Just to clarify in your videos when you refer to it as phenylpropanone you mean phenyl-2-propanone right? And it is just regular phenyl propanone made from the oxidation of allyl benzene and not from the methylene dioxy allyl benzene obviously right? and sorry for being a stickler but I’m just obsessing over specific classification to avoid confusion and potential mistakes by some of the less seasoned chemists and amateur enthusiasts here who are trying to make you know what and I know that this is an old post I’m sorry I just wish I had found your channel sooner but if you could get back to me soon that would be great and most appreciated thanks again thank you very much for everything else that you have uploaded and that you put in the hard work and effort to spread the knowledge and love 🐝 safe and careful thanks!!!

Sulfur is the most common a-halogenation catalyst for organic acids; for all else, any biodiesel vid will do.

If I dip the steam tube in the solution, does it make a difference? Is it necessary to supply steam above the surface of the solution? Sorry for my English

      I understand the question.
      And it's a good question.
If you immerse the tube directly into the solution and pass steam through it, it will be more effective than above the solution. However, you need to monitor the steam pressure constantly, otherwise the solution can be forced back into the steam generator, for example, in the case of water hammer.

You can put it that way. No need to add too much.
