Almost bought this yesterday, glad I watched this review. One thing I can’t stand are figures that disintegrate as you play with them, always been a huge problem with mafex sadly. Nice review, thanks!
Darkman Or at least close to it. I can overlook a little paint rub but I like to play with my figures so trying to pose him and having his arms coming off all the time is going to be frustrating beyond belief
Steve Sanders it sucks because I was so looking forward to him and Cyclops. Especially since this figure was so delayed you’d think those guys would have things good to go. Disappointing
@@steve9021oh They're actually slightly cheaper in Asia than Mezco (about 10% cheaper), the import cost and profit had raised its cost in the west. Similar example would be buying Marvel Legends in Japan where they cost like $30~$40.
Nice thing with Mafex is they seem really good about making enough for demand and being generous on second runs and rereleases. Dont let scalpers get ya on Cyclops but I think hes still easily available

Cancelled my preorder personally. Claws are too long, Cowl is too big, blue stripes, too tall when compared to Mafex Spidey, Legs are too thin. Too many issues for the higher price point. That said it looks cool and happy for those that want it. I love the unmasked face sculpt personally.
The Logan head looks great, and in general, I prefer these heads over the ML ones which have really pressed ears for some reason, but the super long claws kind of kill the figure for me. His claws should be about as long as his forearms because that’s where they are whenever he doesn’t have them out.
Mafex are the best at capturing the comic looks, this one looks exactly like a Jim Lee Wolverine, the Spider-man and Venom look like Mark Bagley's art. Future Hush Batman and Superman figures also look like Lee. The DKR look like non sketchy versions of Millers art.
@@ToyjaBoy That's why this Wolvie should come with an extra neck for when his mask is down. The thing rests completely under his face, he shouldn't have a yellow neck when his mask isn't on.
Try another toy line or stick to revoltech. You don't want to get disappointed for the second time around not finding the perfect wolverine for your Marvel vs Capcom display.
@@GreatHavok I wasn't disappointed with the revoltech Wolverine in the 1st place. As far as Marvel is concerned, I collect Legends, Mezco, Figuarts, Mafex & Revoltech. Sticking to one is a not.
Hopefully they make a comic paint app version to go with the spidey that's coming out. Those paint apps make the mafex figures different from the rest.
Do customizers ever make custom handsculpts?? I was hoping to get a hand to hold a samurai sword. Surprised they didn’t include that. Unless they’re planning that for the brown suit. Also I’m so so so happy with their choice of blue. I was super concerned that it was going to turn out more grey like Spider-Man’s blues.
This was my first high end figure. Got it yesterday after trading in a bunch of old neca figures I had. I love it so much. Everything about it to me is perfect. But maybe as I get more I’ll notice some of the more specific “problems” these figures have.
Ernie P local comic shop. I would ask around at a few places before doing so. One place offered me 5-7$ per figure and the next offered me 15$ each with an extra 20$ if I took store credit
Damn, I wanted this figure but I'm getting tired of mafex qc issues. The deadpool legs were to stiff and the iron spider legs broke by just trying to pose em.
KingRanger I actually received this figure in the mail yesterday and the arms did pop off a couple of times while I was posing it. But I’d honestly rather have something pop off than break off.

What a shame... Classic case of "coulda, woulda, shoulda..." I had this guy pre-ordered, had second thoughts and canceled it, was worried I was gonna miss out on great figure, now I feel much better! You were not manhandling that thing and he was coming apart like Magneto was in the background pulling on his bones! That's ridiculous for any figure, let alone one that cost that much. It's a really great looking figure, but those joint/engineering issues are unforgivable. Great review, really informed my purchase (or non purchase in this case!)

Yours is one of the better one's I've seen but lots of people are having QC Issues and when your fig is near the £100 mark and it's a gamble whether or not your going to have any its a big fat PASS.
I agree...kinda. The problem is the price point. The price doesn't justify the flaws. However, people are acting as if they wouldn't drop ML prices on it, that's where they are going too far. Especially when we've gotten more misses from Hasbro than hits.
Very nice collection. I plan on buying my first premium action figure soon, and it's going to have to be Batman (my first and favorite childhood superhero growing up to present day).

Awesome review!! Would you recommend putting nail polish on the arm peg for a tighter fit? I’m not sure that it will bother me that much honestly- my mafex comic spidey’s leg falls off constantly and it’s not a big deal for me. As long as the joints aren’t breaking 😅 also, is it a hairdryer that you use to loosen joints?
I just don't understand why everyone has such a hang up with the arms falling off. It's not like they're breaking. They just fall off, put them back on. I honestly don't see what the big issue is. I'd rather have it be loose then tight personally. Out of all the Wolverines that I have seen. This is by a wide, margin the best one. It just seems like such a minor issue for so many people to automatically pass up on such a great figure. I love mine.

I dont see it as a huge problem unless you plan on playing with it instead of just posing him. And if you plan on playing with him you have more problems then QC issues.

I love it but Mafex needs to stick to a scale - Spider-man (although passable) and Venom were a bit short, Black Panther was short , DeadPool was grail. This looks to be grail too. but you know Carnage will be short - Will Cyclops be on par?
Hope they do a weapon X/shirtless Logan in the future. My only criticism outside the claws looking a little ridiculous is I wish his thighs were thicker. It's a small nitpick but just the size difference between his thighs and biceps is distracting to me. I think the claws wouldn't be as noticable if they were a little bigger and spread out ala MvC looks. It's them being uniformly thin all the way and evenly spaced. It's a little too crisp and repetitious

Medicom went really cheap with the accesories this time. They didn't even include an extra neck for the unmasked head for some reason.

Great review man! Mafex is technically a better figure. But for the price, I'm going with ML all the way.
Mafex should make a Captain America figure with the classic costume.
When a part is loose like that in a figure i only add a small piece of paper to it that way the joint holds on to it.
Aside from the minor QC issues and height. This for me is the definitive 6in Wolverine action figure.

For a $95 figure, the arms coming off like with ease should not be acceptable at all. Mafex really needs to fix this major QC issue

Nice review, but Adam Kubert/Joe Quesada didn’t draw the ears on the mask that long. Nor does the unmasked head look like anything they’ve drawn.
Yeah the ckaest are def too long. Wondering how easy would be to replace them. Would look great with the ones from can of beams.

Every review I've seen (3 or 4 of them) points out the arm issue, must be an engineering flaw with all of them....ouch!

He's had numerous depictions in the comics with blue metallic stripes. Incidentally, the dark parts of his mask should be dark metallic blue too.

Awesome Wolverine but at $95 USD....ugh......Cyclops still on pre-order for Jan 2020 release but again...the $95.....convert to Canadian = $125-130 =(
