Using that much neat bleach without a mask or goggles.......

I can't believe people actually post negative/nasty comments when the uploader is simply trying to help the general public. I personally use white vinegar --- but if I run out, then this is a good alternative. - thanks.
Thanks Jo, there are a lot of sad people out there that find they can only post bad or negative comments.
Dear guy, I'm from Brazil and as simple it seems your videos saved my ass during my visit to Canada.
No problem.
That was great. Would have liked to see you removing old grout and applying the new stuff as I've never done it but I expect you've done another video on that
Wouldn't recommend the toothbrush bit. I used my wife's and she was ill for days.

+Madison Kightly It was a joke...

Noob Trollage lay off dumbass. It was a joke.
Rob W I bet she was lol. Eeeew
I got a Fuginator brush from Amazon. Its narrow and quite rigid, lets you scrub the grout line in one clean pass. Really recommend it
Good choice, did you have to use a utility knife or anything sharp to really get the black out of the corners?
John Mal. A big thank you, it worked. A nice clean bathroom again, not ashamed to have guest anymore, cheers pal :)
No problem.
I loo
You're ashamed of your guests ??
hi al,
i work in void properties(maintenance), we often have this issue, we've found kill rock mould remover and astonish mildew remover(homebargains) works a treat! spray on leave for approximately 20 mins, shower off!
Thanks for the tip James.
Cheers Al.
Never thought of using a new toilet brush,,,,,sweet. Unlike you I've no chance of getting my Mrs to leap up on the bath to clean tiles down, so looks like yet another task for me. Ha.
Never mind Baz.
What a difference after! We use milton which kills the mould but isn't so strong. I mix some with water in a spray bottle and we spray it every time after using the shower. It keeps the mould away nicely! Thankyou for sharing! Take care xxx
+Jessamy Goddard Thanks Jessamy.
I'm so excited to clean my shower today!

Good job, I have used a similar method when doing land lord refurbishements as I suspect your job is. Personally I spray neat sodium hypochlorite using a pump sprayer whilst wearing a half mask respirator face shield and overalls. A quick scrub with a large hand brush then leave a half hour and rinse off using the shower hose.
Hypochlorite is around £12 for 20 litres from any farmers merchant like mole valley or countrywide so nice and cheap. The sprayer means that you can spray the whole bathroom in literally a minute or so then a couple of minutes scrubbing and your out of there.
By the way I love your channel, as an aside to another of your videos hemp can still be bought, I bought a hank of it a week ago from BES.
50/50 bleach and water spray on small sections of tile/grout and let sit one hour, wipe with wet cloth - repeat if necessary.
I mix bleach with bi carb to make a paste so it doesn't run but stays in the gaps. Leave for a couple of hours then you can scrub it again as you're washing it off... works a treat
Thanks for the tip.
that helps me a lot my bathroom is clean and shine like i bought my house today thanks
No problem.
Top tip: spray the old sealant with WD40 first, let it settle, then the sealants breaks apart. So much easier trying to remove it...
gsf04 thank you for the tip!
gsf04 thank you for the tip. Was wondering how to remove it without harming the bath
OMG TYYYY
Cheers, will have to try that
@incogneto 😂
i found a product that all you need to do is spray it on the tiles ( a good covering) leave it 30 mins then rinse it off. Makes it look as good as new.
Its called Cillet Bang black mould remover. I had some black mould on the silicon sealant around the bath. It gets rid of that but noticed is does the tile grout as well :) No more scrubbing with an old toothbrush with bleach ! spray on rinse off job done
Thank you so much for this tip. Its the best £3 I have ever spent. What used to take me an age using a toothbrush and other cleaner, is now a spray, leave and rinse job with no scrubbing and no nasty fumes 😀. Off to buy some more from Tesco's before they change the formula LOL
Great! I was also worried about them stopping that line or changing formula. You can get black mould remover from B&Q & screwfix. In reviews people say it does the tile grout as well.
skeptic9876 where did you buy it??
Tesco
LOL MATE, I just watched this video to see how I would have to go about removing nasty mold from bathroom tiles grout when I saw your comment. Opened my cupboard and it was just lying there haha. Just sprayed it on and gonna wait 15 minutes now
works really well this, just gotta go over the mastic again to remove the really stubborn mould, hopefully another session will do the trick
I would have loved to see how you actually replaced the beading , silicone mastic around the bath.
Saw you cutting it away then finished bit lol how did you replace it pls? :)
Next time!
Beach doesn't actually kill the mould spores, it just bleaches the colour. The mould is still there.
I think that's a myth. The mold might return, but the original mold would have been very dead.
the mould does return, one has to keep doing it every month, clean your shower doors with white vinegar and baking soda, make into a paste in a bucket smooth it on with your hands come back in couple hours and scrub with a pot scrubbers that are felt scrubber, works like magic, scum will always return from water and the soap.
Thankyou for this video share. Please can you tell me what you actually did at the corner ..how did you seal it? I have the same thick black grout throughout and have a lil kid who loves scraping it. Am really worried and wanna do the same thing as you did. Please help.

I have this problem in my shower and I've tried bleach before and it didn't work but I don't think I left it in between the tiles on the grout well enough. Anyway i will try again. Thank you.
Donna Shopaholic That is the crucial part Donna, to leave the bleach to work for 30 minutes or longer, for really bad mould as on the video. Jan.
i wonder if that was a new toilet brush? just the thought of it seems gross! i would never use one of them for any other purpose but to scrub the loo !

I agree you'd be inclined to flick toilet remains and bleach in your eyes .seems like an extreme overkill
Best thing to use to clean grout without chemicals is a steamer. My title was awful and I bought a McCullough Steamer off Amazon used it and my grout went from unclean looking to looking like new! This steamer cleans everything! Check it out!
Will do.
What happened to showing us how to clean the mouldy bath? .
lorraine fleming - He did!
You get a stenly knife and cut out the mastic or silicone.
UA-camSearch ToxicVaccines ToxicFluoride, HIV HOAX that's not really cleaning it. That's just removing it,and replacing it.
I kept waiting......and then he's just like fuck it, cut it out? - too funny
My man still about? Dad of the century
Just. Haha.
I have complained to grout company and silicone companies. Many claim to be anti-mould but they never mark and when I complained make flimsy excuses blaming the customer. One products had Microban, when I complained about mould, they said that product in anti-bacterial and not anti-mould!
I don't know if certain brand of grout and silicone are better then others.
A lot of premium cooking utensils use silicone and electric toothbrush and this is why I avoid buying them, as mould can grow on them....
I also recently bought a Drill brush (have n't used it), but will try using it (with gloves).....
Good luck . CT1 is my preferred brand of silicone.
Just an easier tip. 2/3 water and 1/3 chlorine. Make sure you have adequate ventilation. Spray it all over the shower tile or bathtub for about 5 minutes then rinse it with water thoroughly using a shower sprayer or a bucket and watch magic happen without any effort. If you have a stubborn stain or mold you can do it a second time using a brush after you spray it, then spray it aging after brushing and wait 5 minutes. If you use this method weekly you will never need to use a brush or see any stains or mold again.
Thanks .
Here's a thought... bit rad I know but - clean the shower every time you have one ( presumably at least a couple of times a week ) - by using Method shower spray. Just spray all over and leave ! No scrubbing or rinsing and it smells great and it's an eco product that actually works ! It's great stuff and involves absolutely no effort at all other than picking up the bottle and squeezing the trigger.
I replace the sealant when it starts to get a bit grotty. It only takes about an hour to clean out and redo. It only needs doing about once every 6 - 9 months if you are cleaning on a regular basis.
And just so you know I am not a manic hygenist - just a lazy cleaner. An old boss once told me that if you give a lazy person a job to do they will find the quickest way to do it ! ( He meant me of course but I was quite proud !)
Thanks for the info.
Thanks, going to give it a try. we just moved into a rental and the place definitely needs some work :)
Chrystal Gray Works well for us, but do mind the heavy fumes, go outside and get some air every so often. Jan.
Chrystal Gray Good luck with it. Jan.
Was going to say there is no point trying to clean the sealant round that bath! Good choice in just replacing it! I maintain my bath and tiles by wiping down with a microfiber cloth after every use. Takes two minutes and I have no mould!
Thanks for the tip Charlotte.
Using paper towels rolled up and soaked with bleach is easier. And then leave them on for a few hours and remove them. That is much better but as you said always ventilate and use breaks.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for that came just at the right time landlords inspection
No problem 👍
to prevent this, try leaving the door open or fan on when showering. The humidity is sometimes why the grout comes.
Thanks for the info Laila.
Hi Thanks for the vid, what was the product name that you used to seal the bath with?
When this vid was done it was a cheap mastic, but nowadays it would be CT1
a more efficient way that I do, is get a small bucket with a lot of bleach in it and a little water to dissolve. Get a large sponge, squeeze it inside the bleached water bucket, and then go over the dirt with it. Leave for a few hours and just rinse... Job Done!
Thanks for the info Roberta.
Certainly got rid of the orangey mould for me. Used bleach and a scourer - elbow grease. You definitely need to open the window because the bleach is overpowering. Did find that my eyes stung later but I should've worn goggles I suppose. My extractor fan hadn't worked for ages which exacerbated the problem and I will get it fixed pronto. I used to forget to use it anyway. Won't make that mistake again. Thanks for the help.
No problem.
Does bleach really clean away the dirt or just ‘bleach’ them? I do this but the same areas of discolour return. Remove and re grout is surely the best way?
You must be joking. Have you ever tried getting the fixer off of the back of wall tiles?
Couldn't have explained any better man. Good work.
you didn't show the finished job on the silicon sealer around the bath. I would like to see a few tips on redoing the sealer. 😞
I am useing mould and mild dew spray to remove mould . Just spray and wait for half and hour and wash it . It is clean like new
I used same, worked very well
My bog brush has shit on it, can I still use it on the tiles? LOL
If you prefer brown grout.
+T. D. sure...the shit works just fine as well!
you're a genius...

dereton33 Hahahahaha!
Well, I used the same plastic sealers and have to say they are crap. After a few months the water eventually runs in behind and you're left with a lovely mold after a while. Though I will try the bleach
Thanks for uploading the video, but to be fair, it didn't really show a lot. In fact, I've learnt more by reading the comments.
Fair enough!
Hi I've got the same problem around my bath a large gap which would take a ton of sealent to fill, I just wanted to know were you got the plastic trim from if you provide a link please.
It was from B and Q.
Wilkinsons sell a tile grout cleaner in a spray bottle for 75p and it does a fantastic job. Much better than all that bleach. Plus the seal around the bath wasn't even flush with the bath lol
hi Jan, good video, same as my job. For grout corners I use a new denture brush with its varity of mini pointy bristles and keep it in my bathroom cleaning kit
Cathy Ticehurst Thanks Cathy, a great idea. Jan.
great video I had this problem, and was wondering how to clean this up,can you do this for wall or ceiling
Yes although there are some mold sprays that work quite well too.
are those silicone caulk strips? i've never seen any brand that lasts over 2-3 months. pretty much any brand on amazon has the most awful reviews.
Got a pound shop near you? Try Astonish mold remover. Comes in a green squirty bottle for a quid. works like magic honest. Just spray the stuff on and the black mold just disappears
Thanks for the tip.
which was the thing you use clean the dirty grout on the besen
Saw him was cutting the dirt out then suddenly its clean, did he apply new grout to area?
Yes I did. Just the mastic seal around the bath.
HG mould spray is the best as it kills the spores and doesn't just bleach them. Don't use WD40 as the new sealant won't stick!
Thanks for the info TD.
Hi Dereton, using a toothbrush to clean the middle of the tiles is an amazing idea. I love your video but what if you used an electric toothbrush instead? Anyway hope you are having a nice day. keep on going, mate. :)
Thanks for the tip!
where did you get that bath edging mate. and what's it's proper name.cheers
It is bath seal from B and Q
there is a great tech 7 spray that works very well to remove silicone
I tried the cillit bang grout remover but it was useless. Tried bleach again useless so just re grouted, no big deal really
use white vingar & baking soda, it's more effective
Wont vinegar and baking soda cancel each other out?
@@overlordKrunK Yes. Vinegar (acid) + Baking Soda (alkaline) = Water

is cutting the mastic the only way to remove the black grout from it?
No you can use bleach or mould remover. The mastic was too much of a mess in this instance.
Excellent video! Just what I needed to see! Thank you so much!

spray the grouting and sealant with dettol mould and mildrew removal, leave overnight and rinse off with shower head. no need to remove old sealant. both grout and sealant restored white and mould killed too

I wonder if soda crystal solution would have cleaned grout instead of bleach?
How it even get like that in first place.mine doesnt get like that do you air it after shower.
This is a rented flat not our home.

what did you add at the end of instead of the grout after you cut it out??

How to clean the grout between your wall tiles ... GET YOUR WIFE TO DO THE SCRUBBING ..LOL
How did you know.
It's best to use a tile and grout cleaner beforehand to remove soap scum, oil and dirt first. This way the mould has nothing to grow back on.
Thanks for the tips!
So, hang on, what chemical did you use to clean the grout? You don't explain. You mention bleach in passing as if we were supposed to know, so I assume it's bleach, but is it any particular type of bleach? I've been using Domestos but with poor results.
A really cheap super market one.
For bathroom sealant i use a multitool with a scraper attachment
You seriously need some ventilation in that bathroom. The general consensus is bleach doesn't kill mold but it isn't always the mold that gets you sick it's the mycotoxins and aflotoxins that can make you I'll. Sodium Hydrochloride the main in ingredient in bleach kills mycotoxins and aflotoxins but can take up to 4 days of treatmemt to do its job
Its sodium hypochlorite 😀
this was helpful. Thanks!
Actually it's Sodium Hypochlorite - should have paid attention in Chemistry!
Did I just see you use toilet brush ???? You know I just broke my ankle running to the comments
A great tool.
I had tried using powdered Clorox bleach but it doesn't work to get rid of it.
He showed us how to remove the silicone but not what he replaced it with. Feel a bit short-changed here!
I showed a rubber inset strip over the silicone as it looked much better and neater.
What did he seal around the tub?
Gap edging with mastic.

its spelt Mould in the UK this is a british video so it uses british language

Can I make a bucket of bleach and water and soak full floor with it. Would this harm tiles?
No it will be fine.

I need someone to help me out also. i have a bad mold in our bedroom & bathroom & Livingroom as problem. I live in Graffton WV. i have no time to do it while handfully daughter age 4 years old :(
a better way for the bleach to soak into the grout is to squirt bleach onto strips of toilet paper as you are placing it to the wall ,it works a treat as the bleach stays put.
Thanks for the tip Paul. Jan.

3%strength of hydrogen peroxide removes and kills surface and the"roots" of black mould, also whitens the grout. It can also be used as a general cleaner to sanitize hard surfaces. Can only be bought in the UK at a maximum of 12% strength, dilute with distilled water only, not tap water, it degrades its effectiveness, Read the instructions
Bleach removes the surface black mould and whitens
Thanks.
@@dereton33 You are very welcome. Watched quite a few of your video's.
I have found using Cilit bang mould remover quick and effective, wash off thoroughly, then treat with between 3% to 6% strength of Hydrogen Peroxide. This gives long lasting prevention of the mould returning. Read the instructions.
When a 3% mix is used for regular cleaning of tiles, basins, WC's etc., it leaves all sparkling and mould free.
Hope this helps, keep up the good video's.
WHAT CLEANER IS SHE USING

3. After 30 mins rinse

Yes it is good stuff.
It's a good video but mold loves bleach. It will last a while but, mold feeds on it. If you use white vinegar it most likely will never come back black with mold again. I use cream cleaner first and then the white vinegar. I only recently learned how to use masking. Even though I used to paint and decorate professionally. I was never called to use it. Just used various makes of filler. Certainly you made a difference. Great job! I stopped working as decorator. I'm severely visually impaired, opticians often spoil peoples eyes. They make glasses too strong, that weaken the eyes that next year you will need stronger glasses again. It's a scam to sell expensive glasses. A good optician will always give slightly weaker glasses than you need. This is to help strengthen your eyes. I didn't realize this until I lost my sight in my left eye and right is now low vision. Also, our eyes need vitamin D that it gets from sunshine. Another thing opticians do not tell you about. That sunshine vitamin D cannot penetrate through glass. Therefore, it is a good idea when out doors to sometimes; not use your glasses. That way your eyes will get the vitamin D it needs. We can also exercise our eyes. Had I not learned all this most likely I would have lost vision in my right eye as well. But an eye professor damaged my left eye. I will not go into the horror details. Had I known what he was going to do would make me blind in left eye. I would have ran away. He permanently damaged the retina.
Thanks for the info Steve, sorry to hear about your eye.
@@dereton33 It's Ok I have learned to cope with it. God bless!
Not according to my optician. Giving a weaker prescription is outdated science.
Hope that was a brand new toilet brush LOLOL
