As someone who regularly plays the portal series and is one of my top games… what the hell just happened?!?! I audibly gasped multiple times at how easy it was for you to skip long parts-
i get invincibility on Wakeup level by falling down the incinerator earlier than intended, which persists to the end of the game. The elevator thing is me waiting for a specific dialogue line to get as quick of a fadeout as possible.
If you mean: "why does the speedrun starts at 5 minutes?" The opening cutscenes of chell waking up and meeting wheatley counts as time for the speedrun but have little to no gameplay So most people choose to fast-forward that part because until you enter the first test chamber there is no way to save time in the run for those first 5 minutes
they just have stormtrooper aim. (real answer: i do a trick at the end of wakeup that allows me to finish the cutscene earlier than intended by falling down the incinerator, and because of that the game doesnt get rid of the invincibility that it gives me)
