Maravilloso trabajo el que realizan ustedes. El cambio es sencillamente abrumador. Una entrada completamente despejada para que Peggy pueda desplazarse. Saludos desde Valdivia al sur de Chile 🇨🇱
As a disabled 81 year old, I can understand how it’s impossible to keep up with everything that needs doing. One problem that we, the elderly, face is isolation and a lack of socialization. Your little talks with her are just as important to her as the cleanup of her yard. Keep up the great work!!! 🇨🇦
look at a lot of your local community groups / churches etc there is normally something happening. Of course you can still be isolated in a crowd of 20 if they dont share your interests , or values. Some will do telephone or email etc contact
When I was younger we had a next door neighbour who was elderly and he was deaf and had severe arthritis in his hands and I used to love going next door to visit him and sit with him and have a chat, especially after his wife passed away. He would show me their wedding photos and photos of his children and grandchildren. Sometimes he would bang on the wall in his living room between the two semis and my little sister and my mum would call for me to go over to his house and it was usually to get him something from the shops or to open a tin of tuna. I would also go knocking on the doors of four other elderly neighbours on our block and stand at their front doors chatting with them for a good hour or two. Don’t ask me why, but I loved speaking to all of the retired people who lived close by. This was when I was between the ages of 8 through to 18. Life was better back then. Nowadays everyone spends their time in isolation on their computers and phones. My nephews hang out with their friends playing computer games together remotely, so they’re all in their own homes speaking to each other through their headphones. Their parents have banned them from being in their computers between certain hours of the day or they’d never see their own kids!😂 If you’re good with technology, a good way to combat isolation is to FaceTime or video chat through WhatsApp with somebody. I did that during Covid isolation and had breakfast and dinner with friends and family every day.
I am also happy when Friday come around and I can see the progress you have made and the changes you are making. Marvellous that you affect peoples lives in such a good way. Well done to dad and Nick too.
This it what criminals on community service should be doing helping out the older members of the community amazing work gents bet your families are so proud of you
Im not sure that the "Community Service" program still operates today, which is a shame (I may be wrong, and would like to be corrected if so). You are absolutely right that this should be a Community Service project. Years ago I was subject to a Community Service penalty, which I actually enjoyed participating in, doing jobs such as these, or working for local churches and charities. It gave me fresh focus and I continued to help others in need even after I has completed my Community Service Order. One thing I do remember is that the offender had "To Agree to perform unpaid labour", I suspect that many would no longer agree in todays world, or maybe it could be perceived as "Modern day slavery", but it does make one wonder.
@@louisebb4183 A "little bit every week" can already be a lot for someone with health or mobility issues, then it only takes one holiday or a fortnight in bed or hospital due to an illness or something to get behind, then suddenly it's unmanageable. Not to mention there's the inside of the house to take care of too, and I imagine that takes precedence. People not showing understanding about how this can happen is exactly the reason why someone might feel shame about it and refuse to ask for help.
It is so so awesome you brought the children over to say hello to Peggy! How sweet, my heart melted at the sight. I'm sure it was special for her too. Hope you have continued blessings as you bless others with your time and hard work. 🙏
They visit Peggy every morning and afternoon on the walk to/from school. Peggy just lights up when she sees them, when you step back and realise the impact small acts have.. it’s incredible! Thank you for the kind words and watching!
@@FlawlessCleaningServices You are teaching your sons kindness to the elderly, and to neighbors in general. It all starts with a smile and a hello, and grows from there. Thank you for training your sons in caring for others. It is a precious gift, and will guide their outlook in life.
I bet Peggy feels like she can breathe now. All that vegetation was closing in on her. She can see daylight through her windows now. God bless you for helping her out and making the world a better place!!! 🥰
It can also be a bit of a shock, when you're used to being isolated behind the greenery, to suddenly have open spaces and pruned hedges. I think there's an adjustment period which is maybe why some of the recipients don't seem exuberant about it at first... they're still processing the change.
Thank you Ben And the rest of the gang .As an 84 year oldI I know what it’s like .when you can’t do the things you use to do . We try our best but everyone needs help sometimes . Love to you and your lovely family ,looking forward to to the next episode 🥰🥰🥰

You can do it Annie, sometimes looking at the list looks daunting but just start with one thing on the list and the rest will follow. Have a cracking weekend
The trick I’ve learned is to write a list on one sheet of paper and then get another sheet and only write the first two items on it. That’s usually an achievable goal to start with. When they’re done, if I’ve got enough time I can add another one. If not that’s two marked off without feeling overwhelmed by a long list. Rinse and repeat!❤
