I'm listening to this in my room, with a half full glass of an 13 years old whiskey, looking through my window, watching the city, the cars, the lights, thinking about what i will do to my life, my family, my crush... yeah, night, lead me astray, please, lead the way...
So much Truth behind this. I miss the nights out on the town in the Capital Hill neighborhood (I grew up and still live in Seattle, if you've ever been in this area of the city then you'll instantly know what I mean and why this song has so many layers of truth/meaning. If you've never been, please come visit you'd be in for one heck of a night and most people are incredibly accepting and welcoming, every night here is gushing with potential. I've had many of the best nights of my life in this area by just showing up without any plans. People are incredible. Hoping all will return to how it once was to this particular area I have known and loved after this whole pandemic business is over). So much truth to this song. Keep letting nights lead you astray everyone!
Man I love this song. I was listening to this song on repeat while backpacking through Southeast Asia. It was a great song to cure my homesickness and find courage to go out and make the best of every single day throughout my trip!
tonight might be a good night to blast this with the top down, on an excursion into the dark back roads on the massachusetts/connecticut border, with no other sound but the wind rushing past, the happy snarl of a flat six, and the gush of dead leaves spinning into oblivion in the vortexes left by my passing.
I adore both released albums by Younger brother, and I still love the shit out of this song. The lyrics are beyond beautiful and with hints of all the sounds you normally love from YB still intermixed. If you can't hear YB in this song, you've obviously haven't listen close enough. It may have a different overall sound, but that is the beautiful part of music, the evolution. I hate hearing artists who practically create the same album 50 times. Expansion and evolution is a wonderful thing.
wow.. YB have some come a long way since A Flock Of Bleeps! really digging this new sound, first I've ever heard of it so far. Twisted just keeps getting better and better as time goes on!
God Bless Us All. We are interwoven in the soundtrack of reality. You should wear headphones when listening to anything of quality; especially that from Twisted Records.
Flock was definitely more like Shpongle, then Last Days of Gravity started to feel like a new band with familiar sounds, this latest album just blows me away every time I listen to it.
I guess I see what you are saying Hasheaven, but lets not judge the whole album to quick (aka their current sound they are projecting). I do agree that evolution is about novelty, but even when I listen to this song, I listen to the lyrics and to the quieter atmospheric sounds layered within the "pop"y, shoegaze, alt rock sounds, and i'm graced with a novel experience. I'm an instrumental man myself, and am picky with male vocalists, but I actually love his sound. Not to mention the psy
Rumm campbell is the singer name, I dont know why there is no mention of the vocalists name anywhere in description of the video. And Yes Ruu campbell is a gem …turning his torture’s into an art….
I think they are just starting to explore the posibilities of a rock band, wait till they are more confortable and use their knowledge and skills in sound design and for sure they will be a blast.
I kinda like it as a song by itself, but I was expecting something else from YB. It maybe will have some commercial success, but I don't think it fits with the previous profile of the project. It remains to be seen if it will attract more new fans than the old fans that will be driven away. I just hope it's the odd one out on the upcoming album.
For all those that don't like this supposed new direction YB are going in, I suggest you buy the EP and enjoy the Younger Brother remix, it's a lot more in keeping with their earlier material.
@govdo Why does it matter what it is? Does it sound good or not? If it's not for you, then don't buy the album. It sounds amazing to me. Pound a rhythm is already one of my favourite Posford songs of any of his many projects over the years. Thats saying a lot being a complete psybient/ ambient/ shpongle/celtic cross - head. That and the guitar bit 5 mins ish in in this video makes my hairs stand on end. watch?v=22rV3vy2Z3A&playnext=1&list=PL864A8E9B1F9D5F87&index=88 Peace Brian
hello evrybody! no! this not cold play! this is the continum of the pink floyd music and i could say also from hendrix music and... euh! can'tyou imagine the rest?
@srajan0929 i totally agree with you. i like Train and No Safety In Numbers more than this song because this one has vocals in all the song the other two have vocals but are more psychedelic, more like the REAL Younger Brother. I loved the two albums they made and i'm a fan of younger brother and i hope they dont ruin it all with this album. But who knows maybe the songs they are not showing to people are just perfect and similar to the first and second albums
that god old YB is obviously does not exist!! this is now band who has the same name but the music is very different...but again, they need to survive like anybody else and there is a few god tracks on this new album
i don't know i like this new album. i love "The Last Days of Gravity" and "A Flock of Bleeps" too but i think this new album is just their way of trying out a new branch
|I really don't want to be a hater since i was one of their biggest fans! But i LOVED YB becouse of their unique progressive sound which is now totally lost! I believe that evolution is to create something new in music and not to become another radiohead clone. this is not progress. This style of music is very mainstream (boring for me) and plays everywhere!! I regret I spend that money on their pledge promotion! I'll just stick to shpongle and eat static for now until the next YB album : (
Fuck, I'm going through these newer younger brother songs and I'm grimacing. This new style sounds like a crappy coldplay knockoff. Where are my creepy chilling psybient tones like "psychic gibbon" and "All I want" with limited vocals that are wonderfully enigmatic. FUCK
Nah...It's good...I thought the same at first, but it really grows on you. Good vocals always work and Ruu's voice is very unique IMO. Good stuff for the right moment.
ouch.. the second album was alright but this is just painful.. Where's simon posford? where's benji vaughan? all i see is this emo waving his hands up and down, repeating the same line over and over... i almost wonder if this is posfords revenge for the leak of inneffable mysteries
I'm listening to this in my room, with a half full glass of an 13 years old whiskey, looking through my window, watching the city, the cars, the lights, thinking about what i will do to my life, my family, my crush... yeah, night, lead me astray, please, lead the way...
After the Outbreak happened, I am still alive and listening to this.

Man I love this song. I was listening to this song on repeat while backpacking through Southeast Asia. It was a great song to cure my homesickness and find courage to go out and make the best of every single day throughout my trip!
What a wonderful song. Thank you from the heart of the Andes, South America. Just thank you.

Rupert, good voice! Best for YB!

Flock was definitely more like Shpongle, then Last Days of Gravity started to feel like a new band with familiar sounds, this latest album just blows me away every time I listen to it.
great music
Apparently RUU CAMPBELL vocalist of YB has a solo album out now and is doing secret gig on Sept13 in Shoreditch Church London!!!!!

Song is so repetitive that while you love it at the beginning, by the time it ends you're sick of hearing it forever.
I think they are just starting to explore the posibilities of a rock band, wait till they are more confortable and use their knowledge and skills in sound design and for sure they will be a blast.

Great song. Wish I could say the same about the video.

I've been loving this song for many years, but only now found the official video! What a treat.

Coldplay will never achieve anything near this
that god old YB is obviously does not exist!! this is now band who has the same name but the music is very different...but again, they need to survive like anybody else and there is a few god tracks on this new album
Only 51k views on this video in 2 years. Everyone in the world is so stressed out. Night lead us all astray.
31 people slipped and hit thumbs down.
@ONeilOrchestration You think so? I believe they are fairly relevant to the psychedelic culture that Younger Brother is a part of.
money is bad for music...
i don't know i like this new album. i love "The Last Days of Gravity" and "A Flock of Bleeps" too but i think this new album is just their way of trying out a new branch
28 people put hand down... what's up?
i think it's psy enough over & over
Chris Martin's younger brother?
@simplybrad74 what? you've wrong meaning

why call it younger brother? they should use a different name because it doesn't sound like younger brother at all.
Fuck, I'm going through these newer younger brother songs and I'm grimacing. This new style sounds like a crappy coldplay knockoff. Where are my creepy chilling psybient tones like "psychic gibbon" and "All I want" with limited vocals that are wonderfully enigmatic. FUCK
