A biggest thank you for posting such an amazing recording of the two maestros! I've been a huge fan of BGAK since I first heard his voice on the bandish, "bhor Bhai," on Raag Gurjari Todi. Since then I've been a huge fan of him. When I heard a bandish on Raag megh of when BGAK was accompanied by Istad Munawar Ali Khan Saheb, I was even more star-struck to hear such amazing vocals from both of them......this is an amazing father-son duet performance. Thanks again!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 as a musician and singer myself, I can conclude that they are more than just good, they're phenomenal, this is really top grade stuff. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
It is very difficult to praise this kind of music in proper words. The control is excellent, the moorkian are very many and of all kinds. The voice is pleasant and moves upto three and a half octaves, but not four octaves. The years of practice have made BGAK unique. Ustad Amir khan comes very close to him. May they largest in peace.
@Vish dear vish..this guy bhuvaneshB is always a hater of the great ustad bgak..you can see his comments in most of the UA-cam posts on ustad bgak in a negative sense ..he never posted a positive comments on ustad bgak..he always says ustad bgak is not having a good classcal music knowledge like ustad amir khan... and always he comments negative on UStad bgak..i think that guy bhuvaneshB is the father of ustad amir khan..
@Vish dear vish ..about bhimsen joshi and ustad bgak ..what do you feel about their musical difference?..it seems to me the difference in taans..ustad bgak taans are different from bhimsen joshis. bhimsens taans are very fast , long , and more clear cut than ustad bgak..ustad bgak taans are not as fast, or clear cut as bhimsens..but the emotionalilty, sensitivity, and raga rasa which ustad bgak makes on every raga is far better than what bhimsen makes.. actually it was ustad bgak who made me cry when i listened to his lankeshwari kanada, darbari kanada, kr asavari, even happy songs like desi todi, bahar , etc..but for bhimsens rendition never made me cry ..its very powerful rendition with taans, and octaves...but the smoothness of ustad bgak is not available in bhimsens rendition, but bhimsens taans are very much complicated to sing, where as ustad bgaks taans are very easy..this is my opinion as far as i heard. i would like to know your opinion on this matter..because i just want to know out of my curiosity..thank you..
Engages in similar showmanship as Sarahang, showing off ability to reach a high note (low note in Sarahang's case) without actually contributing to the performance.
Greatest Classical singer of all time.
Legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan's originality of 'gayakee' especially tarana part of this melodious rendering is worth preserving....
