Idgaf about this until I see Anbernic take the post-sale experience seriously. No updates despite a number of issues for the flagship android device (RG556) feels neglectful. It's like it's forgotten and drowned in this bi-monthly release crap.
Never apologize, excellent insight into Ambernic’s latest, done so in insightful and entertaining way;kudos for throwing ‘I hate Onions Russ’ some retro handheld gaming hobby & industry wide respect too! I’ll sub for that YT professionalism.
Man I really wish they did the DMG colorway on this updated 406V. I’m tempted to hodgepodge the two models, as the case seems to be identical save for the back button refinements.
Same here I'd like to know if those sticks work in the RG556 since mine i's sitting on a shelf. Hey if it's easy enough see if the RGB lights can be swapped in the RG556 as well
I actually would like to know if these will work in a real Switch. My Switch Lite feels really crappy without some high caps. These new analogs look super nice and have a lot of travel, but are minimal in size making them the perfect handheld sticks. Sadly the ones in the RP4 are way too custom to use anywhere else.
@@RetroMannGaming for the switch look into the hori split pads I have a few pair they new ones are slimmer and really comfortable but have great thumb sticks
Thanks for a thorough review. You might be new to UA-cam; but, no-one who watches your content would ever guess that. Keep it up! Question: Are you still planning on doing the 406V sticks transplanted into other Anbernics video?

How is the comfort playing 1++ hours using the analog sticks? I wonder. I’m disappointed we can’t use display output to tv for co-op and charge at the same time. Is there some solution for this like a dock maybe? Otherwise this device would be perfect imo.
@@Wavetheory85 no I don’t think the motherboard supports going that so no accessories are gonna change that and comfort isn’t bad I played a lot of SSX tricky last night lol

@@ToddTronics in terms of processor power what do you think is better the RG 406V or the RG556? Does the RG556 has the same problems with racing games?
Retroid caps fit these. So you can at least get concaves right now. Their new led around the sticks is nice in this and other models. It doesn't bleed outside the sticks on the transparent models like it does on the 556. Have you tried a laptop hub? Mine does charging and video out at the same time. My retroid pocket 2s plays NFS underground on dolphin mmj. Your settings have to be wack if this machine fails at playing it.

How come these cheaper products have hall effect controls and higher company's Sony etc...cant they use cheap shit that fail even on the newer ps handheld
The only problem is the more powerful you makes these the more they suck at doing. Try a modern shooter on this thing while streaming Xbox. Enjoy smashing your thumbs together and getting The Claw trying to use the thumb sticks and triggers at the same time. Not gonna happen. Vertical handhelds are a thing that belong in the past. Barring any groundbreaking controls modifications.
@@RCCRAWL-q7g I think the idea of the vertical hand held is still great this was never designed for modern games this is why it has a 4:3 aspect ratio I think the more important thing is to know what the product was designed for and anything else it can do is just a added bonus
