My netduma R2 had issues straight from the box. I waited months to get my R2 and to be honest I was so disappointed I didn't even bother sending it back.

Have the recent and it’s awful when comes to WiFi I get 2 bars when I’m in my bathroom which is only 20 feet away, hopefully you guys fixed that issue with this one. Forgot to mention the antennas were awful as well always loose and always falling over. And yes they were tight

The antenna quality has been greatly improved, and so has the Wi-Fi!
It is likely the R3. A recent post on "X" provided a link for an FCC filing.
We don't have to pretend that this is some kind of secret. It's been well discussed throughout the Duma community.

I have the XR350, 500, and 1000... the R2 smokes them.

I don't speak for the companies themselves, however the R2 GUI loads faster in any browser tested on my end, never needed a hard restart, etc. My XR500 also was always waiting for updates while the R2 has the latest. @@user-ll8jg6pg9g

@@SheldonFighting the hardware inside the r2 is laughable, the only reason it runs smoother is due to not having the netgear filth that the others run alongside dumaos. id take an xr1000 anyday that only ran dumaos. i bet you that the soc used in this router is not broadcom. if only they offered the software on solid hardware.

Dang, finally a newer version but 2 generations behind in WiFi. We are already at WiFi 7 and I’ve already upgraded my network. I wish Net Duma would just use the new WiFi protocols, so we don’t have to worry about slower WiFi speeds on our wireless devices. I really want to buy their router but I can’t take 2 steps back when my 5 Gig ISP service is hitting over 3 Gigs on my WiFi network.
What are you paying per month for Internet?

I stopped using the R2 because the wifi range was so poor. I won't pre-order the R£ until i know this feature is improved. Hopefully with wifi 6 it will make it a router worth buying.

Will the WiFi be substantially better than R2? I had to stop using it because its WiFi was lacking
It's a major upgrade. The R3 is essentially us taking all the lessons from the R2 and fixing them. Of course there are routers out there with even more powerful WiFi than the R3, but they're very expensive. We wanted to make sure we didn't make the R3 too pricey, so we evaluated a lot of different WiFi chips before choosing the one which gave great coverage and speed without costing an arm and a leg.
I got an R2 and it got DDOSED so had to switch back to original ISP Router.
Is this have an ethernet port? Or wifi only?
Yes, the R3 has 4 ethernet ports

If it's as buggy as the r2 was I'm good dude. It felt like it took years for the software updates to stabilize the r2. I don't have time for that I'll just save up and buy a more refined product.
The R3 is a massive improvement on the version of R2 we rolled out at launch. We've learned a lot in the past few years and applied all those lessons in designing the R3. It's been in beta testing for some time now and we've completely revamped the parts under the hood to make everything much more solid.
If you are still interested in the R3, then keep an eye on the reviews and feedback once it has shipped & then see if it's for you.

would be nice to see a new router with 2.5gb ports
For practical purposes 2.5gb or 10gb aren't useful except for maybe local network file transfers.
How often are you transferring large files between local machines on your network?
Netduma wants to allow as many people as possible to afford the R3. Reducing costs in areas that don't affect gaming performance helps to achieve that.
There are many other available router options if you care about local network transfer speeds.

It’s not duma it’s NETGEAR they suck when it comes to making the hardware work with the software

Wish it was at least Wi-Fi 6E if not waiting until Wi-Fi 7. Seems a little strange to release it with an already outdated Wi-Fi standard
Additionally, the CPU and the memory seem a little bit anorexic compared to the competition and with only 4 antennas it's really hard to justify this over a lot of other brands that are up to the newest standard with newer and more ram and faster CPUs, more antennas, with similar latency features at the same or lower price point.
This seems like a scam exit to me, release old version of wifi 6.

fix how QOS handles bufferbloat on R2, maybe remove the bloat. Have a bloat free firmware for people that prefer clean connection
It’s easy to fix bufferbloat on the R2, do a bufferbloat test and manually adjust % for down and up till you score A+. It took me just over an hour to manually optimise settings but was worth it. Mine is currently 95% of maximum download and 66% maximum upload. I don’t know if this varies from provider to provider though!
@@samtripp6752 A+ is not good enough when sometimes you have mini spikes up to 20-30ms and even higher at times. I know what I'm talking about I own a Asus router and it doesn't have this issue. If you don't believe you can ask Fr33thy when he streams live on twitch he is someone that Netduma paid to promote it and he is done with Netduma too
You should be able to get a great bufferbloat result on your current R2 firmware. Head to our forum (forum.netduma.com) if you need support on this.
The good news is DumaOS 4 has even more powerful solutions for this problem so you'll have a good time once you're upgraded.
@@netduma thanks but I'm not upgrading for features i dont use, give us a bloat free firmware that has QOS and GEO filter only because many of us only want clean connection and not features (bloat) that we don't need. You know FR33THY he has switched from Netduma too because of this issue

Has this one fixed the glitch with appliances where it completely ignores qos settings? Has it fixed the glitch where when you search for games and it keeps putting you on the same server you blocked? All well and good bringing out new gear but the current webpage is a shit show, so many bugs and glitches!

Yes & no. Yes, the geofilter will let you matchmake where you choose, it also has the potential to give you consistently low ping and latency so you can win more gunfights.
No, because SBMM is a living algorithm that will keep adjusting and placing you in equal-level lobbies regardless of how well you do or what "advantage" you have.
Reading through some of the comments, man some folks are kinda harsh. I get it we've had to grow with yall through the bugs and stuff and it drove me nuts since the R1. I ain't gonna lie I bought an R2 a couple yrs ago and love it, minus the crappy wifi signal. The R3 looks very impressive but my only question is how buggy is gonna be at launch if I pony up and pre order? You guys have awesome customer service (Fraser is awesome with his patience and snappy responses). So that's honestly why I keep coming back and no other router plays better with online gaming in my opinion!

Got a NetDuma3 but no difference in gaming I find it hopeless. Best to stay with your original router supplied by your ISP. So now collects dust in its box in a cupboard as followed everything and found no difference plus also effected other home appliances

Do not buy netduma Routers! Garbage! My r2 hasnt had an update in over a year and has never gotten over 500gb down load even though i have 1 gig fiber.
