2vintage the first thing you need to know is, when you add more oil it makes the mixture LEAN NOT RICH. You take just as much of a chance leaning it out and blowing it up as you do if your jetting is lean.
@@sarcastropheoffroad9761 sorry to tell you adding oil will make the gas a richer mixture an your engine will burn richer. Why you think sparkplugs oil foul, because of bad rings on a 4stroke an too much oil on a 2stroke. Ur jetting an needle clip setting is actually what determines a rich or lean condition, which inturn determines the fuel to air mixture
The oil is for lubrication so you don't burn it up. Not the air fuel mixture
Thomas Fiedler need to check your info, adding oil to fuel LEANS IT OUT, we’re speaking about fuel here, less fuel is lean correct? You obviously are mistaken. I’ve leaned quite a few bikes adding oil to the mix thinking the same as you, until I was properly informed of fuel mixture ratios. Now after the mixture, going to a smaller jet leans the mixture correct? What are you doing when putting in smaller jets? You’re using LESS fuel. Don’t believe me? Ask ANY 2 stroke engine builder.
BTW, why do you think that EVERY bike this kid gets is rich? Hmmmm?
Thomas Fiedler buy a cheap POS you don’t care about and experiment, add a bunch of premix oil and see if you don’t go hot and lean it out.

I got a badass vision for this dude. Black it out a little more than it is now with some white. All black and some white trim, maybe some white rims. Then do the angry eyes
Full Toomey T5 exhaust and jet accordingly. Get an adjustable timing plate, they are cheap & go +4 degrees on stator. Remove airbox and run K&N style pod air filters directly onto carbs (unless riding really wet&muddy terrain). Delete TORS & Parking brake & sensor. Will run great!
Full fmf exaust system and black seat cover.and u should keep this one and put a 421cc big bore kit in it

The parkin brake is wired to the cdi its a saftey feature
Get a oem black seat cover, OEM decals, get a front bumper, and just repaint everything to it's original color and sell it.
He’s done that with the choke to keep it running. Sneaky

first mods and must do's really for a banshee are parking break block off, tors delete, filter and PIPES if your taking them off to paint them might as well put a good set of aftermarket pipes on it there is tons of good choices and god does it wake the bike up and sound a lot better, they can be expensive but hop on fb and pick up a decent used set for half the price if need be its well worth it. drain the old fuel and put a good mix in it and rip those carbs apart and get them cleaned up and jetted accordingly also replace plugs plus do a compression test and change trans fluid. all these things will put you in the right track and get you a solid idea of the shape of the bike then go from there
You should get a leather Seat for the Banshee!
He put more oil in it because the baffles are out so it was running lean
Painting parts is fine but don’t rush it. Remove and clean each part before spraying it. Attention to detail is what sets yourself apart from every other spray bombed machine out there. I have a clean ‘96 Banshee that is all stock besides FMF pipes and silencers and a Pro Design air filter kit and it works great. Maybe do a graphics kit along with the seat cover.
Get a parking brake delete and a tors delete and that will solve alot of problems also put the spark arrestor back on or go aftermarket pipes and properly jet it and it will run mint

I run the vp 50:1 premix in my weedeater and blower and they smoke

I think you should get a red graphics kit, with the black and white plastics would look good. Get some VHT Engine Paint and paint the engine black with red accents. You should get new grips if (ODI lock on’s) if you want. Get a new exhaust system (or just the silencer).

The parking brake is supposed to do that it runs to the cdi box. It's fine and he got choke like that because the baffles are out and it probably runs better like that find some put them back in not a bad bike finely

I usually shake 2 stroke bikes before riding so the gas mixes and isn't running on just oil that settles to the bottom of the tank

You rode it in the rain so of course it felt fast but in the grass you looked like a lawnmower. Baffles back in and carb clean

Clean that carb choke on means lack of fuel!!! Also check exhaust and Reed's! Compression check as well! Remix to 32:1 good fuel and oil drain old gas from tank

It’s hard to believe that’s original top end considering how rough the quad is the normally don’t last that long
I have a 2002 banshee that barely got its first top end about 6 months ago
A stock banshee top end with no upgrades will last a really long time..

Dead right regarding the park brake. It activates s rev limiter exactly like “start” mode on a PW50. Thankfully that’s where PE50 similarities end hey?
It’s running exactly like a 2-stroke with the choke stuck on. Get rid of the zip tie on the choke button and let us know how it goes.

@@shaunmurray8132 Ummmm-I mentioned that it was a rev limiter. Aside from the way it's running with the park brake engaged, it is the state of tune that is making it run so rough. It is nowhere near peak rpm.
Shaun Murray funnily enough, the carb has been cleaned, the zip-tie that was helping it idle with a blocked jet has been removed and the bike is running well. No mention of messing with a rev limiter. Generally, I’ll be up front if I’m not certain about my advice. You might want to adopt this policy as well.

Joe. First of all..Take that zip tie off so the choke is not stuck on. Go threw the Carbs, Paint the Pipes and get New Silincer's. Paint all the parts you like and get a new seat. Mix the Correct Ratio of Fuel.. Those Rear Tires are Some of the Best in My Opinion Holeshots.. Great for Dirt Racing... This is what I would do... I am a 40 yr old male that has raced several banshee's in my years... Nice Bike Man.. Just Needs TLC..

That's crazy I've never seen a parking brake control the choke
its not, controls the firing pattern. works like rev limiter.
I had a 2010 banshee, and on the 2nd day riding it bogged down and would not rev. Took it to the local bike mechanic who told me it was the TORS system playimg up, and he would have to get new ones.
If I had known it was the parking brake system that was preventing it from revving, I would have saved myself $300

Drain that crappy gas an refill it with 93 octane mixed with klotz bean oil or caster 927 at 32.1 mix ratio like Yamaha recommends an it will run loads better.
An don't forget to remove that zip strip off ur choke too
Throw a set of Duncan pipes on that beast and do a cheetah build 👍 too

Cant beat 1800 for a banshee. Wish I came across one for that price. Throw a all black seat cover on, new front tires and exhaust
New seat cover (black non slip) some elbow grease,new fuel and some paint she'll be good as new. You might want to consider getting stock baffles or slip on silencers (Tooomey FMFs), if the Ranger/Sheriff catches you without spark arrestors its a fat citation.
