Been watching your videos and you’ve got me excited for my first kayak that’s coming in. I’m just a little worried about it being inflatable but it’s top of the line
@@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 thanks for the videos and tips! I feel a lot more comfortable knowing all this info before even hitting the water. Maybe one of these days I’ll see you in MDR,Malibu or Redondo. I’m going to take my kayak with a friend to a lake and get a feel for everything before hitting the harbor at MDR 😃
@@ktulu310i think that's a really good idea. i like Pyramid Lake because it's not very crowded. i have a video on Pyramid Lake that shows you how to launch there.
I think it's a terrific hobby. I love the autonomy and the freedom to go wherever I want, whenever I want. You would literally have to pay me to step onto one of them party boats :)
yes and no. some of the considerations might be - 1) parking, 2) the arduous drag of the kayak and gear through a lot of soft sand, 3) you get sticky sand everywhere, especially when landing, 4) screw up the launch, and you'll be having an impromptu garage sale on the strand. for new people especially, i'd stick to the launch ramp.
Hi, I basically use a variety of erratic fall jigs: Shimano Coltsniper, etc. My general rule of thumb is - 1 oz for every 20' of water. So for example, if I'm fishing 60' of water, i'll use about a 3 oz jig. If things are slow, tip with squid and/or use some scent.
These videos are AMAZING!!! you help people understand what we need to kmow thanks you 🙏
Thanks man.

good to hear about your first trip. inflatable or not, you should always fish with a buddy. that way, someone can help you if things go sideways.

Good video. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to take the kayak out soon for the first time this season. Added a lot of new mods. Be safe.
Thank you. Stay safe as well.
Great informative video as always. Too bad I couldn't make it out. Maybe next time.
Great episode man. Can’t wait to get out to that sometime and fish it.
Thank you.
Your vids are instructive and useful. Thanks.
Thanks Nick.
Great video as always! Had a lot of fun. Definitely need to upgrade my boat when I can lol
Right on, man. Lap around Redondo Beach next.
Great video . Keep up the good work.
Thanks man!
I'm looking to get a used Hobie. I'd love to join you. Looks fun.

OC Outdoorsman went out of Dana Point and said the red tide was real bad so was fishing I need to get out on the water
He seems like a good guy, and knows what he's doing? I have some footage out of Newport that I'll post soon. I think that may be his home turf.
Thanks for the coordinates 👍
Nevermind, my bad didn't see the date. This quarantine is messing with me. need to get out and fish.
Have you done any fishing around the Long Beach area? I know there are two launch ramps still open.
Hi - I have, but I've found the Redondo Beach area to be safer, and much more productive in terms of the variety of fish that can be caught.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! love the content
Thanks Sam!
Wouldn't it just be easier and a shorter trip to just do a beach take off from the nearest beach?

Santa Monica plastic Navy is in business all you need is a hospital kayak to be compliant
Yes, I understand. Everyone needs to understand the risks involved, and choose their own path.
Keep the videos videos coming man! I fish out of MDR often and film it! Tight lines!
Much appreciated!
Was this today. They stop me from taking my boat out last weekend. (Long beach ca.)
Many launch ramps are still closed. Marina del Rey is one of the very few that are open.
At south shore?
Really enjoy your videos, would love to fish with you at redondo some day! Looks like Diawa reel what reel and what rod? Thanks
It's a Daiwa Lexa 300HD, and the rod is a St. Croix freshwater swimbait rod called "Mojo Bass". It's my favorite all-around setup.
Cool! I’ve been wanting to go fishing so bad. How was the water at the artificial reef? Thanks for the vid!
Hi, in terms of the red tide, it was here and there. Some portions were affected, and some were not.
Great video, I just got a new hobie right at the start of this lockdown haven’t used it yet, if you go out again can I join ? Thank you.
I remember you. Of course you can come out with us. HobieScout at gmail dot com. Next trip will probably be out of Redondo once it opens.
Super fun video! Definitely a nice easy access open ocean fishing experience. Someone scored a nice dinner with that halibut!🎣😃
Just wondering if you guys extend invites?
I believe in extending invitations to anyone who is generally nice. HobieScout at gmail dot com.
👍👍👍👍👍
what transducer do you use?
Hi, the xducer that comes with my Garmin Echomap 64cv is the CV21, i believe.
What lures were you using

Honeybadger VooDoo Outdoors thanks
Are you a kayak club
Hi, no - we are just a loosely knit bunch of friends.
What are the speeds you are paddling at?
Hi, it varies - it could be anything from 1.5 to 3.5 mph.
