I like the beauty and simplicity of the Rustler 24. Doesn't even need winches. Timeless, retro sheer and overhangs. I wouldn't want an open transom, not interested in speed, just relaxing.
The boats are interesting but the camera work and music make it hard to follow. Also, please at least focus on the specs for a bit longer or post stills so they are readable. Thanks.
If you are looking form small sailboat you should definitely check antila yachts and northamn (and their maxus series) Both of them offer sailboats from 22 up to 33 feets with many options to customize your boat. They are relatively cheap and high quality.
I'm not sure those open transoms are such a great idea. If you beach your boat, you'll get waves rushing into your boat. (And you'll lose things out the back, while underway. )
I like the sailart 20. reminds me of the Leisure 20 from the 80's. Simple uncluterred deck layout too. Some of the others looked very difficult to sail.
Admittedly I have only watched a few boats so far, but I'm interested to know how the low stern acts in big seas and at anchor in bad weather or a following sea. I kind of get the feeling that they wouldn't be great? I have a 27 ft sailboat from the early 80's, and no doubt technology has come a long way since then, but it has high freeboard and a high back with self draining cockpit and even in heavy waves I haven't taken water over the side or stern. These boats seen more suited to a harbour. No lifelines either. Just curious. I'm probably missing something obvious haha.
For the most part, these are fairly high performance day sailing boats. Comparing them to an early 80's boat is like comparing a thoroughbred race horse to a horse that pulls a cart...both do a job, but it's not the same job.
Please plan you camera moves. The boats are very nice but the cameraman flicks the camera too quickly from one view to the next. If you want to show a cooker then show the broad view and zoom in. Have a theme, for example: show the boat name, boat maker and price, cockpit view, bow view, underside view, inside view.
You rushed through the Sailboats too quickly and didn’t give one time to look at the specifications. I also would’ve liked if you would’ve placed the websites for the sailboats so one can go and gather further information.
I guess shiny and the open transom is the "IN" thing but i wouldn't want to be in a following sea with it. Whatever's on the deck would be joining the sea bed.
Ballast the middle of the boat but sharply keel the mast and headsails from mast to bow. An even line from mast to stern This will improve speed and control in high wind.
Getting any boat is like getting a pet. To buy new, or rescue an older hull is a question. I for one would never support the continued use of fiberglass, carbon fiber or other non-biodegradable, non-recyclable materials in the manufacture of anything, especially boats. Aluminum, steel or wood, even ferrocement are suitable alternatives for any new design. I'm certain those who purchase new fiberglass hulls are of the same mentality as those who get their dogs from puppy farms.
thats not small... most of them are bigger than a catalina 22 and even thats not small. if we are talking about cabin sailboats, what about like a potter 19?
Rustler, Carbo, and Cornish were clearly a superior value in form and function, other than that there was very little seen here I would take out to sea in any sort of weather. Some of the designs me appear as if their designers have or have had much or any practical experience afloat. One "bath tub" has no magnetic compass! Yo, ink boy, what happens when the battery fails and the digital compass takes a powder? Many of the hulls and rigs seem dangerously weak, fragile and/or unstable; perhaps these sorts might include manufacture's logos proudly displayed below their load water lines so as to render them more visible to the buying public when they turn turtle/capsize due their "keels" parting etc... Traditional small boat design concepts are traditional for good reasons. One's that include " K.I.S.S.", "Murphy's Law" and simple comforts In my opinion make for a better small boat value and a safer more enjoyable boating experience.
Oh come on Nick ! It wasn't even that good ! Just a whirling salad of shiny plastic accompanied by some irritating noise pretending to be music. Unwatchable.
@@silaslambertsen5473 There are a lot of multihull manufactures out there with boats under 30 feet such as Corsair, Dragon Fly, etc. Was just interesting to see no multihulls at all. Still your "wide" note is a good one as one will see many multihulls at on-the-water shows where there is room for the big wide cats. For indoor shows the folding Corsair would work and smaller multihulls like Hobie, etc. I have heard manufactures say boat shows are a waste of money, so maybe the multihull manufactures just do not see the need to attend shows like these when their sales are doing great, why waste the money?
@@funtosail I am from Denmark like dragonfly I've been to 5 boat shows only 1 of them had a dragonfly at it and it was a floating show about 50km from the factory I think it's the getting the boat there you can't really Truck cats or larger multihulls and sailing them takes a while.
@@silaslambertsen5473 True but aren't Dragon Fly's trailerable? Width wise a monohull is good for trailer, if they are narrow, many are wide and require a special permit to transport. If a monohull has a fixed keel its sitting high on a custom trailer or that which can accommodate. I trailer my Corsair super easy as compared to any fixed keel monohull. Also the multihull is much lighter to trailer (no led in it). I know a lot about this as I run a sailboat shop and transport a lot of new and used sailboats, monohulls and keelboats. Seems to me I am told many European roads a very narrow. So folding tris not an issue, but of course wide cruising cats would sail to on-the-water show. For the man who wants the practicality of a dinghy at the price of a yacht.
I finished it with some seasickness feeling due to the camera....
Very cool boats and new designs just wish we could spend more time going in depth with each boat

Yup they get much more closed on larger boats its a very big problem if you have a dog since dogd slip a lot on boats
The H-boat is always my favourite

Stabilise the camera or yourself, too hard to watch.
Interesting reviews, where was the boatshow happening?
Beautiful video. Thanks!
STOPPPP !!! Your camera work is making me sea sick !!!
My mind saw "small boats for $2020. I didn't see anything in that price range..I guess I need to go smaller...hehehe
21:47 That one was ~ $1700 USD. You and an action figure can go on a trip around a pond.
Cool boats! I miss the boat shows!
A lot of coin for the boats for their length. But they sat amazing. Quite a change from the 80's boats
cant agree more 80s boats are cheap now and they are built like tanks

Can't u show the inside of these boats, whats the point of just showing the exterior.
Looks like a very wet boat and would probably cost as fortune
The n.12 wich brand is it. Thanks

How is 30’ a small boat?
Couldn't watch due to the beeping sound coming from your music selection.
The button is called mute. Ask your son
After the Pogo 30 I'm lost anyway. My kind of boat 🥰
These boats seem nice but they wont last any oceans for a long period of time >???
Ou sont les petits multicoques..??
Thanks. But if you use a Gimble the video will not shake. all will be good
Drop the playback speed and its way more easy to watch
What was behind door #2?
Thank you.
Good!
a list of names and prices would be handy
I thought it was an H boat in the thumbnail! A little bit fancier looking H than what i'm used to seeing😂
I like the Django
what is boat number 13?
Excellent camerawork... were you drunk?
Thanks for the great video! What boat show was this?
venture---- 2 lounge chairs on a skiff
Love it
Great video, would have been much better without the same repeating music! How about the sounds of the show?!!!
When coming to Istanbul?
It looks like the designers keep perfecting the sterile look
As well as the bleach bottle interiors that people seem to crave
I’ll keep my 1983 8.5 meter S2 thank you. I would like to sail the new boats but don’t think I’d like to have low top sides
What is this show???
Would like to have seen number 12 maker
Mowhoknow I believe 12 is an imexus 28. I googled the name and a website for imexusyatches comes up. Boat looks interesting
WOW THAT SAILBOAT WITH THE HUGE OUTBOARD IS A JOKE ONLY A FLATLANDER WOULD BUY THAT KIND OF TRASH
Can’t watch. Camera work!

Learn to count to ten while you are filming. Steady the camera.

Well said, the old designs that have endured, are stll wih us because they work. It's Darwinian.
What a collection of fugly boats
I think this video was filmed by a crack-addicted ferret after intravenously injecting several pixie-sticks.

Sure are a lot of ugly and soulless boats there. The only ones that caught my eye were the those by Cornish, Rustler and Carbo.
Boring Baby Boomer Goes completely agree. Rustler is gorgeous. Very Shields like. That Carbo is stunning.
@@captainhml3868 Yes! The Rustler is also very reminiscent of Herreshoff designs.
