choices and reasons.
The Elysium pistol's genesis seems a lot like "I've been playing Shadowrun for years, and I wanted to buy my first real gun and none of them matched, so I made my own that did."
So i will start this by saying that I am not part of that subreddit lol. But...I do think that 32acp has a place in a modern context and i think it should be replacing 380, with modern bullet design you can get 32 to similar performance to 380. You can get a gun that is a little smaller, a little lighter, and isn't as snappy as a 380 with 1 or 2 extra rounds. I unironically have a keltec p32 that i use as an incase of car jacker gun because i can't find a convenient way to carry iwb and draw effectively while sitting in the car with a seat belt on. Compared to LCPs I've shot which are a similar size the p32 isn't really snappy at all while the lcp is quite snappy. Now the main reason i went with the 32 in the first place was because i already had an old Yugoslavian 32 in my collection so i already kept 32acp around and i didn't really want to add 380 to my cartridge count since i already had guns chamber for over a dozen different cartridges so i was like why not just use 32 after i found out about the p32. Then i did more research into 32 defensive ammo, for the xtreme defender round and ended up concluding that 32 is a pretty underrated round with a lot of potential. So I'm hoping to see a resurgence of 32acp
The Vigrand feels like the one of these that has the biggest chance of not becoming a forgotten weapon but also it’s still a big gamble. There are definitely lots of people who are willing to buy pistols approaching the $3000 mark if they are actually good. But it really is just going to come down to the luck of the market and business management whether they’ll be the next Staccato or just another really neat concept that failed to take off. Also that P365 clone could maybe be a financial success but even if it is it could still be forgotten in the same way many budget guns of the past are.

Many European countries also have more restrictions on the ownership of semi-autos than manually-operated guns, and also many European countries won't allow semi-autos to be used for hunting. So yes, I think it stands a chance.
The Elysium pistol is cool looking. I would expect to see it in a video game or as the villain's gun of choice in a movie set in the near-ish future though.
All that needs to happen for the Elysium to blow up in that way that Ian said it shouldn't is for it to be featured in a big budget action movie, especially if it it's a vehicle for a celebrity action star.
