Trying to Sculpt my own Chia Pet out of Polymer Clay!

In this video, I tried to make my very own chia pet out of polymer clay! This was such a fun experiment that I will definitely be trying again!

Also the reason chia pets are made from terracotta is because its very porous, holding a lot of moisture and also giving the chia seed something to hold on to. If you want to make this again, i reccommend using air dry clay. Yes, air dry clay is NOTORIOUS for soaking up paint when dry, but using a bit of paint or food coloring and mixing it while its wet, gives it an awesome color. Creating texture like you did here on the air dry clay will make the seeds stick beautifully

this came out sooo cute! you should try using the air dry terracotta-like clay that dollar tree has! it looks exactly like terracotta and seems pretty porous after it’s dried!! :)

Dollar tree carries an air dry clay that dries like Terra Cotta. Just another idea.
