Leopards are excellent climbers. When I went on safari in South Africa, the warden warned us to keep our eyes on the trees when we approached thickets.
They should start Showing more than only telling. How will collision work? How will exhibits borders work if we can use water etc as natural barriers? How will animals interact with buildings? Does an animal have a radar with regards to different terrain needs if the exhibit is not clearly fenced? We just need a demo/ real gameplay video. They are creating hype without any proof and I am really hoping they can deliver. Hope beta starts soon
Cheetahs don’t actually climb however leopards and Jaguars do they can lock their wrists which gives them an advantage unlike Lions for example Lions can’t climb a tall tree they are to bulky and as they can’t lock their wrists means they can’t lift their bulk into a tree (younger adolescents can more than Adults as they are lighter) so a leopard or jaguar can climb a tall tree to escape from lions
I'm hoping that's possible.. I like to make safari type parks, with the guest enclosed the animals free to breed, graze and eat each other... I have my doubts if this will support that, but will be very happy if it does.
@@SamuelDurkin yeah same here man, just like in the wild, like an animal survival! I'm going to do something like this on my channel in the next few weeks just for a bit of fun 👍🏻
i don't know much about Video Games but that picture of the lionesses in the tree? Very good. Look at her tummy hanging down! Lucky lady must have caught something big!
I've always found monkeys with funny faces in chimpanzees. I admit that they are well made like all the other animals in the game. Then the animation of climbing, that is quite obvious that all the primates have it, both small, medium and large size. But anyway, besides the animals, at least I'm glad that in the preview demo they showed some buildings, kiosks, decorations, scenery elements, attractions like the jeep for the safari and who knows if there will be other similar or other kind of attractions that however, they will remain inherent to the zoo theme. It is a game that still has much to say and to show.
I wonder if you will be able to blend climbing frames into custom scenery so you could make like, a monkey temple, with pillars and such to climb and leap between.
Did you mean jaguar when you said that cheetahs like to climb? I thought cheetahs couldn't climb to well because their claws don't retract. Just wondering :)
Yup they definitely climb though some more than others. With the cheetahs I worked with some would climb a ton and I would always find them in a tree while others preferred the ground.
Yeah the limitation on climbing structures is almost certainly due to how much performance will be spent on pathfinding, especially since it can't be precomputed.
Maybe the climbability will be selectable, i.e. if you don't want them to be climbed because you want it as a wall, but elsewhere you do want it to be climbable as a kind of ramp. Check the box to choose.
Its is a littlebit sad to see all the guests just walk at the same pace without stopping and looking at the chimps from where they pass over the water.
@Gappie Al Kebabi I havent checked Planco pricing honestly but even back in the day, ZT2's expansions were pricey! Like 20 or 30 bucks each (which at the time was a lot for a game obviously)
Yes but if you look at how many animals you get in other games without any dlc you can say 50 big animals and 15 or 20 small ones is already pretty much, also we will sure enough get some dlc that include more animals!
I wonder if the animals get bored if they'll play with their poop like they do in real zoos. Also, just noticed that you pronounce "Says" differently than I've ever heard, is that a British thing?

Liam Evans That’s cool sooo excited 😜
I've been looking for something like this for years
Mountain goats, bighorn sheep, etc. if they’re in the game would be awesome to see climbing up rocks and such!
Well, just remember the first "blueprint" limit of 1000 pieces. It has been improved to 4000 rather quickly. So I´m not worried too much ;-)

I can't wait to get my hands on this game and have a play with the climbing mechanics. I'd like to see ocelots in the game
@@Karin029_ good choice very pretty cats. Would just be nice to see something different to the typical big cats
I’m sooo excited and all these videos just make me more hype also I’m not too worried about the limitation thing

Anyone else just going to throw a load of animals into one area and see who eats who first?
GlitchGearGaming á la zoo tycoon style? hell yeah!

If i can get my hands on this game, i will definietly do that!!😄
I'm gonna have a human habitat with animals as the guests
Zeime me to

LemonTeabags yeah that picture is cool also I already pre ordered the game and I got the deluxe so I get beta planet zoo hype!!!!!!

I hope we get goats (who can climb trees), pigs, and cows so we can do a 'Farm at the Zoo' exhibit and/or a petting zoo!
I think my brain just wanted to read whatever it wanted because I swear this title said "Climbing deep into genetics mechanics" LOL

If this game would let me see a big cat saunter out on a large branch and lay down I would buy it for that alone.

Cheetahs can climb, but yeah Jaquars are another good example of climbings cats :)

@@TheCJFrench Cool
Cheetahs do the same as Leopards. They climb with their prey to get out of reach from lions and hyenas, etc
That gulpee box the shimpansee is playing with.
were do I have to place my feedplatforms? mij keepers cant get to them (sorry for my bad English I am Dutch)
Haha! The ad before the video was coincidentally for Planet Zoo! 😂
Happened to me to

Where do you read the development journals?
Official Forums :)
50 species is not a lot most great zoos have more than 500 species
Compared to other zoo games though it's a lot. And we can basically expect DLC with more animals and such

Are all trees going to be climbable or are they also like objects, only specific ones will?
We don't know

Just saying so I can’t make the zoo of my dreams
?
Annoying how it looks like the guests look like they're not even looking at the animals.
